I constantly Block Kicks with my forearms and Elbows in Sparring and Competing. I grew up training in Muay Thai so I’m used to keeping my hands up and using forearm and Elbows to block most kicks and the elbows fuck the top of the opponents feet up fast. 🤷♂️

Really depends on were you go, i would try it out, even though my dojang competes in tournaments, were more traditional so were a bit more focused on a hapikido style, trust me and try it out. Its more than youtube shows.
because kicks to the head are 3 points and if it is a flying kick it is 4 and he performed a jump ax kick awarding his team four points. Hope this clears up confusion
Tournament and competition rules don't allow certain strikes and what not. I've been practicing for a very short while so i still have much to learn, and we spar in our dojang, and go to competitions, and its still fun non the less, i just wish we could utilize more of what we learn in the dojang out on the mat. some dojangs only train competition and don't get into the martial aspect of it much, like i say, i would have grabbed somebody within these 12mins.

I was thinking whats the point of even taking up taekwondo then, its looking like competitive taekwondo is purely sport, because i haven't seen any real technique or blocks and you cant even use your fist to strike the head, and I know i would have foot swept somebody a long time ago. Its like rock'em sock'em with kicks only.
that's not the natioanl team, however they are from one the best taekwondo school, and level of russian taekwondo become very high. im sure minin is nationals, he was fighting in manchester and nearly killed martin stamper, one of the best british players, but he lost due to politics, in britain taekwondo judging is very corrupt, and may be everywhere too

There are no judges to choose if a kick hit or not. Their body protector automaticly detects damage.
