Why am I not surprised? (Tip: I work the front desk in a vet E.R. I actually hear this stuff every day)

The tip about garlic wasn't exactly wrong. Feed enough garlic to your cat and it will no longer have fleas. It will no longer have fleas because it will no longer be alive. It will no longer be alive as a consequence of the garlic causing Heinz body anemia.
Even if it isn't bad enough to kill the cat, Heinz body anemia is extremely painful.
Of course, cats hide their pain, so you may only realize there's a problem because of the diarrhea garlic will cause. Which is no fun for the cat. And no fun for you when you have to clean runny cat poo out of the carpet.
All in all, probably the worst of the bunch. Cabbage on the nipples pales in comparison.

The essential oil is also highly dangerous.

Since I've never bought an essential oil of any kind I don't have to worry about that. But I do consume a lot of garlic. Which means I can't let the cat lick the plate clean to save me having to wash it.

Never said you did, but a LOT of people are using essential oils on their pets. Heck, I heard that in Whole Foods they'll try to sell tea tree oil as a way to prevent fleas even though it can cause a cat or dog to have a massive seizure and die. When a person I know confronted one of the salesmen about this he said "I know that but I'm under orders to recommend it as a flea preventative and if I don't I'll get fired."
Plus you've got people now who not only won't vaccinate their kids but also refuse to vaccinate their pets who use essential oils instead of real medicine.

Dr. Roark, you crack me up.
    A: "It's like a toxic fiesta."
    B: "I can't believe it's not hairball!"
C: "That's why dentists use dimes and are OK with bleeding."
Personally, "B" had me laughing the hardest. Any other opinions?
