Could you please do a makeup/skincare routine video? Your skin is always glowing!!
I honestly couldn’t believe how Richard Swan could write such a great female perspective and all the détails and nuances that came with it; so good! 🎉
The Warm Hands of Ghosts was so good! It was my first Katherine Arden read and I think it packed an emotional punch without being too heavy handed. She definitely acknowledges the roughness of the experience but it never came across as exploitative.
Chain Gang All Stats was my favorite book of 2023. Glad to hear you enjoyed it as well.
Those books all sound great! Glad you had a good reading month.
In February, I read Under the Whispering Door by TJ Klune and Voice of War by Zack Argyle. Both were quite enjoyable. Thanks for sharing!
I just finished Chain Gang All Stars last night and wow, what a book!! I will definitely be thinking about that one for a while and also highly recommend it. My favorites from February were The Hate U Give, We Were Dreamers, The Unmaking of June Farrow, and Crescent City 1!
There were some really horrifying scenes in Trials of Empire. Excited to see what Swan does next!
Can’t wait to get to The Tainted Cup!! I also love Bennett and I feel like he does odd concepts really well 👀
The Warm Hands of Ghosts was so so beautiful!
long shadow sounds epic, thanks for the rec.
The “Once upon a broken heart” series was sooo good ❤ Stephanie Garber’s writing is simply magical. Her descriptions are amazing ❤
I also read Chain-Gang All-Stars this month and agree so much with your review!!
I NEED to know where that sweater is from 🙀
The Tainted Cup sounds marvelous 👌🏻 definitely want to get to it soon
I also read 7 books in February: Stars of Chaos vol 2, the Sea and the Sacred in Japan: Aspects of Maritime Religion, Guardian vol 1, Gwen & Art Are Not in Love, Glad Complex (which I honestly DNFed the last 70ish pages and skimmed the end), Strange Tales from Japan, and Haunted Japan.
If you enjoyed the Ancillary books so much, you're definitely gonna enjoy Leckie's fantasy book
That's good to know! Thank you 💗
You had an excellent reading month! I feel like I haven't read a 5 star read in so long.
Alright, you sold me on Chain-Gang All Stars. I absolutely love your channel 🫶
I'm currently reading The Tainted Cup, and it's so fascinating! I haven't read a book with a world like this before. I hope I end up loving it even more by the end. 🌿
I am also reading this book and really enjoying it
I really wanted to love Once Upon a Broken Heart but I just didn't. I read Caraval way back and didn't like it, but OUABH series was recommended to fans of The Cruel Prince and The Bear and The Nightingale, both are among my favorite fantasy ever. But I just don't understand Garber's writing, I have so much issues with the plots and narrative structure. It's often just confusing and doesn't deliver. Too bad 😢 But I'm glad you liked it.
I finally got a hold of the justice of kings (i trust your reccomendations!). Now i just need to get some time to read it 😖
Please share where you got that sweater I’m obsessed!
Chain Gang All Stars was my first 5 star of the year and I think about it almost everyday
First of all, I want to thank you so much for your videos! I was a massive reader (of fantasy, especially) when I was younger, but find it so much harder now carving out time and staying focused on reading. Nonetheless, I have amassed SO MANY books from your content that I want to check out. The list is like 2 years running or something. It's ridiculous.
Mainly though. I've meant to comment dozens of times because one author I really liked, Sarah Monette, is actually Katherine Arden under a previous pen name! You should check out Melusine if you've never heard of it! SO GOOD. The intro alone is my favorite intro of any book ever, and every time you mention The Bear and the Nightingale I'm re-reminded.
But today is the day! Here I am! Not before I looked up the author names again juuuust to make sure I was right, though. I was not.
Sarah Monette is Katherine ADDISON, but you like her books too, so I suppose it all works out. Anyway, Melusine by Sarah Monette. The whole Doctrine of Labyrinths series, really. I think you'd possibly really like them.
Yess Ancillary Sword is amazing! I finished the trilogy in like 2022 and loved it. I'm not a great sci-fi reader because the science is sometimes bad and it bothers me (stem major here), I often prefer soft sci fi like this, Muderbot or Octavia E Butler.
I really need to re-read the books at some point because I think the thematic value there deserves a second read at least ❤ so good! And I love all the characters so much and the setting.
Empire of the Wolf is going to the top of the list now. Also wondering if you’ve talked about El-Arifi’s Final Strife somewhere yet?
I still have to read the last book in once upon a broken heart!
I've been reading The Hod King by Josiah Bancroft for the last few weeks, and I love the characters!! Especially Iren, Byron and Edith 💛
I cannot be the only one who, when they hear the name Evangeline, starts singing the song from The Princess and the Frog 😂
where’s your shirt from?? it’s so cute! 🥰
I need a low stakes book like Long Shadow. Thank you.
The Empire of the Wolf trilogy is SO good! SO GOOD! 😍🤩😍 I binge read all three books in February and I am officially obsessed with Richard Swan. Can't wait to see what he writes next! Does anyone have anything similar to recommend?
I love your outfit! ❤ sorry got nothing else to comment on 😂
where’s your sweater from?❤
The tainted cup was great, but Chain gang all stars was dnf for me at 34%. Maybe because of slump, I don't know.
Just read The Women which might actually be my favorite book ever. Also read One Window and Two Twisted Crowns and wasn’t a fan of it.
I finished The Lord of the Rings series book 2 and 3 Audio books.
The True Love Experiment by Christina Lauren.... very good but lacking ending so got 4.5⭐️
I love Once Upon a broken heart series. Curious to read Chain Gang All Stars and The Tainted Cup. I have a question for you. Joe Abercrombie - where should I start w his books? Thanks again for the insightful video. I love your recs!
You need to start with - The blade itself.
Has anyone read the book Steven Demogorgon?
My very first negative reaction - I feel like I was in Groundhog days, already heard these reviews- FROM YOU 😮
