another amazing video, however slight problem with the landing.... If you were to live the full Ryanair experience you should of slammed the 737 into the ground nose first at mach 2 and then do a 180 at the end of the runway. then annoyed some controllers. But apart from that great video! +Matt Davies
Watched this, thoroughly enjoyed it, and jumped back into the NG for old times' sake. Started at night, and promptly discovered my landing lights don't work, the runway lights were glitchy, GSX shat the bed when trying to ask for boarding, EzDok put my cockpit camera inside the jetway outside, and I had to reinstall the NGX to get the FMC buttons to work. Oh, P3D. Your planes are so brilliant, but why does everything else about you feel so broken. :( Time for yet another re-install I guess...
The trim is a separate system and you want to have it trimmed before push. Also, you want to have the Pito heat and you want to have all hydraulic switches on before engine start. The checklist goes: Hydraulic panel (set), beacon (on), Transponder (XPNRD) and then breaks release, ready to push.
Merry Christmas Matt, thanks for producing amazing content for RUclips and twitch this year. I'm using you tweak guide for my p3d v3 on my new computer that I'm getting for Christmas, thank you in advance for the results, merry Christmas and a happy new year! :-)
Super video Matt.... looked like fun... been flightsimming since mid 90s... used to fly Vatsim... think I'm going to get back to it... always a bit intimidating.. but always such fun... thanks
If I had to take a guess, I would say the trim on the 37 is mechanically driven, with the electric motor actuating the mechanical push-rod. I don't think it has full surface trim, like the 27, and its not large enough to warrant full hydraulic trim. Plus, the control surfaces have mechanical back ups, so this seems like a in theme choice for boeing.
Top video Matt, my home airport GP, the spotting mound will be no more in the future due work on sterilisation for full CATIII ops. Nice to see Vatsim busy at my local, may give it a try sometime :)
Nice vid matt. To help you with the descent profile (CDA) into LPL you can do what we do and put in an FMC profile. We use the following for right hand downwind 27. TIPOD (FL60B) EGGP360/4 (4000b) 59DME 360/4 (2500B) 59DME (2000) Hope this helps
Hey Matt, great video. One little thing: I have heard from some people that in real life, pilots tend to use flaps 40 if the landing weight exceeds 60 tons. Helps a little with your pitch.
I spot what appears to be the wings of the BAe 146/Avro RJ in your channel art - is it possible for you to do a flight with that sometime? Maybe the Qualitywings version? Great aircraft, amazingly detailed! And if you do - how about flying the CityJet flight 19 (London City to Paris Orly) in the RJ85?
Can you do an approach video for Geneva Cointrin International Airport (LSGG), (GVA). The vieu of the lake is amazing! Now they added to Vatsim the fountain!
Hi Matt, in case you didn't already know the item in the middle of the two call signs at 4:29 is the latch the is used to hold/release the overhead (P5) panel.
Hi Matt please can you do an updated tutorial on Vpilot modelmatching? Im having trouble getting it to work and would be great if you could help. Thanks!
If the trim was hydraulically controlled you wouldn't see the trim indicator.move and when you press the trim switchs the noise you here is the electric motors moving
+Matt Davies The trim is electro-mechanical. There's a jackscrew changing the pitch of the entire tailplane. You can see the groove for the connection as a "slot" on the side of the fuselage, just shy of the leading edge of the stabiliser. The motor is on the gearbox in the tail, it is connected to a big wire-cable drum below the pedestal and chains connect the trimwheels to the drum. Hence all the noise :P
I recognized that "Break" as well. If you're controlling, and you need to be given a readback, NEVER say break. That causes indiscipline on frequency, and everybody will talk at the same time with the other. If you're stressed, say the calling station a standby instead of giving a clearance and breaking. Just a tip, if a ATCo is reading this.
Hi Matt, answering your question about if you turn off the seatbelt signs on a short flight like Dublin to Liverpool. Well earlier on today I just came from Dublin to Liverpool and the captain did not turn off the seat belt sign but crew still preceded to do the duty free/ drinks and snack service through the cabin. There's no real point turning off the seatbelt signs, I think passengers would rather go to the lavatory at the airport than have to pay £1 on the plane haha.
Hi, Matt. Could you make a video flying drunk? That would bring more reality to the experience since that's the way cool American Airlines pilots do it.
I really want to start to get into this I bought Prepar3D v2.5 professional a while ago and the pmdg 737 NGX and after a bunch of tutorials i still couldn't learn how to perfectly take off & land so i just stopped trying because all the tutorials I found are just people not explaining too much or they're to fast, sucks because I really would love to learn but great vid :)
Start off with one of the default aircraft, learn the basics and then build your way up to something more complex like the NGX. There's a whole community of really great people in flightsim who would definitely be able to give you a hand if you're stuck. Happy Christmas
Matt, can you show a replay after you land? I would absolutely love to see your beautiful landings from the tower or from the outside view. Thanks, Adan
+AlphaProject I think you can get them from Places like simbrief too. After making the FP, Just download the right file for that Aircraft and store it in Documents/MicrosoftFlightSimulator
Hello fellow simmers! I have a pretty dumb question...when i click where he clicks (for toga), nothing happens..i set up everything correctly im sure...Maybe it's worth noting that my pmdg 737 has things where his area is blank where it says isfd heading from left irs only. What is this?
Dear Sir, would it be possible to do a flight between Hong Kong and Auckland either with: Cathay Pacific Boeing 777-300ER Air New Zealand Boeing 777-300ER or Boeing 787-9
THANKYOU. THANKYOU for all the work u put in making these vids you inspired me. So thank you very much matt keep on making vids they are really cool. @belynz
Your landings are getting better every time unlike me I haven't flown for a while and the other day I thought I will have a go and I missed the runway..
Ok so Irish airlines, you mainly use RyanAir, if you could find one could you do an Aer Lingus flight from Dublin to Liverpool? Or has absolutely no one given a crap bout Aer Lingus for vatsim I like to use the atc scanner and all you can hear is shamrock (millions of different configs) call signs left and right and I've never seen that in vatsim ever. Just a thought and keep up the great work :)
another amazing video, however slight problem with the landing....

