    Nice video. About to set mine up. So pumped for Michigan winter for once. Did a bunch of winter cabin trips last year, this is next adventure.

      @@SAHN Octopeak also, with Camp Chef wood stove. Its very heavy, so strictly car camping up north in Michigan. Come on snow! Once I get more used to Hot Tent camping, gonna get smaller wood stove.

    Solid review, very helpful.
    Question, did the Luxe tent pole require a top cap? Any chance of it piercing through?

    • @SAHN
      @SAHN  3 года назад

      Thanks!
      No it doesn’t require one. It is double reinforced in the top where to pole pushes the tent into a tipi and has a smooth rounded cap in place.

    Have you weighed the whole setup. And would you be ok with three guys and stove or is it a bit to small

    • @SAHN
      @SAHN  3 года назад +1

      Yeah with the stove and tent it’s right at 6.5 lbs.
      You can make three guys and a stove work for sure, but it may feel a little tight especially with gear. We had three guys and the stove a couple of times on some hunts last fall.

    cool video man, I bought the 3W stove this season, similar to yours, about how often did you have to stoke it?

    • @SAHN
      @SAHN  3 года назад +1

      Papa Romes Outdoors it really depends on the type and size of the wood you’re burning, but I have to stoke the fire about every 1.5 hours when it’s really cold out.

    Thanks for the tour of the tent and stove. What did you lay on the snow to keep your sleeping pad/bag dry?

    • @SAHN
      @SAHN  3 года назад +1

      You bet! You can use a tarp (doubled up will give you more protection). You’ll definitely want an insulated sleeping pad to keep you warm.

    How did you stake out the tent in snow? I thought the stakes would come out.

    • @SAHN
      @SAHN  4 года назад

      Ryan S. Just used aluminum tent stakes. They actually ended up freezing into the snow pack.
      There are a few tips and tricks out there, including special sand & snow stakes, but we haven’t tried them yet.

    Hows the luxe compare to a seek outside cimaron?

    • @SAHN
      @SAHN  4 года назад

      PJ Jackson Having never used the Seek Outside Tents, we cannot provide an opinion, but we do know that the Luxe is more affordable, and in our opinions meets all of our expectations and the demands we and the conditions impose on it.
