I have the Colour Venn, and I love it. It's easy to tell the time once you get used to it, and it's a watch that you want to take a moment to look at when you check the time. It's always a different layout and color combo.
So pleased you love it :)
Mr. Jones Watch is the greatest watch company to come out recently. They are incredible innovative and I can’t wait to see what else they put out. Just open a physical location too!
Agree
Maybe not the greatest when its competing with Akrivia or Greubel Forsey among others. But definitely deserving of the attention.
Thanks so much!

@@adamw.7169 You’re comparing very different price ranges though.
i'm glad you put the spotlight on the artists first because these watches are first exactly that: art. the watches are just the medium the artists put themselves into. they aren't the best of watches but they are special.
I loved the Colour Venn but I wish it wasn't over $500. What a neat concept though.
Eff it, I just bought it. $569.63 after taxes. Thank you Watchfinder & Co for the heads up.
This is my first "Swiss movement" watch not including my System 51 that broke right after I bought it (super disappointing).
How do you tell the time on this one?
@@Shri_V Although possible, that's not really the point of this one.
If you look closely there’s a small line on the edge of the colored discs that point to the time
@@BleachCowboy2016 I see it now but its so subtle! At 6:49, what is the time? I'm guessing around 2 : 50 ?
@@Shri_V ten to one, assuming the blue disc is hours, red minutes, yellow seconds (i.e. the blue circle is pointing roughly to 2, but you know from the red that it hasn't quite gotten there rather than being a lot past there.) Oh sorry "cyan magenta yellow". I really like it, bummer that the lines are very subtle and apparently they aren't too quality according to OP.
Loved this video, and loved learning about a cool brand like this. I hope to see more videos like this, really giving micro brands some well deserved attention
Happy to see Mr. Jones watches being mentioned in this channel! Well deserved!
I have A Perfectly Useless Morning and I love it so much, it's a quiet, reflective, somehow homely watch. A fox lays sleepily curled up while a golden bird circles lazily above. The glint of silver birches and a crown of leaves complete the scene. The colours, light play, and depth are so alluring. What's more, it's incredibly easy to read too, the wingtip and leaf serving perfectly as minute and hour hands. One thing I would mention is that your macro shots make the printing edges look fuzzy in some places and I'd like to re-assure viewers that under my 10x loupe I don't see anything like the fuzzy edges shown in some of these shots. Maybe I just got lucky?!
I have a Mr. Jones Green Man. Great value for a jumping hour watch even if the stock strap isn't that great. Nothing an inexpensive silicone replacement didn't fix.
Thank you for this video. Nice to see interesting affordable watxhes being reviewed by "high end" watch channels like yours.
Fantastic watch series.
I have a suggestion for your website.
A sub category for unique and strange watches.
I have an absolute plethora of interesting watches on this channel over the many years and have, at times, found it difficult to find them on your website.
Like I said though, just a suggestion.
This is the kind of watch many of us were gifted as a child, but made into one for us as adults. I love that.
Mine just arrived and your description is accurate.
I’m glad to see Mr. Jones here. I just recently acquired one of their watches (The Silent Thief) and I’m super happy with it.
This looks like a more mature version of Swatch. Swatch always talk about art on your wrist but tbh most look pretty boring. Mr Jones however does achieve what Swatch can't and create affordable art for your wrist
I was about to purchase the "Richochet" but then I saw the "The Ascendent" and immediately got in love with the uniqueness of the piece. I'm thrilled to put it on my wrist!
At the moment, I have 3 Mr Jones Watches and they're all amazing. They're so full of character and at an affordable price, you can't go wrong!
Thank you!
an entire video dedicated to Mr Jones watches, what a way to end the week
I love these. Great video!
I have the King of Spades jump hour. Got it during their 50% of Anniversary sale. Great addition to the collection and it was a special edition they don’t make anymore.
You lucky bastard! I've been hunting one for a reasonable price for quite a while now :( Enjoy it bro! :)
Wow...this is really cool design😍 love that colour venn
I just ordered my Mr. Jones Watch thanks to their 25% off Black Friday deal. I went with the "A perfectly useless afternoon" with a turquoise rubber strap. Can't wait to wear it during pool season.
Enjoy your watch, hope you like it 😉
@@kristoftekent it just arrived and it's fantastic. Looking at it makes me miss the warmth of summer. Thank you for giving us such a fantastic and evocative design.
I bought The Promise of Happiness a couple of years ago because I loved reading a book about a Tiger with my daughter. I picked up a Guilded Skull a few months ago in their sale, and possibly tempted by the Number Cruncher if they have a good Black Friday discount.
Thank you!
I have a Mr. Jones' Nuage watch. For the price, it's quite good. The case design is quite underwhelming and the weight of the watch feels quite cheap, but the actual artistry on the dial and the gilding of the crystal is real cool. Hard to get that type of artisan style on a watch under $1000, let alone $400.
