The way Andrew stepped back & allowed George to soar with his solo success. Thats what true friendship is all about. Never any bitterness or resentment. Kept his secret about being gay. He wanted his best mate to be the solo superstar his talent demanded. They were best friends until the day George died.

Dear George, may he rest in peace.
The clubs he was made to appear in the early days were mostly Gay Clubs. Something he did not want to state in this film because he was still in the closet then.
He came 3 times to the club I was working in Called Bolts Club the second most popular Gay Club in London.
I run the small restaurant in the club. I'm George too.
The first time he came with all the group Andrew, Pepsi, Shirley and their guitarist David Austin. Sung a few songs spent sometime with me chatting in the restaurant area. That first night they sang young guns go for it. Next time I saw him he came one night alone with his sister. He came to me and asked me if the boss would let him sing. So I fixed it for him and he sang an Elton John song called don't let the sun come down on me. That was 1982-83 not sure.
Last time I saw him was just after young guns got to no 3 and remember wham on top of the pops. So that night he came to Bolts Club because Divine was appearing that night. Other big stars who just hit the charts were there that night. Jimmy Somerville, Mark Almond, Limal from katzia koo koo Hazel Dean.
George told that night that he will not come to the club anymore because his management or recording studio thought that gay club appearances will spoil his image.
Early on in this film there is a clip of wham singing at Bolts I see my boss there Nicky Price and the dj Norman Scott rip.
Memories rip George from George who is still following you even after you have left us.

Thanks for adding such valuable details 🙏🏼 As children in the 80's when there was more stigma we would point at notorious Bolts on Green Lanes as we went by on the bus "That's a Gay NightClub". You have to look hard for such places beyond central London these days.

Not sure why you think he was made to appear in those clubs and then you say they made him stop because it might hurt his image so you said 2 different things I saw the performance at Bolts Club it was awesome the crowd was ridiculous thoiugh I mean its like they had no idea they were witnessing true genuis before their eyes! LOL George had a goal and he went for it even if he wasn't always confident in his singing he did become confident with it and he always knew he was a great songwriter and of course we know that nobody could or can ever do his songs like he can that said the Hall of Fame performers did him justice especially Carrie Underwood Adam Levine had me worried but he jept Faith to the original he did not try to turn it into sounding like Maroon 5 which I was afraid he would do LOL and the Miquel guy he did Careless Whisper and made it beautiful the part I heard I was so caught up in him finally being inducted that I may have been a tad distracted also nobody but Andrew could have inducted George so that was extra special .

This reinforced what a talent [and nice guy] GM was, but highlighted what a selfless and secure individual AR is...GM went through his own personal 'hell', but it must have been as difficult for AR to be cast by the media as 'The other [less 'talented'] man', and not feel the need to react...that showed real strength of character and a genuine friendship bond....AR, and amazing person!

Actually George did believe in his talent especially as a song writer and yes it was a difficult transition from Wham! to solo andFaith was bigger than he ever could imagine and it shocked him but he got through it he wasdestined to be a star and only he could sing his songs he could sing other people's songs too but Nobody could sing his songs like he could I just don't want to give you the impression that George was this unhappy person he wasn't he had times like we all do but he wasgenerally happu and he was happy before he passed Shirlie and David and Andrew all spent time with him and they said he was happy being them and working he loved his music and of course with his sisters and dad Fadi is dead to me but this Documentary is about Wham! which was a blast and I am 39 and I was a baby when they solit I got to exoerience Faith but I love Wham! too LOL

I think that this film shows that PERHAPS George was the greater writer/artist... (In POP MUSIC that's not even half the battle...) ANDREW allowed George to become what he eventually became. Without Andrew, George whould never have existed. Andrew, (perhaps unburdened by complexities that George couldn't fully share with his friend?) gave George unconditional confidence and, indeed, love... (That's what allowed George to blossom...) Andrew, (initially 'The Pretty One') eventually acknowledged that his partner in the band had a talent he simply didn't have to the same degree. Instead of resenting that, Andrew fully supported his brother in music. Even to agreeing to taking something of a 'back seat'? (That was an incredibly loving thing to do...) To those that say that 'musically' WHAM weren't the best, I'd say listen to 'The Edge Of Heaven' a FUCKING PERFECT pop single. (But I say AGAIN, without Andrew Ridgely, there'd be no WHAM and without WHAM, we'd never have heard of Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou/George Michael...) xx SF

My kids always snicker at me when I get excited and bouncy when a Wham song on Pandora or on my playlist starts playing. I was, and still am, a huge music fan. And Wham was a big part of that in my early teen years. This film brought me back to all those happy memories. It also gave me greater insight into their story and furthered my appreciation for what they accomplished at their age as well as the impact it had all across the world. Wham has Immortalized that youthful exuberance of the 80s. Thank you Andrew and George for what you gave us.

Andrew benefited a lot from his friendship with George Michael.. It is a matter of interests between them, not friendship.. Andrew knows very well that George Michael is more handsome than him, and his beauty attracts fans to him, and George's voice is better than Andrew's voice, so it is natural that Andrew is attached to George and does not let him go or abandon him because he is a gain for him and the band.

I mean Wham was George Michael. Did Andrew ever sing lead? I’ve never been aware of his voice on a record.

it still baffles me that Wham! Rap wasn't a huge hit when first released nor was Young Guns but it was sucessful enough that they rereleased Wham! Rap then it was a hit and they got on top of the Pops both those records in my opinion should have been huge right out of the gate number one hits and I have to disagree with them Bad Boys I love that song LOL I love Young Guns too and Wham! Rap! but like George my favorite is Everything She Wants and I am fond of Club Tropicana really Wham! never had a bad song nor did George in his solo career

    For "YOG" George Michael.
    The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven,
    hallowed be thy name.
    Thy kingdom come.
    Thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
    and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
    but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory,
    forever and ever.
    Amen.