Hahahaha!!! Made me laugh.
I was looking for this comment
+Demilade Ogunremi Me too he said it in the stream
+Guus te Wierik lol
+Dafydd Rees ryanair landings 2/10
aer lingus landing 9.5/10
Watched this, thoroughly enjoyed it, and jumped back into the NG for old times' sake. Oh, P3D. Your planes are so brilliant, but why does everything else about you feel so broken. :( Time for yet another re-install I guess...
+Matt Davies You should do Manchester to Geneva with easyjet
I had to do about 5 reinstalls i think until i fixed all my issues with p3d v3. Now it runs beautifully
.
that landing was too smooth for ryanair xD

I believe the stabilizer is moved by an electrically driven motor! Or via cables connected to the trimwheel. No need for hydraulic pressure :)
Glad to see you back on channel Matt. Nice flight in rough weather!
Merry Christmas Matt, thanks for producing amazing content for RUclips and twitch this year. I'm using you tweak guide for my p3d v3 on my new computer that I'm getting for Christmas, thank you in advance for the results, merry Christmas and a happy new year! :-)

No in the NG its electrical trim on the yoke and manual trim wheel
One of the best videos in my opinion for a while, to say if was a short flight it was jam packed!!
If I had to take a guess, I would say the trim on the 37 is mechanically driven, with the electric motor actuating the mechanical push-rod. Top video Matt, my home airport GP, the spotting mound will be no more in the future due work on sterilisation for full CATIII ops.
Nice to see Vatsim busy at my local, may give it a try sometime :)
Welcome back Matt, we've missed you! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Yes, the trim is connected to the hydraulic system.

Great video Matt, it's good to see Liverpool being staffed more and more!
Hi Matt!
Can you share your Ezdok settings for the aerosoft a320 please?
Hey Matt, great video. One little thing: I have heard from some people that in real life, pilots tend to use flaps 40 if the landing weight exceeds 60 tons. Helps a little with your pitch.

My flight home from Auckland in New Zealand in a 777 had an outside temp of -55c at FL370
As a child i used to play FSX with frames between 5-10..
Wellcome back Matt!! and merry christmas
Glad things are back to normal now matt! Have a happy Christmas :)
yep. cant adjust trim in the 777 without hydro's
hey Matt i have watched this video at least 5 times since you put it out :D. Cant wait for more Ryanair flights
Thanks for 2015, Matt. All the very best for the new year!
Can you do an approach video for Geneva Cointrin International Airport (LSGG), (GVA). The vieu of the lake is amazing! Now they added to Vatsim the fountain!

