Sad and also creepy. That's a fragment of the cockpit voice recording from Japan Airlines Flight 123 (Monday, August 12, 1985). 520 people died in that crash, including the entire flight crew. Only 4 people survived. More people would have survived if Japan hadn't delayed the search and rescue, and hadn't declined assistance from the US military.

This automatically makes me think, "Rest in Peace, Kyu Sakamoto". He died on this flight; he sang the pop tune "Sukiyaki" as a one-hit Japanese wonder for his time, long before J-pop. Please look up the true lyrics sometime. He sings, "I hold my head up high so my tears won't fall". It's a touching song set to a surprisingly upbeat tune with a silly Americanized title.

The most disturbing bit is where it says pull up
That's the voice of the Airplane,, the GPWS (Ground Proximity Warning System).
If the airplane is descending too fast while near the ground and landing, the prerecorded voice will say "Sinkrate, Pull Up!". If the airplane detects that the ground is approaching moderately fast and the airplane isnt in landing configuration, the Voice will warn "Whoop Whoop Terrain! Whoop Whoop Terrain!".. If the ground is approaching extremely fast, the warning is "Whoop Whoop Pull-Up! Whoop Whoop Pull-Up!" In order to hear the last one, you either need to be in a dive, or approaching the side of rising terrain like a mountain. JAL 123 was approaching the side of a mountain, Mount Fuji. The Boeing 747 GPWS system was warning the pilots that the ground was rising beneath the plan, that the airplane was on a collision course with less than 3000 feet of vertical Clearance remaining, and that they needed to apply max engine power and max climb rate to save the airplane.
If you type "GPWS" into google, you can hear the GPWS and TCAS warning alarms for various airplanes.. They are all very frightening.
"Supposedly" it's on rare pressing of this album. Funny thing is I've listened top this CD for Years and even while taking a Japanese class I didn't hear it as Japanese until I read about this hidden track insert.

Yup. from one of the worst aviation disasters ever. the name of the plane escapes me but it was Japanese and happened in 1985.
Japan Airlines 123. 1985, Crashed in mountain, 520 or so People dead. Singer Kyu Sakamoto was one of them. One of the WORST aviation disasters EVER.

And we also hear 4 men fighting to the end, against a machine that has already betrayed them, and is taking them to their death.
It is a miracle that there were survivors because the plane did not arrive at low speed... Especially since we now know that others survived and died during the night. The 4 survivors were all women, and all in the last 3 rows of the plane.
This disaster will cause 522 deaths... 520 in the plane, the JAL maintenance manager, as well as the Boeing engineer who had checked the repair, committed suicide. May they all be at peace!
Not even about it, it IS the CVR of JAL123. The single highest passanger death count in aviation history.

They ditched it from Japanese market pressings (obviously) and later US-pressings.
Only the first few sets got the hidden track.
On European versions it's in Reise Reise's pregap, on the US you get it at the start of the song.
If I recall the first US pressing just had it at the beginning of the album without any secret method. The negative time is on EU releases.

Honestly I just thought that's how the song started, because on my copy of the disk the album starts with this audio

This is one thing that is tripping me up from being able to rip the full CD Myself... I have an older CD drive that might do the trick... but only if I can make it work with my newer PCs. Seems a lot of the common ripping software just doesn't want to work.
Exact Audio Copy should be able to detect & rip it, but I don't have any CDs with hidden tracks to confirm that.
In Japan... It's problem. Japanese is very angry. This accident is very sad.
Is this track rip-able? Should I try to find it on the Internet, or it's impossible for someone to uploaded it if he ripped the CD?

Not really a hidden track though. It's the intro and I have always heard it being played as track #1 on several different players as well as cds from all my freinds
It was part of the first track for the 2004 disc pressings in America. 2005 and after that it was removed.
It depends on the age of the CD player and how they interpolate data.

Well sometimes you only get stuff from musicians on vinyl or cassette, but yeah iTunes / Amazon and Google Play Store are the worst with their shitty VBR .mp3-alike formats.

Windows 4K maybe my cd player just doesnt have the playback that his does.
I'm late to the party but this track is only on 2004 US and EU releases. US plays it at the beginning of the album, EU in negative time like shown in the video

It's Japan flight 123. It's not hidden, just some copies of album have shitty pressing.
Ash Phillips Nope, it's just a method to trick out CD Players, the hidden Track is assigned as track 0, but every Player starts with track 1. It's done by altering the TOC of the CD before pressing. Maybe some versions of the album just don't have this hidden Track.
Dracoony my mate's wouldn't start at the recorder part, just at the percussion. His came from USA, my copy played it just fine as the „Reise, Reise” song. Mine is German. That is why I believed different press quality.

I sold it short after making this Video. It was never used to alter the sound, only for the fun of watching its display flashing ;)

Why would Rammstein even put this on their CD? Listening to people die isn't exactly an "ester egg" ...I mean have a little respect man.
In a way, this isn't all that surprising. They named the band after the Ramstein Airshow accident (1988). The second "M" was added so the name means "Ramming Stone." Rammstein's self-titled song on the album Herzeleid (1995) is also a reference to the event.
TheKenchanx and the bloody case has a depiction of a flight recorder. It would have fit better with Dalai Lama better, as that song is about in-flight issues. Not sure how people weren't expecting that.
Rammstein originally wanted to call themselves Ramstein and added the second m by accident because they thought that Ramstein was written with 2 m's. Also in their very early phase they called themselves "Rammstein Flugshow"

I think they respect those catastrophic accidents. Especially since Flake (a member of the band) is afraid of taking flights. I dont think Rammstein wants to disrespect victims of flight accidents. I think they want to tell the community that humans do not belong to the air just as they say/sing in "Dalai Lama".

Kevin Reppenhagen my mate's disk played it differently than mine. His acted like it was separate, mine did not. Got mine back in Germany, his was from America.
