- This is the history of Bennie lifts
1900s - Bennie lifts first started as "John Bennie ltd". I have not found a Bennie lift this old.
1930s - Bennie made some very nice single speed lifts.
1950s - Bennie now made leveling lifts.
1960s & 1970s - Bennie now made their classic design of lift in loads of tower blocks all over london. They also made some hydraulic lifts, and they also made lifts that had the stepped frequancy induction motor.
Bennie got taken over by kone in 1986.

in the 60s bennies main office was at tinworth st vauxhall.
Lol I worked at Bennie Lifts limited at 2 Tinworth street in 1969. I earned £7.00 per week.