Hi Matt please can you do an updated tutorial on Vpilot modelmatching? Im having trouble getting it to work and would be great if you could help. Thanks!
737-800 has got to be one of the best aircraft
bmxwaffle with an Airbus a380 pic
I was on an aer lingus flight when i was like 9yrs old and it was a shite flight bouncing round like a basket ball then a hardass landing at liverpool

Could you do some Scandinavian Airlines flights? I would prefer one that has the 737-600.
Merry x-mas matt great video!!!
That black "click spot" is for removing the overhead and used by engineers.
Awesome video, one of your best, Matt!
Sound pack name Matt ? :D

I was RYR589X from Tenerife when you were landing at Liverpool ;-)
Hi Matt, answering your question about if you turn off the seatbelt signs on a short flight like Dublin to Liverpool. Andy. D we don't have to pay 1€ to use it from Dublin to lanzarote
Hi, Matt. Could you make a video flying drunk? That would bring more reality to the experience since that's the way cool American Airlines pilots do it.
The answer to your trim question is: 'The pitch control surfaces consist of hydraulically powered elevators and an electrically powered stabilizer'
+Matt Davies The Ryanair logo is on one winglet only? Compare them 12:04 and 12:07
I really want to start to get into this I bought Prepar3D v2.5 professional a while ago and the pmdg 737 NGX and after a bunch of tutorials i still couldn't learn how to perfectly take off & land so i just stopped trying because all the tutorials I found are just people not explaining too much or they're to fast, sucks because I really would love to learn but great vid :)

TPFlyer thank you :D happy holidays to yourself also!
***** thanks for the advice, really appreciate it, merry christmas!! :)
Practicing will help you. You can't fly perfect at the first time :)
Watch doofer911
Ryanair logo on the left winglet not on the right winglet typical rayanair ;)
Great video Matt :)
Merry christmas matt! And a very happy 2016, thanks for the new video, keep it up dude!
Matt, can you show a replay after you land? I would absolutely love to see your beautiful landings from the tower or from the outside view.
Thanks,
Adan
Where do you get those company routes from ?
+AlphaProject I think you can get them from Places like simbrief too. After making the FP, Just download the right file for that Aircraft and store it in Documents/MicrosoftFlightSimulator
Pls upload this soundfile for the ngx. It sounds AMAZING.
He said that he isn't allowed to distribute it for fuck sake.
+Matt Davies Thanks for the Xmas gift Merry Christmas and have a good one!
Can you do a flight from LaGuardia to Detroit using the pmdg 737. In the Delta livery
Hey Matt great video. Just thought I'd suggest a flight. BAW2167 service from EGKK to KTPA in a 777. Thanks
Hello fellow simmers! I have a pretty dumb question...when i click where he clicks (for toga), nothing happens..i set up everything correctly im sure...Maybe it's worth noting that my pmdg 737 has things where his area is blank where it says isfd heading from left irs only. What is this?
+Matt Davies yes it is
+Matt Davies I googled and I guess 40% N1 is a must, so now it works. Thanks :P
ohhh yayyyy Merry Christmas matt hope u enjoy it and keep up the great videos
I wonder if he would try a delta flight from Atlanta to cape town
What is the song called used in the video at 24:41?
There was an attend button on that aircraft
That just makes that noise you hear in an aircraft before any announcement by the flight attendant and/or the captain.
its also to call one of the cabin crew or cabin crew talking to one another
Another great video Matt --- From a new subscriber - God bless!
I noticed the wingview at 12:05 is at the same viewpoint I had the last time I flew in a 737 :3
Hi Matt, if you watch KLM 737 cockpit video, they trimmed at the gate :)
I wish these sounds were available somewhere
how do you get the the different aircrafts parcked up at the gate like the EasyJet
Great video, you should definitely do more with ATC ! Merry Xmas
@45:15, "I cannot find the hold button on my computer". Love it.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year Matt!

Matt can you do london(heathrow) to jakarta(soekarno-hatta) in a 777?
I think on the right winglet there is no ryanair logo. Is it like on the real aircraft? Because normally there is one ;)

Ok so Irish airlines, you mainly use RyanAir, if you could find one could you do an Aer Lingus flight from Dublin to Liverpool?