This video may have become part of my top 5 ever! Whimsical squared!
I have a Mr.Jones and I love it
For under 300$, it's incredible quality, the materials feel premium, and the bands are great
I want every design they put out, just can't afford sadly
I was thinking of a clock or watch idea using CMYK colored panels, similar to Felipe Pantone's kinetic sculptures, to tell time. I'm glad to see that watch already exists! I'm excited to hopefully own one 😁
The seconds throwing random numbers around in themonsters belly is such a neat detail
Its subtle but go rewatch it to see it
never have I ever imagined the term “Interaction Design” would be mentioned in this channel
truly great insights into a new perspective on watch making
I was about to comment the same. This field is so underrated yet so rich where one gets to study human psychology and how people interact with things. Truly amazing.
I myself am starting my education in the same field next year in canada.
So excited ✨
lol, check Drozd, Cristophe Claret, Chaykin.. etc...
I like the quirky sense of humour so I was considering getting one of these for a while, but I wasn't mad on the style of the lugs/strap, so I went with a Vague Sailing Snoopy watch instead.
That Color Venn watch is incredible.
i recently bought 'A Perfectly Useless Evening'...Love it...although the image on the dial is frustratingly misaligned at the 12 mark although I'm trying to convince myself that it adds to the charm
Thought you would've put a link to Mr Jones' website.
Love them // maybe do a table or/and wall versions // if wrist versions were rugged enough...
Finally I watch we can find and buy..thank u
Hey Mr. Hands: You mentioned it briefly as the reminder of mortality, but "The Accurate" is the horological equivalent of a sharp swing of a Zen stick to the lower back. "Remember, you will die." Mr. Jones is clearly not just an artist, but a bodhissatva. And oh yeah, that colour Venn watch is brilliant.
This is you at your best and, what makes you a unique horological resource, Andrew.
I’d like to see him do an alternative to that expensive oil filled watch but with the transparency circles technique at an affordable price point.
🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂 learn some things about that watch and then figure it out how to make it affordable... It's like saying I want Voutilainen for under 10k... moron..
I agree, putting the movement aside which I think is obvious from your comment - that face style lends itself to a reinterpretation using this technique.
@@mongabudi totally 💯
Website now saved to my home screen, one of the selection will be my next watch. Appreciate you running this and spreading the word, I hadn't heard of them before this.
Just save some money for a real watch with proper mechanism... or just by a seiko... still better than that mr.Jones crap..
I bought an Everyday Special 11 years ago as my wedding day watch. Means I can never forget my wedding anniversary, as its literally written on the hands!
I would love if you can review the Serica 5303-3. I have plans of getting it and would really like to see if you can review it. It has a nice backstory with how Serica is founded.
Honestly, you don't need a review. Buy that Serica; I own one and it's an absolute gem in every way.
Should i get the quartz or automatic version?
I purchased "The Last Laugh" 40mm this summer for $295
Love the review. Already on my radar and now I ordered one. Finally a unique and affordable watch. Thanks!
thanks for ordering!
@@MrJonesWatches1 Looking forward to the Perfectly Useless Afternoon 😎
Have you ever saw Alexander Shorokhoff collection? What do you think of it? Personally, I think is very similar in some way to Mr. Jones. Great review!
I own the Koi Pond watch, and it’s so wonderful.
Perfectly useless morning, is enchanting. If visit their Oxo tower showroom, it's fun staring at the dials for signs of movement, to figure out the minute and hour "indicators". Feel they should be hung in a gallery, than shop space.
Interactive design. Such an underrated field. Thats what apple does, designs "Interactions".
just copped the perfectly useless afternoon, but ive been looking at getting one for years :)
Love these watches! We’ve got quite a few now - stunners.
Thank you!
"ay you with the watch what time is it"
Me with this watch " I have no idea"
I bought the quartz The Accurate, mentioned in this video but not shown. It’s a fairly normal watch except for the hand saying “remember” and the minute hand saying “you will die”. 😂
thanks just ordered the ufo watch from mr jones just love it !
Wow this are so cool. This is art.
Lol, “most have never worked on a watch before…” is a lot truer than we wanted.
I got 4,and 2 had quality control issues. One I fixed with my watch tools, the other I took to my friendly neighborhood horologist who fixed it for free out of curiosity.
I am supportive of upstarts but the casual attitude pf the workers seen on the site reflected on the products sent out.
I was going to order a few as gifts but I didn’t want to burden my friends with unpleasant surprises.
May I know what your QC issues were?
Thanks for another great video
This is incredible!
Perfectly Useless Afternoon is iconic!
Thank you ☺️
They do ship World wide, they sent mine to México and it arrived in less than 4 days !!!!
