I'm 20 now, but I remember watching this so many times as a child. It was on one of those "over 50 hours of classics!" Cheap Multi DVD packs. I loved this movie and the story was seemingly so dreamy. What 10 year old me knew about getting evicted and process serving, I have no idea 😂.

Notice that Connie Boswell is sitting for each of her numbers. Connie sang from a wheelchair - or seated position - during her career, due to either a childhood bout with polio or a fall from the back of a coaster wagon. I like her voice but I really LOVE when she was with her sisters in the 1930s better.

I agree, women during most of the 20th century were truly beautiful. I also think women were funnier in the 20th century since they did more slapstick at that time (and very good slapstick) than any of the boring modern female comedians.
