Very unfortunate that the MSU shooting had to happen, especially so close to this premiere. I'm glad to hear it was so few casualties, but it shouldn't have been allowed to happen in the first place.
I agree with James Bold and Ace that something needs to change.
The shooter apparently wouldn’t have been able to legally own a gun in the first place had he been charged properly by the DA handling a previous criminal case he was involved in.

A few years ago a Congressman was shot at their annual Congress softball game and nothing has changed.
Even if he had died or more, there would just be more security and banning of guns around Congressional people instead of as a whole as the gun lobby is too damned powerful.
California has strict gun control laws, but that didn’t stop two mass shootings from occurring there last month.

And Chicago has a high murder rate as well even though they have tough gun laws similar to California.
Both have the same problem, though: Anyone can bring in guns from elsewhere in the US and no one can stop them.
Federal gun laws would be a start to help curb this insane epidemic of violence and fetishizing of guns.

The 2nd Amendment does NOT say "we the people".
In fact, it starts off with "A well regulated militia". Well regulated. Which means rules and regulations.
Regulating weapons was written into the 2nd Amendment from the moment quill was put to parchment back in 1791.
And given how things are in this country, I wish I was European.

It was never revealed, even after Valentine's Day.

With more mass shootings than days in the USA now, every discussion about gun control will always be just after a tragedy. The facts show that the USA has the highest rate of gun homicide per 100,000 people in the "First" world, by an obscenely large margin. I hope that eventually steps are taken to lower this gruesome statistic because clearly the NRA approach of more guns is not working.
As a Californian, you can’t do shit about it regardless. You can try, you’ll just look even more stupid after a hundred more happen in a gun free zone. Also, it would piss the gun community off, which nobody wants because they have more guns than people, *and* outnumber the Marines and Army. Generally, we have the man power, and Arsenal to fuck shit up if the sleeping giant is pissed off out of its sleep, hence why you don’t wanna hit that hornets nest with a stick. It’s a murder hornet nest.
And this is why we need to remove valentine's day from existence and illegalize sex, dating, and marriages.
