He and his friends built some structures to provide clean water and energy to the platform (a big job, considering the platform was 11 km away from the coast), they created a passport, a local currency and wrote a constitution; Rosa called this newborn country "Isola delle Rose" (Island of the Roses). The first official inhabitant of It was a guy whose boat sank and randomly came across this platform in the middle of the sea. It became a really popular destination from tourist of that area but eventually the Italian government, worried that It could become a place for illegal gatherings and that It could provide a safe environment for criminals to hide, ordered Rosa and all of its tourists and inhabitans to abandon the Island. After the engineer said no multiple times, Italy literally declared war to the Island and sent some ships to intimidate Rosa and the other people. After some time, everyone left the Island and Rosa had to give up too at the end. Just a few days later, the Island was destroyed by the Italian Police with something like dynamite. Idk if I made some mistakes, I am not a native english speakers plus I don't remember all the details of the story.
