At 1:42 (I wouldn't be able to use my watch because I recently broke the strap) That watch straps looks broke in multiple places like your pet cat chewed it up if you have one!!!.I have a pet cat which I love very much despite the fact he has broke so much stuff including chewing my favorite watch bands. So annoying I know because you have to order a new band somehow to use your watch again. I hide my watch from my cat now. For just one mile you could jerry rig it and tie little strands of dental floss or thread through the holes for just one short race.Won"t look pretty but hey it might work temporarily..⌚ Kalif🏃🌒
Haha! Thanks for the tip! I actually bought a new watch. The one in the video was old and didn't work the best anyways, but I got through the mile without it.
@@Jamesnu Thank you.Its good to know your time. The time on the big clock in a race is most always wrong by seconds from your true time because the gun time starts at the gun but your true time (Your chip time starts as your foot actually crosses the mat at the start of a race.A few big Half Marathons I forgot my watch and had to wait till later at night to look on the race Web Site to see my true chip time and splits.Your mile was fast.My recent best a few years back was a 5:24 and that was with one or two speed workouts each week and a few longer slower runs.So without alot of specific speed training for it you nailed it fast even without your watch.! On some of my training runs when my time was too slow I wanted to blame it on the accuracy of my old watch Lol. The watch is both good and bad in our life at the same time..Now if I really want to enjoy a fun easy run I might not even wear a watch out of the front door..Good video.i enjoyed some of your other videos too like Providence RI and the Albanien food Good thing you run to burn off those calories and carbs and stay healthy to be able to explore more cities and advetures.⌚🏃🌙🌇
@@kalifrayan6061 Thanks for watching my videos! The good thing about this race was that there were numerous waves so the clock was always reset with each one. I was near the starting line with my wave so I knew the race clock times would only be a second off or so. I know what you mean about the accuracy of running watches. It's especially difficult in the city when certain areas I can lose a gps signal completely. Running fast is difficult. I would much rather do a longer run with a more casual pace than a mile run. It was so intense, but at the end of the day. I had fun and put up a personal best mile time, so I was pleased.
It still amazes me how fast you were able to do this - well done!
Thank you Sarah!
Such a great perspective of the city! Love your channel man, keep bringing out the great videos of nyc !
Thank you! I really appreciate it!
Congratulations! Running one mile in just 5:19 is excellent! I actually like the 5th Avenue mile run better than the big November NYC marathon!
Thank you! Yeah, it was quick, but fun. I really enjoyed the race!
Loved this. More evidence of the diversity of your skills, interests and knowledge. R.
Thank you! Yeah, this was a bit of a different video.
Great video. Chuckling when you said you went out too fast at the first 1/4 at 1:07 HA! So easy to do
Thank you!
so awesome ! congratualations !!!
Thank you so much!
5:19 is still a good time. Well done!
Thank you!

Did you run the ny marathon?
No, but it's a race I definitely want to do in the future.
If you can’t break 5 minutes for the road mile, get out of the field.
