Hi thanks for that!! Great video! I would like to use my Garmin 5X as a golf watch. How would I sync the Garmin golf app to my watch? I have already installed the app on my phone and I also sync the watch to the phone.
I believe you have to set the golf app on your watch to one of your favourites, and load each particular course you want to play to the watch via the Garmin gold app on your phone

Hi, can't seem to find the Control Menu on Fenix 5S!!! It should be under the System menu but isn't there - any thoughts?
Thank you for the video. I use a Garmin alpha 50 with a t50 Collor for my dog. When i Connect the fenix 5 to the dogcollor, and Mark a point, is it Then the Watch position or the collor position i am maring ?

Holy shit, mine is just labeled controls and not controls menu so I thought I may have deleted something so I hit restore defaults and deleted everything I had saved and had to starry from scratch. Lol oh well I'm putting it all back and it's helping me get more familiar with this system which can be complicated at first so it's a net plus I guess. These videos are a life saver though. Thanks again!
Your right , when garmin updated the Fenix firmware to 8.0 they changed from control menu to just controls
It´s possible to delete some items from de control menu? Oh. by the way...thank you for all you tutorials. They are excellent.
Thank you , I have a few more videos coming soon , you can remove items from the control menu in the same way as adding them , just select the item you want to remove and go to remove , it should also be noted that from firmware 7.10 onwards the control menu setting can be reached by long pressing the up button for the setting menu then going to settings then controls , here you can select the items you want to add or remove.
My Fenix 6 is looping on start up watch wont allow me to reset. When it displays the default setting I don't have time to push as the triangle reappears. Any suggestions
Do a soft reset by pressing and holding the power button for 20-30 seconds , see if that helps
I've got the 5X but no flashlight. Strange. Sure wish the steps worked. I go up and down the stairs a dozen times a day. So many times it will say 3 Up and 8 down, or some silly thing like that. I've even tried holding my hands over my head and walking around upstairs.... but it rarely seems to add anything to my workout.

One question though, when I access my controls by long pressing the light button, and there is the small bar that indicates there are more controls than what can be displayed, is there a way to access those extra controls? or it is just for information only?
Danny Ben-Yakar thanks , you can access the extra controls by rotating the screen using the up and down buttons on the watch until the icon you want to select is highlighted, the extra controls should appear from behind the bar when the screen rotates
I imagine this video would be useful if by pressing and holding the Up/Menu button would actually access the Menu on my new fenix 5X. Such is not the case.

Hi ive just got the fenix 5 and I was just wondering can you actually nav with it I.E type in a grid and get to that grid with out using a map thanks
Yes you can if you choose the sport or app you want I.e run , the press the up button for options and select navigation , then go to coordinates and enter the grid reference , then the watch will direct you to this using an arrow, hope this helps

Hello, im looking at buying the Fenix 5x and how long is the battery life in smart watch mode? My current Samsung watch gets 8 hours.
Only have to charge my 5x once a week and sometimes not even that, the battery life is excellent
I've had one of these watches for 2 years.
I got it to use for rowing.
I have to say.....
It is the hardest watch I've ever had to use.
It has plenty of "useless" features that no one would ever use, but can't do even the simplest of tasks.
I've tried downloading the user menu, and watched all the tutorials. They are useless.

Is there a shortcut for turning the wrist HR on/off nice and easy? Without going through the long menus?
+skrivebom not for the heart rate , best you can do is set it to auto detect
Someone with the F5 said you could hold the up button in the HR widget to get to the HR options. Is that correct?
+skrivebom that is true , but you only get the option to either set it to off or auto, you can’t add it to the control menu or a hot key.
I´m not able to edit the control meny. there is no Controls menu in between "do not disturb" and "hot keys" I have software ver 7.10
Your right it has changed slightly in 7.10 , long press the up button for settings then select settings then select controls , from here you can add or remove items on the control menu, hope this helps
I found it, it´s placed on level up between Widgets and Watch face

I have a 5splus and had the same problem. Long press UP button to get to Watch face, down to settings, select, then down to controls menu.
Your ahead of me with the plus series , but try long pressing the power button to get to the control menu, then like no press the up button , this should bring a menu up to add or remove control menu items

Any of them really , if you don’t need mapping then the 5 or 5s will be more than good, if you need mapping then it has t be the 5x

How do you change the date on these watches?
Long press the up button to go to settings , go to clock, go to sync with GPS, this should set both time and date

If you want maps then it has to be the 5x , otherwise the 5 is a great watch

Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds , this should sort reset the watch
hilux58 how long is it supposed to stay like that? When the battery dies shouldn't the screen go black? It's been stuck on that screen now for 2 weeks
It shouldn’t stay like that , that it the watch startup screen , should only show for a few seconds , have you tried holding the power button down to see if it resets, hold it down until the screen goes blank
Where did you find the Breitling watch face? It looks nice on the 5x.
+Steve Rowe its called B GMT Dark and its on the Garmin IQ store , the logo is switched on in the settings for the watchface on the Garmin Connect app

Could you go into a little more detail about bringing up the logo Please.
On your computer go to Garmin express then click on manage apps. Scroll down till you see the B GMT Dark that you downloaded from the Connect App. Click on the three dots next to the word configurable and the switch to turn on the logo should appear. Turn it on, save and sync.

Yes it has a Track back function which will redirect you back to the start point

Where did you find your watch face?
It’s called B GMT Dark and its on the garmin connect IQ store , you switch the logo on in the settings for the watchface on your phone on the Garmin connect app

Garmin says you can't change the battery in these watches. I know people their watches are dead after two years! THIS IS SHAME and this is GARBAGE PRODUCTION. Expensive garbage...
Odd as I know a lot of people with garmin watches and none of them have had battery issues
I've had my Fenix 3 more than 3 years, battery still same as the day I bought it as far as I can tell. Charge it every 2nd week or so when not using GPS.
Mine is still going strong too , no noticeable drop in battery life