The layering reminds me of Cartier mystery clocks.
fortunately i purchased a preowned version of MJW which was not mentioned here. hope less people will know and retain the rarity and uniqueness
Projects Watches is similar. I just ordered from them. Similar in design philosophy and fun little watches
Need the next episode on project watches.
I like these so much. One of these days - sooner rather than later - I need to put my money where my mouth is and buy one.
Watchfinder never misses!
Very interesting brand. I would like to have one of each. They remind me of the creativity seen on the first swatches but at a higher level.
What's up with the long lugs? They kinda inhibit me from getting it!
My issue with Mr Jones is that their lower end models have cheap quartz movements with quality control issues. I just wish Mr Jones would more a little bit up market to pair their quality dials with high quality builds. At the moment they're (mostly) fashion watches with expertly executed dials.
Idk about their QC issues, but I think quartz movements are better long term cuz it won't be needed to get it serviced. Just imagine what takes to disassemble those watches.
What a cool watch brand.
I’ve just ordered the silent thief watch from mr Jones a couple of days ago.
thank you!
Watches that make the Moonswatch look like a ripoff. I love them
I just went to their site and wow are they cool. They remind me of Swatch back in the 80s, only cooler. I want all of them.
thank you!
Projects Watches also lets artists and designers create interesting, if less emotional, watches that sell from about $US 100. I keep telling myself I should buy the Till Watch but keep forgetting. This is a watch that tells the time in words using hands
Reminder to buy that watch :) I just bought the Persistent. They currently have a sale + 10% for you first order.
Making the watch world fun again.
His watches are awesome.
Another banger🎉
I can easily foresee that giant Swatch group will buy Mr. Jones company in a few years for a some millions of dollars and it becomes a part of Swatch Group alongside with other mass population brand of Swatch, or they make it a part of brand/line inside Swatch.
Nope, never!
Just convinced me to pull the trigger on one.
thank you!
The robots remind me of the illustrations done for Dance Gavin Dance
I love this
There was a guy who tried something like this. Whimsical Watches.
utter genius
Seasonal watches are brilliant
I've had the Promise of Happiness since 2019 I think, and it really is a piece of art! (It is pretty hard to tell the time though 😂 I'll concede)
Thats the one i was thinking of buying can i ask why its hard to tell the time seems pretty straightforward to me?
@@grizzlymang1930 It is straightforward to see, but the numbers are pretty small, so it's impossible to see in darker conditions, and harder to tell time at a glance. Still perfectly readable though! (I've also got a Nomos, which is super legible, making the tiger watch seem a bit harder to read in comparison, haha) That said I do really love the Promise of Happiness, the layers of printing give it nice depth, and the creativity that went into it can't be beat!
i would not call it a bargain watch at a price at check out around 300 euros i think there is better options, the watches look cool
Ordered 2 based on the review.
thank you!
The only bad thing I've heard about them is the quality
I have some mr Jones watches
Oddly enough I have just bought “The Accurate”.
Love Mr. Jones art work that goes with these watches & the prices are affordable so anyone can pick them up & enjoy. :)
Crappy watches.. pretty, but crappy... for that price you can get a Chinese tourbillon..
@@SuperSeytan666 Yeah a Chinese tourbillion that will crap out on you in a week time. 🤣
@@KeyKiller74 Have one for over 6yres now, works perfectly..
Nice
They look like toys to me.
I really like these, and I can afford them!
These are sick
Good luck getting one. They always sell out by scalpers.
I have the alien one coming in the mail.
thank you!
CJ&F, iv you will!
These look fantastic! Mr. Jones is a real hidden gem in the watch industry (to me). The fact that they're affordable means one will definitely make it's way into my collection.
lol read my comment above...
Far Out Man..!😎🙏🙏🙏
I have the Ricochet by Mr. Jones (aka Pinball Robots). Here are some of my opinions about it, in no particular order:
- The Sea-gull jump hour movement, while simple and probably a bit inexpensive, is fun and keeps good time.
- The watch's spacing in the design of the viewing window and the numerals is so good that it's surprisingly - a little uncannily - legible.
- I hadn't been sure if I would enjoy such a bright watch, but now that I have one, I'd say the color temperature and balance makes this a warm watch much more than a bright one.
- It's cool that Mr. Jones offers a good variety of straps, too. I bought the Ricochet on the vegan leather (vinyl, I suppose) and that was good.
- Mine had actually needed to go back to Mr. Jones for repair of some minor dial defects (during warranty period). The staff were friendly and helpful via email, and so It doesn't bother me that I had had to send the watch in.
I would be happy to buy from Jones again in the future.
Thank you, this is super kind!
This guy seems like a watch chad hahaha!
Hopefully Mr. Jones isn't trying to make us drink the bad Kool-aid, we know how that worked out............
