    Thank you for this information and keeping Takyi alive. I just learned of him through Mutabaruka. Port Maria is my hometown. I heard if Takyi falls but never looked into its name. There's still so much to learn. Thanks again☺

    Jamaicans should not forget that TAKY was a Fanti king(TAKYI) who was captured and brought with a bunch of Fanti people from GHANA. Those Fanti people come from a place in Ghana called KOMENDA and KROMANTIN. Please be careful of distorted facts, most Jamaicans come from the Fanti tribes of the central region of Ghana and not the so-called Ashanti region. Your lineage is not an Ashanti but a Fanti. Both both tribes are from an umbrella group called the AKAN people. If you go to Ghana the place you should visit is KOMENDA and KROMANTSIN near the slave dungeons of Elmina Castle.
