- Viewed at Arrowhead on the Nueces campground in Camp Wood, Texas. I thought being at Ulvade would be a great place to view this eclipse so I was at Ulvade Memorial Park. It was still so cloudy in Uvalde at 12:10pm and the sun cannot be seen at all. And totality begins at 1:30pm. So I checked Weather Underground and it says that there are partial sun and clouds at Camp Wood, about 40 minutes north west of Uvalde. I took off immediately going 80mph and made it to Camp Wood at 1:00pm, and had time to catch totality at 1:30pm. Originally, I did reserve a camping spot with Arrowhead on the Nueces for three days near the town of Camp Wood. So I came back to Arrowhead and captured this eclipse totality. Because the partial clouds had helped block more periphery light from the sun, it became dark like night on the ground, giving an eerie feeling of a short four minutes and 28 seconds night.

It's worth it. The partial cloudy days blocks more light, too, so it got really dark during totality.

It was so cool. It got dark like night, because the clouds blocked more lights too, so that makes it all the darker on the ground.
