I fucking love that you of all people commented here with this comment. This is fucking sick. Love the edits you've been doing lately Matt and your clip on the new Mash steel frame where you did the road jump gap is so rad. Keep killing it man
So true when this was new it was absolutely mind blowing, but being honest it still is. All of the tricks are without any foot retention! Also great to see you matt keeping the "track bike" fixed gear steert tricks alive. I really enjoy these actual 700c bikes doing tricks than these almost bmx like fixies.
+jmendoza328 do you think that's really what attracts hipsters to fixies.. I guess you can't do these kind of tricks on a road or mountain bike, so it's an inbetween a trials and other standards
+Omar Ibrahim I'm a fan of Chris Akrigg and that's why clicked on the video, I also trail ride and I'm pretty good (obviously not as good as him) but the fact that you got offended at what I said is funny!!!
A few hours in and this guy is better than most "pro" fixie riders...lol Granted this he is a real pro trails/mountain/urban bike rider who's sponsored by Mongoose...so... he has a little bit of practice compared to us regular first time fixie riders... ; )
i mean i guess you dont know what i do or seen me do it so i dont really trip with that sarcasm im just saying its pretty easy if you know how do tricks on a bmx and apply it to any bike
i ride freeride, bmx, street trial (Inspired) unicycle and.... DAMN fix gear are hard to handle and do tricks!!! Awesome video big thumbs up! gotta say, 3:10 that pedal trick to hop on the wall SO SICK AND SMOOTH!!!
The heat gets turned up at 2:00.. beast! This video made me want to wear skinny jeans, a beanie in the summer, and a ....idk whatever hipsters wear... one things for sure, I’m buying a cheap fixie one day just for the experience.
That looked hard as fook ! Not a clue how difficult that must have been to do ! Going from what is natural (to you ) but having to keep pedalling all the time ! I recognise some of them places (factory's / mills ) i think from way back , is some of this film in Halifax ? I seem to recall a fix gear craze involving playing volleyball indoors going on before mtbs was invented (might have made that bit up as i cant trust my brain to tell me the truth or if it just told me yeah here's a memory from eons ago filled under memories when it showed ave been in the weird dreams department!!) Big up the Calderforniea x
Would love to see you guys on your first day on a bike without a freewheel. How did it feel landing your back wheel? Child's play? - good point actually, fixed is a great way to teach kids bike control.
I bought one of these because of this video. Seriously got suckered in to that. But it's k. The bike is seriously bombproof. Still trashing it today...
This video still goes hard

the wheelie control is unbelievable...perfectly still!
Still one of my favorite videos all these years later...
Yes
I like how he picked it up for a few days and he could be a god among hipsters world wide..
+jmendoza328 do you think that's really what attracts hipsters to fixies.. I guess you can't do these kind of tricks on a road or mountain bike, so it's an inbetween a trials and other standards
+jmendoza328 he is a professional trail rider. he is much better at bike handling than the vast majority of bike riders.
+Omar Ibrahim I'm a fan of Chris Akrigg and that's why clicked on the video, I also trail ride and I'm pretty good (obviously not as good as him) but the fact that you got offended at what I said is funny!!!
+Chris Becerra I know I'm a fan of his, that's why clicked on the video.
by far the best fixie vid I've seen yet. good stuff bro !!
he makes it look so damn easy....incredible stuff
Amazing, bro! I would like to ride just like you! I salute you!
i have never seen fixie riding like that. thats pretty damn awesome.
Doing a run down of these clips and this is the best so far. Great stuff
Chris, great vid, takes me back long ago, wish I still had my bikes, anyway put a smile on my face, thanks buddy, take it easy or anyway you can =)

That's what I commented and some random dude got all offended lol!!
+HellaSavageX i do bmx tricks this isnt really hard
Together We Ride T.W.R. Sure buddy...Sure... :)
i mean i guess you dont know what i do or seen me do it so i dont really trip with that sarcasm im just saying its pretty easy if you know how do tricks on a bmx and apply it to any bike
on a fixie it's more complicated even you know how to do tricks on a BMX, I've tried it 40 years ago, pity go-pro was not existing.
i am a MT biker for life but wow, well done. i hate fixes but this is them being them. well down. thank you.
the fact he did all this without being strapped in is insane
i ride freeride, bmx, street trial (Inspired) unicycle and.... DAMN fix gear are hard to handle and do tricks!!! Awesome video big thumbs up! gotta say, 3:10 that pedal trick to hop on the wall SO SICK AND SMOOTH!!!

