    This is the one I was waiting for! The guy that get a Master in Legal HHRR and live a life of a rich guy. With a rich step father involved in profitable business with the Watchtower. It will be a pleasure to listen to this. Specially the implications of the fathers guy that was the main puppet of Franz in the hunting of the so called apostates in Bethel against Raymond F in the early 80s..... well I saw it complete. It did not dissapointed me. It shows the contrast of thousands of young JW could have a better life if they were allowed to study at college. I do not care if this guy is rich or poor. I care that the cult forces the mind of millions to see higher education as diabolic. Pure hypocrisy. Thank you for this video.

    I think your research is always great. I have one point though that I think you missed. There was a brief window of time in the organization's history where they eased up considerably on higher education. I want to say it was in the early 90's. There were some articles that came out that basically said that it's a conscience matter and if you are pursuing higher education so as to server the religion more it was A-OK. It was a real about face. But it only last a couple of years. I think bethel realized people were taking advantage of the loop hole, learned critical thinking and left the cult. I believe it is directly related to the story of Judah Ben Schroeder. I'm almost positive that when the father Schroeder was on the GB he is the one that pushed for changing their stance on higher education due to his son's and daughter-in-laws desire to go to Columbia. You may want to investigate that.

    That was really interesting! How does an expensive university education and fancy oceanside condo go together with the Watchtower ethos? Extremely weird. I also noticed in that letter that Amber wrote to her high school friends, she said "I am volunteering for Watchtower". That struck me as a very odd turn of phrase. I've never heard a JW describe their ministry service or their 'privileges' as volunteering.
    Although that is of course what it is, but JWs don't use that word. I always thought that was on purpose by the Society, because if a person "volunteers", they might feel good about themselves, and the organization to which the person volunteers their time and effort should be grateful. But the Society has always turned this principle on its head by claiming it is giving members the "privilege" of doing field service and fulfilling administrative tasks for the Society.

    • @TheSilverBeagle
      @TheSilverBeagle 3 года назад +6

      "I am volunteering for Watchtower".
      It struck me odd as well. I believe this is the phrase of a woman who is a little ashamed to tell her old classmates that she is using her education and time to serve what most outside the religion believes is a cult. She also did not use the term Jehovah's Witnesses which is a toxic term to most. Watchtower is a little less toxic and makes the reader think she's doing some sort of humanitarian work for them.

    Why did they allow Rutherford at Bethel, then? He was married! I expect because he was initially their lawyer....wrangled his way in that way and if you have the skills they need, the rules get bent. In fact I believe Bethel lawyers these days can have Famillies and are provided with a home. Isn't it interesting how they allowed the Schroeders to stay yet penalised them financially....hmmm. Punishment?

    Thank you for your research. The impression I get is that Judah Ben Schroeder was "groomed" by the Society to further his education for the express purpose of the Society, in turn, using that education to its advantage. Additionally, from this information, it's clear that he "married into money", as the saying goes. His wife was able to benefit from her father's business in that she was able to do certain things which, ordinarily, youthful witnesses are, at the very least, strongly discouraged from doing in school, such as, serving on student council and being in the winter dance court, all while serving as a regular pioneer, of course.
    As for Albert Darget Schroeder, I agree that it was a combination of all three factors which enabled him to advance through the ranks at headquarters so quickly. However, it was principally the third factor which ensured his standing: He was, if nothing else, deeply loyal to the Society. He proved that to dramatic effect in the late seventies, particularly the spring of '80, during the crackdown at headquarters. As Randy Watters, who has there at the time, reported, Schroeder delivered a discourse to the Bethel elders, of which Watters was one, in which he made the statement that the Society is based upon rules. In this discourse he had the opportunity to pick up and read from the Bible to support that statement; after all, the Society has a unique ability to twist Scripture to suit its own ends. Instead, he picked up the Society's book "Branch Organization Procedure" and made the point that the Society's rules come from that book. He explained that that book contains 1,177 rules governing every aspect of life for Bethelites. Learning of this caused me to lose all respect I at one time had for him. Of course, it would be decades before I was to learn of this.
    Prior to my losing respect for him, A. D. Schroeder came to my hometown to serve as the Society's principal speaker at our 1991 district assembly. (As I recall, he delivered at least four discourses: The keynote address Friday morning, the Saturday evening discourse in which the "Greatest Man" book was issued, the public address and the concluding comments both Sunday afternoon.) A few months earlier, my congregation and the adjacent congregation had rebuilt our Kingdom Hall; and the two congratulations requested and the Society sent Schroeder to come back a couple of months after the district assembly to deliver the dedication address. At the time, he seemed an all-right kind of guy. I had absolutely no idea of his complete devotion to the Society, although the simple fact that he was a member of the Governing Body should have been a clue. But, even as late as 1991, the focus was on the Society. After all, Freddy Franz was still president. (I'll pause here briefly to say that I'm old enough and was involved with the Society at a time when I can honestly say that I've known or at least had interactions with witnesses who were active when Russell was president, and this was in the late seventies, the eighties and the early nineties, not all that long ago when you think about it. That may be why the Society has, thus far, been either unable or unwilling to completely wrest itself from the 1914 date; they're still not far enough removed from the events connected to the teaching. In other words: There remain too many active witnesses today who were active witnesses in the last forty years or so, and the Society realizes that they know too much and, if the 1914 date were completely dropped from the Society's eschatology, would start talking, because, as it stands right now, everything hinges on 1914. It's all about control for the Society. Consequently, the Society has had to force that bitter pill which is the "overlapping generation" down the throats of Jehovah's witnesses.)
    Albert Darget Schroeder was a prime mover in the Society and major proponent of many of its policies and doctrines. His personal attributes endeared and ingratiated him to Jehovah's witnesses, particularly Gilead students and appointed servants attending the Kingdom Ministry School. However, he was, first and foremost, an "organization" man. Judah Ben Schroeder, as your research demonstrates, likewise is an "organization" man. Granted, he may not necessarily be trying to ride on his father's coattails, but, as the saying goes: "Like father, like son."
    Thanks again for this information.

How the hell did this man, Judah, get from being born and raised literally inside a non profit supposedly Christian organisation , where most volunteer workers went in with nothing and came out with nothing, end up with a Masters degree , own various corporations (with the prestige and reputation to go with that) and extravagant property?? Where did the money come from? And this man professes to be an expert in the field of human rights???? That makes him a most despicable individual!!! He supports, defends and has essentially become wealthy because of his direct involvement with, an organisation that robs millions of people of their human rights. He is worse than the GB in my opinion. There is something seriously wrong with this picture. I haven't felt this mad for a while.
