Nice video. About to set mine up. So pumped for Michigan winter for once. Did a bunch of winter cabin trips last year, this is next adventure.
Thank you! Awesome! Keep us posted on your adventures. What’s your setup?
@@SAHN Octopeak also, with Camp Chef wood stove. Its very heavy, so strictly car camping up north in Michigan. Come on snow! Once I get more used to Hot Tent camping, gonna get smaller wood stove.
Nice video and tent thanks
Thank you!
Good stuff guys. I’ve been looking at the lux brand for a while. Thanks for doing the review.
Blake Shaver Thank you! We’ve definitely been impressed with the Octopeak! Let us know what you decide to go with and how you like it!
I have a XL Seek. Kept me warm in -4F. Hit tent in snow is the only way to go 😊❤️🇺🇸❄️☃️🛷⛺️
Lord Marshall Awesome! Definitely is better than “roughing it!”
Always use a cold tent someday I might get stove and hot tent 10degf is the coldest so far during my hunts
They're worth it, even to help take the chill off!
Solid review, very helpful.
Question, did the Luxe tent pole require a top cap? Any chance of it piercing through?
Thanks!
No it doesn’t require one. It is double reinforced in the top where to pole pushes the tent into a tipi and has a smooth rounded cap in place.
Have you weighed the whole setup. And would you be ok with three guys and stove or is it a bit to small
Yeah with the stove and tent it’s right at 6.5 lbs.
You can make three guys and a stove work for sure, but it may feel a little tight especially with gear. We had three guys and the stove a couple of times on some hunts last fall.
Thank you and keep up the good work.
cool video man, I bought the 3W stove this season, similar to yours, about how often did you have to stoke it?
Papa Romes Outdoors it really depends on the type and size of the wood you’re burning, but I have to stoke the fire about every 1.5 hours when it’s really cold out.
Thanks for watching!!
@@SAHN appreciate that thank you!!!
Thanks for the tour of the tent and stove. What did you lay on the snow to keep your sleeping pad/bag dry?
You bet! You can use a tarp (doubled up will give you more protection). You’ll definitely want an insulated sleeping pad to keep you warm.
How did you stake out the tent in snow? I thought the stakes would come out.
Ryan S. Just used aluminum tent stakes. They actually ended up freezing into the snow pack.
There are a few tips and tricks out there, including special sand & snow stakes, but we haven’t tried them yet.
What brand/model stove?
The Adventure Cowboy It’s actually a Seek Outside Large Stove.
Hows the luxe compare to a seek outside cimaron?
PJ Jackson Having never used the Seek Outside Tents, we cannot provide an opinion, but we do know that the Luxe is more affordable, and in our opinions meets all of our expectations and the demands we and the conditions impose on it.
Where is it ?
Nice video bro's.
Just in the mountains in Utah, above the town we live in. Thanks!
Shout out to pyro puddy
It’s great stuff!
who makes those pants?
King’s Camo. They’re the Ridge Pant.
