ALMOST A TWO HOUR VIDEO WOW MARK THAT'S DEDICATION ! 👍👍👍
Thank you very much. True a consolidation of some of the best if every vehicle type.
Bought 2015 Mercedes ML 350 (everything same as W212, engine, transmission) with 48k miles in 2019. Right now has 101k miles, no issues at all except thermostat ($300 oem part and $150 labor) and that’s it
Toyota/Lexus all the way,,, nice video
Love my 2020 Mazda CX-5 Signature. Easily the best car i've ever owned and i'm in the neighborhood of 50 vehicles. It's almost perfect.
Great choice and I love those things too. CX50 also cool.
Mark 🇨🇦 you Crushed it today ! Thxs ! Sun ☀️ is out finally, have an awesome weekend ✌🏻
Thank you so much. It was a tone of work but a great compilation like this is sometimes needed
As usual a perfect video thanks Mark
Outstanding reviews and extra long video. You have outdone yourself my friend. 😊
Thanks very much Mark. Hope you have a great weekend.
Thanks Mark. Stay safe and keep warm in the "Great White North".@@ECPP
I drive a 128i BMW great information. Sir. 106k and just had all what you said as maintenance done on it! Car driving like a champ!
Thank you Mark. Awesome work. ❤
Great video! I love my CX- 5 in Soul Red Crystal. It is my first Mazda, but not my last!
Good choice!
I absolutely love my 2017 440i. 110k and no issues
Awesome
MAZDA incredibly reliable elegant and classic design that doesn’t date . SEATS could be a bit more comfortable…and support
MAZDA SUV COMMENTS . Cx5 great value
Toyota Lexus Mazda Honda stand out long term non Heart attack brands long term and reliability
Love the content... but not the weather!!! ☁️✨☁️☁️. Go bruh 💯💯
Thanks so much, yes the weather can be a bit much, lol. Have a great weekend.
WOW amazing TY so much ,,Keep up the great work
You are so welcome
Thank you for your excellent guidance! I just bought the Mazda CX-5. Not the turbo but sure hoping this 36K mile vehicle will go the distance… I keep my cars till they just won’t go anymore 😂 I hate car shopping that much!
A family member bought a 2024 Jeep Wrangler ($73K) had an electrical problem already, it was repaired, under warranty minor issue, but not off to a good start. I like my naturally aspirated 2022 Toyota Tacoma V-6 (non-turbo). Hopefully, Toyota has maintained its reliability and has not fallen to the new "standard" of Stellantis and German dump buckets.
He make me want to go out and buy a vehicle with confidence! Great job! Sir.
My mom bought an RX in 2000, and it's still running 24 years later. Now it's had its problems, and the engine has been rebuilt, but still a better track record than most other vehicles if you ask me.
With a rebuilt engine? Lolll you’re not too sharp bubba
@@jonathans6087 24 year old car with over 300K miles on it, yeah it could be a lot worse
Thank you for top level summary!!! How abut mentioning a price rang ?
Powerful review. Almost a cram session. I agree with most, but having done Audi Customer Follow-up...😔
My focus today has gone from ICE to Hybrid ONLY. The only other alternative is converting our 2020 Lexus to hybrid, down the road. I love that UX.
At $10k, to do an ICE to Hybrid conversion, may be the way to go, if you have a long term keeper (and we keep all our Lexi for 200+k miles).
Love your vids. Can you give a opinion on if the new Lexus GX 550 will hold its value? Thinking of picking one up thos spring. Im told 4Runner is the way to go buy dont wanna wait
He said “Cadillac Escapade” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Haha, indeed
😅
Mark - great videos - overall impression of Subarus?
😂😂😂😂 He said the rack to carry your Roach infested Mattress! I bout fell out! 😂😂
Great video Mark thanks..
Mazda all the way 👍
I was always a Toyota guy but I have loved my last two Mazdas. Stay away from Dodge Jeep and Ram
I was ex ited for the CX70/90, but recently found reviews saying many services require an engine pull. They made these very complicated. Only time will tell how long it takes for them to fail, and it will be really expensive when they do. They also made some comprimises on the suspension compared to the outgoing cx9.
I have an Audi A5 45 coupe, and you are right - they are decked out beautifully. And the Band and Olufsen sound system is phenomenal, much better than HK.
There's a way to defeat start/stop system with a push of a button, something you can't do in modern BMWs. Hopefully, it's reliable, I only have 6000 miles on it.
Sounds very nice
Personally really liking the 2020 Ridgeline Black Edition despite all the recalls, Why because the V6 is nice over any of the 4 cylinder Options out.
Ridgelines are amazing. A few of my friends have them and they love them. Drive comfortable and have a great engine. Not sure why I ever made fun of them. I was wrong about them. I highly recommend them now.
Hey man Ive been watching you for a while and you really are a top reason I purchased my Jaguar f type , but do you know why my Jaguar f type v6 is having excessive smoke coming out tail pipe and water down coolant , just took it into dealship and they said I got no coolant leaks and the car is fine but I changed the oil and it looked like mud.. am I stuck paying 600$ for a failed diagnostic and a broken Jaguar? (67,000 miles) I am part of the youth second hand jaguars and it’s been quite a journey I shall say.. I’ve had it for 8 months and drove it for only 3 because so much time in shop.. what should I do I think it’s head gasket but they’re telling me the test are good .. ugh.
You did an extensive review on a variety of vehicles. You provided the good & the bad with each. Well done. Thank you. No one come close give this level of detail. Thank you!
I appreciate that!
Once again great job
Am l missing the Acura MDX, the perennial champion of the SUV class? I never had an MDX come to my Customer Service desk with a recurring issue...EVER. (Same goes with the Ridgeline P'ups). I agree with every other appraisals in this review completely...especially the Land Rovers. I can't tell you how many LR trade-in customers I told, "If it was a horse, l'd just put it out of its misery, right here in this lot!"
Nobody ever laughed at that opening. A few got teary eyed.
Which HP version of the BMW 4.0i engine? The old or the new (which has more HP) or either one is equally reliable?
Nice work man, started to watch your videos because I want to get a Mercedes C300. I’ve Been driving Toyotas all my life. Still not sure if I will buy it or not, what year would you recommend? “Affordable”
Look up Mercedes e class 350 W212 (2012-2016), the last models that have regular 3.5 V6 before changing to turbo engine.
Hello there. Last week a bough a 2024 BMW X3M, and now I have to work an extra hour to be able to afford it. Is it worth it, how is the reliability? Thank you.
2:34 My family has a 2015 X5 sDrive35i (the RWD model) with the N55 engine. We got it with 17k miles in 2019 & now it's at a little over 76k miles. It's luckily been free of major problems for us so what you're saying about the engine has me nervous now
He is wrong. The N55 was absolutely a powerful workhorse and very reliable statistically. Especially the 2014 and up variants which you have. Be sure to change the oil every 3 -5k miles. Do NOT do 8000 or 10000 mile intervals.
Hey! My understanding is that cylinder deactivation in the Skyactiv Mazda engines is only in the non-turbo engines. Plus, the non-turbo engines (2.5L) have been having issues with cracked cylinder heads.
I have 2 Mazdas with the 2.5 non turbo. One with 120,000 miles and the other with 40,000 absolutely flawless. Cylinder deactivation is unnoticeable in the one that has it. I follow the forums and there are extremely few problems these vehicles.
What a great video Mark! Super helpful! I m leaning toward UX for the city. Love the Audi SQ, but if America release the RS3 sportback, I would def go for it! Keep it up Mark, will keep on supporting your channel bro!
I’ve had an RS3 since late 17. 100k amazing miles. It’s a brute. Best daily I’ve ever had.
How much do you usually pay for the maintenance and etc. that’s all I m scare of lol

