Missions like these are a perfect example of why you should not approach the campaign like you would a multiplayer match. Most people who'd attempt this level would probably try to mass a huge army and run through Mengsk's defenses because they're conditioned to think that nukes are bad, not realizing that the SC1 computer doesn't know how to deal with nukes and that they're excellent for missions that involve destroying a specific building.
I used to be incapable of beating this mission. But using your tactic of sneaking Ghosts into the base and nuking the command center worked amazingly well. Thanks for the help.
I played this mission a couple of weeks ago... I built command centers at the enemy nuke siloes and then aimed those 4 nukes onto Mengsk's CC to win the mission. Lol.
it's easier with when you take out the physics labs instead. Nukes may seem intimidating at first, but with a comsat station handy, and seigetanks + missile turrets covering all your enterances, Mengsk is barely able to push into you. I always go to the right side of the map and push there with seigetanks. They have a mining base there so if you destroy it, they won't replenish their troops as often. Then I cut through the middle from the right side because they have another mining base there. After that, they'll stop pushing and only emassing defences. Next, seigetank into their third mining base, on the top left; it's easier than the previous two but not to be underestimated, they'll send everything they have left here. The final command centre is infront of Mengsk's command centre. All it does is replenish troops that guards Mengsk. You've basically cleaned out the entire map at this point, and can spread your seigetanks thin on all sides around his base because he's in no shape to push back out. This'll take about an hour and a half though, so prepare to save and come back to it half way! I really hope you beat this mission!!! ^.^
@@micropocari1604 thank you. i already finished sc1 broodwar and i must say there were a lot of really hard missions and im not the greatest rts player. i believe I kinda bruteforced this one with a lot of towers marines and ghosts. I did play vs nukes. It was easier to manage with just a tower on all sides.

4:29 DuGalle: And remember captain, all traitors must be publicly executed to prevent further sedition.
Stu: Got it, sir!
Felt like that was a waste, could of just sent them to go on a suicide scouting / raid mission.
Man I love the story of SC1

@@StuGames that's true
It would have helped if the music was a tad quieter. By which I mean completely muted.
They changed the map and made this strategy painful to do (but do-able)
lol this mission took me well over 1/2 hour.
Dude your lucky, if i tried doing this they got a swarm of tanks just itching for me to land
I just spent 45 minutes on this stupid level...😐
