Thank you for tuning in my friend. Jian is amazing but don't sell yourself short. Getting in front of a camera is intimidating for everybody. I personally think you did great. Try and remember Jian does this for a living so giving tours is as natural as can be for him
I am lucky that I can also call Jian my friend and not just a tour guide. But he is VERY good at what he does. I have released 3 videos with him and a 4th will be out in a few weeks with plans to maybe shoot some more.😀
hi jeff, time really flies so fast, you have stayed here in the philippines for 5months.. by this time your taste buds have quite adapted to the philippine flavor, thats why your already liking every bit of food now, theres been quite a difference of your flavor preference when you have arrive before, and now you are a fan of that flavor now.. if your still in the philippines your should try SQUID KINILAW, when they are fresh they have a very sweet taste even when its marinated with vinegar..and lastly try LECHON BAKA, our version for steaks here in the philippines..and if you can find LECHON GOAT, yummy too.. oh, you forgot to taste the famous DRIED DANGGIT of cebu, such a bummer..you can find them in manila but they will be a bit pricey, i think some hotel offer fried danggit in ther breakfast buffet..its fried dried fish but less salty, like eating chips as your described it mostly in your videos.. more power to your channel..
I have no idea why it is hidden, but it was fun. Make a game out of it when you come. apparently it is not the only one in town. I have heard "rumours" there some in Makati as well
Gian is right about the Philippines best, the pastillas de leche. You just got to have the original pastillas and you can never go wrong. I highly recommend it to our foreign visitors and try not to missed it. Also, most of the delicacies presented in the video really goes well with coffee. Bon appetit! 😊😋🇵🇭
@@PureDetour Your welcome, I'm happy that you find the local food to be amazing and there's really a lot more to try. Have a pleasant stay and more power to your channel. 🙂🇺🇸🇵🇭
I have been in country for more than 6 months and have made 27 long form videos and countless shorts. Chicharron bulaklak has been featured no less than 8 times in these videos😁
Interesting story…… I spent most of the day watching your videos and trying to figure out whom you sound like. I finally figured it out, you sound like Michael from “That Philippines Life”. The most interesting part is that you both came from the GTA💪🏼
Just want to clarify that I was living in the GTA and my channel is registered in Canada but I am a US citizen. I left 25 years ago and ended up in Canada with Angela. She is the Canadian citizen
When I was young, the pastillas would fill the entire wrapper. As for the yemas, there are two kinds. The one you tried is made from condensed milk and peanuts. The other kind is made from sugar and egg yolks. You can find them rolled in sugar OR in a shell made from melted sugar. These are hard to find though.
Brave man...street buko. I'm always afraid they use tap water in the ice or drinks. I guess you've been there long enough you've adapted to the local bugs. Did you ever get a stomach bug? I hear BGC is safe, but that first placed didn't look like BGC.
I had mild Bali Belly for a couple of days after leaving Indonesia, but nothing here in the Philippines. The only time I have had full blown food poisoning is back in Canada. The little neighbourhood is just on the northern edge of BGC. In a span of 30 seconds you go from BGC to this neighbourhood As always, thanks for watching and participating, Darryl
That paid guide is wrong! Turones de kasoy is not from Pampanga, it's from Laguna, and butseron is not from chicken throat, butse is chicken stomach just to correct him as it's misleading
Hey, guys! Can you guess the bar at the end? 😉 If you’re familiar with it, let me know in the comments!
Your food tour guide is amazing.
Thank you so much! I have done several tours with Jian and he never ceases to amaze me
The recommended tour guide in the Philippines 🇵🇭.
100% agreed. Jian cannot be beat! Stay tuned, he and I have some locations coming up
Again, so much nostalgia on kamote and banana que! Jian's speaking voice is what I aspire to have in front of the camera

As usual excellent presentation, my friend! Not skipping any ads!
You're the best, Sadohr!
You are amazing!!!😊😊😊 It’s so nice to see a foreigner loving local food. That mostly not the case always….😂 Mabuhay ka!!!🙏❤️💕
Thank you! 😃 I find it very easy to love the foods here

that's so interesting and intriguing and I wanna know why that bar is hidden? i am coming this August to find out. lol

Kamote que ang banana que are some of my favorite childhood snacks
It’s the first time I tried them and they blew my mind!

Another food adventure 😊 i starving, watching your video😅
Thank you my friend. My apologies for the late reply. I could have sworn I replied to your comment
my fave piaya flavor is calamansi. the sourness of the calamansi balances the sweetness of the muscovado
I have tried calamansi piayas in Bacolod and, you are right, they’re awesome! My fave is still ube though ☺️
hope you can visit the best places for food in MALABON area
Drop your recos and I might just check them out! Thank you for the comment!
Next time let him try chicharon bulaklak n chicharon bituka. Fave ko kainin.

Thanks for the heads up, Eric. This was a lot of fun trying different treats from around the Philippines
@@PureDetour I hope you also tried Panutsa. It's a kind of a peanut brittle. But instead of using caramelized white sugar, they use brown sugar.
We did not try that. Only what appeared in the video. I will be on the lookout for it now though😀
😋😋😋👍👍👍
Thank you, Frankie!❤️
☺️❤️❤️❤️❤️
❤🇵🇭❤
Sweet treats are always better with hot black coffee ☕
Hey, if you know any good coffee place in BGC, let me know! Always looking for spots to check out.
hes like ali not squeamish with food unlike some vloggers
Not a lot is going to get to me. I enjoy all foods
Hlo
Hope you’re doing well! Thanks for watching! 😊
I'm a Filipina born and raised and I am not aware that you can eat the "paper" on that turrones! 🤯
I thought he was joking with me, but it melts in your mouth😂
@@PureDetour still, I'm not gonna eat that paper hahaha!
😂

@PureDetour of course Canada. Don't drink the water in that 3rd world country.🤣
😂 My Canada food poisoning was just being unlucky I guess. Beef Carpaccio got me.