Amazing video. I really enjoyed it. I wish if you can do one about best cars to perform in snow winter. I believe Land cruiser or its sister Lexus 450 are the best but they will break your bank with their fuel consumption plus their purchase price 😁
Yes I can do that but basically I say Audi and Subaru are some of the better winter sorcials

What is your opinion on the Mercedes E class?
What is your opinion on toyata highlander?
What about older cars to buy. I will be purchasing my 16 yr old first car by Christmas and im considering the 2014 Lexus ES350 or 2012-2014 Toyota Camry and the 2012-2014 Honda Accord. Any vidoes for buying older cars cash??
All excellent choices. Can’t go wrong with Toyota Lexus or Honda. For your 16 year old stick with those❤️
@@lenifoster5360 Thank you

i have a lexus NX turbo chaged 2024 . 2.4 liter 275 HP. I really wanted a SUV so when i was looking at the dealership for a SUV they were all turbo charged... so i was somewhat handcuffed to buy one lol
This was terrific Mark !! Just picked up an B9/ S4. Now I feel better … lol .
Thanks for watching Ken. Have a great one. The car is a lot of fun too.

Please advise between Infiniti Q70 and Audi A5 2012-2016 which one is reliable
If I was forced to pick between the two, I would go for the infiniti, japanese over german any day.
first. cheers from sweden
Good morning and welcome
Would some one post a list of cars mentioned !!
Very comprehensive and sadly accurate for so many stinkers. The F-150 is the most disturbing development, considering the F-150 is the "bread & butter" sales leader for many decades. Especially notable is that all F-150's are built exclusively in the USA (So much for "Quality built American vehicles"). Glad you were honest about the Hyundai/Kia balls of rolling fire, time bombs. And I run when l hear Mercedes SUV followed by the letters GL, GLA, GLB, GLK...
Thanks for your wakeup call amid this sea of flashy ads promoting vehicles l wouldn't sell to an ex-wife.😮
Haha indeed, many people just buy without doing there honework. It’s bizarre how some of this junk still sells.
@@ECPP Guilty! I depended on the advice of a family member to buy a kia. Didn't do my own homework. Has been nothing but problems from the start. With about 5k of repairs in 3 years. Serious dangerous issues that thankfully didn't happen on a highway. Never will buy anything that is parked near a kia again. Thanks so much for the work you do for us! You are helping me with my homework now.

