I just got a vulcan 750 and so far this is my favorite I've found! I want to build something like it, like I want the exhaust to be one out each side, and I will hard tail mine and move the seat back as far as possible because I'm pretty tall. I like those handle bars they look perfect height and love the paint job!
My advice is just buy a sportster and chop it I had a 750 Vulcan and it was cool but at the same time you’ll probably be happier with a more authentic looking bike
@@connorchops710 I ended up doing a bunch of work to the bike and then sold it and bought a Honda fury, not a Harley fan and definitely don't fit on sportsters!
Thats a clean vulcan, that is the exact look im going for on mine. Where can I see more pictures? I would like to see more of how you mounted the rear fender braces and the diamond plate seat filler
Bro love your bike..i have a question I have the same exact bike but I have a problem ordering the grips ..what size are the grips on your bike u know the black grips on the handle bars?? My apologies my bike is a 2001 vulcan
honestly i think it was about the space and i had read that it stays cooler if you expose it like i did. i never had stator issues. ill have to pull this bike back out of the barn and get it cleaned back up. it hasn't been ridden in a couple years!
Hi I own an 86 Kawasaki Vulcan I it is also 750 I like some of your ideas but did you chop the frame on the back end because I'm trying not to do that even though you're sporting a look I like I like to see some more specifics so I'll be more than happy to give you my email and I'll exchange photos of how mine started and how money is right now my biggest problem is finding another useful wiring harness thanks
What is the ear shaving thing that you did. I took off my intake system and then put the Canon filters on like you did but I still have all those hoses running off from the old intake system. Do you get rid of all that that was underneath the seat?
Salvatore Volpe yes. Many people use a marble in the hose coming off the side of the cylinder but I chose to make plates to seal off the egr system all together.
Great looking bike and mods! What clutch cable did you end up getting? My bars are the same and I got a shorter clutch cable. But there still seems to be too much slack.
Byron nix ,I suggest you to try adjustment on the lever which has splines ,so ,you can move to another angle moving it backwards. If you already did, I just wanted to help!
@@januarioqueiroz3122 it just seems like I can’t adjust the clutch cable. My clutch bar engages almost all the way out. And I’d like it to be 3/4 to 1/2. I’m not running the stock cable. I have a shortened clutch cable. I may go back to the stock cable and just have a big clutch cable loop
Awesome bike, currently building one. I’m wondering what’s the height between the bolt where to top of the shock sit in and the floor, going after market lowering shocks. Thanks dude.
Can you explain me what you did to fix the rear fender on the swingarm? I'm trynna build something like yours on my new 96', but I will come up with something to fix the fenders AND have a passenger seat high enough.
i welded some 1/2" bar stock to the swing arm to hold the rear of the fender. the front of the fender is held down by a bolt i welded sticking up at the pivot point of the swing arm. i welded a flange on the fender to sit down on the bolt sticking up. i cut the fender about in half and removed the raised sections to give it a clean smooth finish. i know one of the videos shows the rear mounts better than the other. good luck!
where did you get your exhaust? right now i have some slash cut glass packs on the stock headers but i want the rear pipe to wrap under the bike like yours does.
So. I have the same bike. But have problem with. Bogging mid throttle. The faster I ride. The less throttle I have tell it starts to bog and but just cruisen in town nothing really happens unless I get on it. ??? Advice would help
Steven Holub there is an abundance of info on tuning and setup of carbs but mid range is all about your needle jet. Is it modified? The best thing to do is some “plug shops” to see if your running lean “not enough fuel” or rich “too much fuel”. Many times when Intake and exhaust is done you need more fuel to balance back out. It could be as simple as adding a couple washers under your needle jet to allow more fuel mid range. Lots of trial and error. I had to change mains, add shins, and pilot jets to get this bike to ride nice without popping or bogging. Good luck!
Thanks! I'm sure ill learn quite a bit when i clean up the electrical side of things. I would love to eliminate the dash and just a speedometer to clean up the front end. likely relocate the ignition and whatnot...
The Vulcan looks good! What handle bars are thoes? Also what rear fender is that? I am trying to figure out what I want to need to do with mine. I like the way it looks.
Thanks! just some cheap euro bars off ebay, and i made the rear fender out of the stock one. (cut the rise for the lights out and welded in some steel) I also cut the front half of it off and mounted it to the swing arm tighter to the tire. I've got pictures of it all on my channel.
Sure, the seat is bolted to the 1/4" diamond plate that i bent to follow the lines of the frame. If you pause the video at 1:00 you'll see the "hooks" i welded onto the bottom of the diamond plate to hold the back of the seat down. the front is held by the tank bolt. its pretty simple but turned out nice.
25Thuan it’s not welded to the frame. There are two J hooks welded onto the plate to hook onto the frame. Then it’s bolted in the front with the tank bolt. If you take the tank bolt out you can slide the seat backwards and it pops off
There are some people on the facebook groups and forums online that are much smarter than me with these bikes! one challenge at a time and enjoy the process! good luck!
Are these bikes reliable? I know Kawasaki likes to engineer their stuff so it’s a bit of a pain to do some routine maintainence things... Namely the stator on this model. Bike I’m looking at appears to be leaking there. Wondering if they did the “mod” to it and worried it’ll be a nightmare to figure out.
Hey bro, that’s slick!
Thank you!

Do you remember what K&N filters you used?

Stator problems??? Why did you put the rectifier there ?

Load resistors will eliminate the fast blinking on those turn signals.

What handle bars do you have on it?
just some cheap Euro bars off ebay.
Will the 86 timing chain tensioners fit on the 85?
hey dud you build or buy the exhaust to meet around on the on side

Felix Tapia not much still laying around but what are you looking for?

Did you paint the wheels or have them painted?

@@dbuttsvfs haha realized that after the fact. Mine came with the all grey ones.

How did you lower the bike?
25Thuan I cut the frame just ahead of where the shocks mount and swung it up. This raised the mounting position of the shocks and lowered the bike.
Dman91 van you elaborate please?