2021 still awesome Chris
2023 still cool
@pliskin100
a fixed wheed bike can pedal backwards or forwards.. you dont need a brake cos if you want to stop you just pedal backwards
nice vid. my maurice (medium size) doesnt barspin, maybe the bigger frames do or does the one in video have different fork?
Great riding, great music!
The amount of sorrow I feel for his tires is greater than his skills.
+Charlie Johnson yeah how can those tires take that abuse?
This was awesome to watch!
@iM2DN looks like a standard 2010 Maurice to me, check the specs on any bike site. New freestyer version for 2011 though ;)
love the music for this video
This is awesome! Is this the stock maurice apart from the brakes?
Are fixies good commuter bikes? I am thinking about biking to work and i only have a 20" bmx bike... i was wondering if that would be better...
That looked hard as fook ! Not a clue how difficult that must have been to do ! Going from what is natural (to you ) but having to keep pedalling all the time !

thx guy's, I thought the ending was good and then it got even better
this is so creative, I dig it.
First day on Fixie!!!!!! Wtf ive been trying to do some of those tricks, and it takes me like weeks to figure it out.
No straps or toeclip wow mann.. sickk
What an enjoyable video...
Thank you for posting this :)
DOes anyone know what size of the wheels would be?
Awesomely enjoyed this!
how difficult is a fixie to pedal compared to a regular mtb gears setup?
is he using straps or clips at all? nice!
@netspider2 buying my mates xl tomorrow, it doesnt barspin either, maybe he changed the forks?
Fair play for riding Westbury white horse, it's steeper than it looks! did I also recognise Frome and Bath in that video?
yeah definitely Frome, some of that is filmed at the college.
Why is there a giant concrete horse on the side of that hill? Where is this?
Uffff brutal slam on that blue pole at the end 😳
is this manchester? i recognise the bit under the bridge
i bought a cachet 2 years ago, now im on a detain, put in a lotta work, i thunk its time to go maurice.
What are your bike parts that you use? (Crank, frame, rims etc.)
1:30 is the circus in bath, about 100 miles west of london, 3:18 Kilburn White Horse 230 miles north of london
Awesome , thank you.
is it a trick fixed gear or a normal fixed gear?
i have a normal fixed gear but i afraid of doing bunny hop...it might got a KABOOM...
@LukeBass100 this is chris akrigg, one of the best trails riders in the world. He does not need to lie to make himself "seem good"
Where is this filmed? I recognise some of those places.
Still so so good.
what size Crank is that ?
what gear ratio and what size tires is he using?
Sooooo...? Why do you have vids of you on a fixie before this one???
@baholaRolls i believe it, he already rides trials
this is why I want a fixieeeee!!!! ahhh so awesooome!
all personal preference basically. if you have a bunch of inclines or crazy roads, you may want a road bike with gearing.
Wow this guy took fixed gear to a whole new level!
looks like the mtb i made for myself in 1981 but i had cycle speedway tyres and cow horns
that white horse is where i live in westbury that's mental, sick riding too
WOW, that's some savage riding....
fixies are the longboards under the skateboards
what brand fixie does he have
i wonder how many bikes thay got through to make this film?....
nooo, where is he?
Why did they discontinue this? :/
how does he skid without straps?
but can he track stand?
Can anyone tell me the title of this song, please?
DickHeadStrong Leonte Florinel gimme some lovin
Charlieswag9000 Seems a little expensive, he only wanted to know the song title ;)
+Leonte Florinel Spencer Davis Group - Gimme Some Lovin'
Thank you, guys !*****
Charlieswag9000
thank you , you are very kind !
always impressive!
how much kilos does that bike weights??
What tires do you use for this dude?
+Toby Prynne 6mo later any clue?
+Toby Prynne Pneumatic. Made from rubber.
Looking back it’s so fucking crazy he finessed all of this WITHOUT STRAPS. Though that bike has a 44/18 gear ratio which is pretty tiny
what brand of fixie did he ride?
amazing...I wonder how would I ride such a bicycle
man i miss riding!!!!
To me, I enjoy watching you ride then danny.... awesome !
usually 700c wheels and tyres on a road/fixed bike.
great fun great video ! Appreciate a lot
What city was this filmed in?
This was filmed in kieghly were i live
awesome bro, nice skill too
damn is that thing renforced??
london?
beautiful....
I bought one of these because of this video. Seriously got suckered in to that. But it's k. The bike is seriously bombproof. Still trashing it today...
You guys can't read. First day on a FIXIE not first day on a bike.
Chris is already a badass on a trials bike.
are that 26 or 28 inch wheels?
hey what size are your tires?
I bought a cheap fixed gear a week ago, when I try to skid, the pedal lift my body up,Guys have any idea why ?
foot retention and building up your legs so you can break the momentum of your wheel
thats what fixies do xD
Lean foreword to take weight off the back wheel
haha the intro before the main menu!?
What Kind Of Bike Do You Have?
what's the gear ratio?
what bike is that chriss ??
Sick video mate.
That boy got talent!
are you from Bath
@englandnew its a mongoose maurice 2010