Love your channel and sense of humour Mark. I've got an Audi A4 2006 with a CVT that's killed me in repairs. I believe Lexus is my next car thanks to your videos. Please keep up the great work and that sense of humor lol
Still driving my 92 Landcruiser, runs like a top.
They will last for a long time
The Lexus ES350 is one of very very top in low fatality rates per million inside and also outside. I wonder if this saves on insurance a lot of money.

You put the Lexus RC behind you in the thumbnail. I thought you’d list it as a reliable coupe.
So basically, Hondas and Toyotas are the most durable. Got it 👍

Aren't the Ten speed Transmission on the Lincoln Navigator & F150 Problematic..?
What about the 2024 Lexus GX??? This video published in February 2024 but you covered the 2023 GX, and the 2024 GX has been redesigned from the ground up
Just subscribed and moved over from your truck channel. Honda Civic Sport, like the one you pointed out at 1:23:30 is $ 32, 716. in Canada and the price does NOT include whatever taxes you may have to pay depending on the province you live in. For me in Ontario, I have to add 13% tax which makes the selling price $36,969.08. Not exactly a cheap little car. Would love to know where you found a new Honda Civic basic for $23,450 ? Honda Canada's basic Civic starts at $ 28,756 + tax = $32,494. Definitely not under $ 25,000.
You stated that basically Honda has great cars despite a few hiccups, except you spent an entire video a couple of months ago tearing Honda down saying how the new ones are unreliable and their reliability has fallen down to 15th from first or 2nd place .
At 56:54 ,A Honda, the " reliability king next to a Toyota or Lexus"❗PLUS, " Honda, they know how to build reliability" . Which is it, UNRELIABLE OR RELIABLE ⁉
BTW, Honda is known for their CVT engines being better than most .
At 56:10 you showed a Honda CR-V with a price tag seen hanging from the visor showing the price at $37,988 and you said the price ranged from
$24,000 -$ 35,760. Where can you get a Honda CR-V in Feb 2024 starting at $24,000 in Canada ?
B58! 💪🏾
That’s a great engine
I’ve been saying it for 7 years, that the B58 was gonna be the golden child of BMW. Once I seen the design and build of the engine when announced, I knew it was gonna be a game changer.
Only BMW engine i recommended. ZF 8speed is also amazing.
Damn ! Tough Pics, BMW, "Black Mamba World" Or "Bob Marley World" ?! One Has A New Movie & One Has A New Statue. Both Are Legends. But Once Again It's Lexus For The Win !! 🏆. Literally A Long Legendary Lineup, Thanx Mark ! 👏💯
Thanka very much Don
I am waiting for the BOOM.
Hah exactly
G-Wagon or G-Class Merc is probably the best off road jeep that is, better than Wrangler. It's traction and power, and reliability is just... Whistling Diesel proved it :D
Exactly
So I have an x5 diesel. Reliability ? Dealer recalled the EGR cooler and Edmonton bmw would not honour the service because I didn’t buy it from them. I had to put in a complaint with bmw corporate to get recall work done.
When I got it back the dog bracket want put in and all that weight on the turbo made the DOF brake at the flange to the turbo. Bmw would not repair it. Wanted $9000 for the part. I deleted all emissions after that.
Things I have replaced in five years.
Rear air bags.
Brakes and rotors.
Def delete
Couple plastic hoses that cracked.
Zu transmission pan and filter.
Couple of fog lights from rocks.
All parts bought from FCP because parts here are a rip off.
B58 or s58 for next bmw or would go to Lexus.
Great choice in next cars and thanks very much for sharing your experience
What is the best small car to buy that last for a long time?
Mazda 3, Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic with manual transmission
I have a 2014 Audi A4. At 90k miles it started going thru oil. Now at 166k it goes thru a quart every 800 miles. I've had the intake cleaned twice for carbon build up and had a air valve replaced due to carbon. All while using premium Chevron gas. I don't think audi is reliable. I had a 1990 Mitsubishi ishi eclipse that was parked in a surface lot in Chicago for 9 of the last 10 years that went to 120k when I donated it. This Xara was back on the road in a couple of months because I got a call later from the police thinking it was stolen.
Certain older Audis had oil burning problems and piston ring, cylinder tolerances were not good and ate oil from the get go
I started doing a little research on comments this guy makes, and it turns out he knows what he speaks of. I get a little tired of looking at his in-your-face, but I've never done any videos so hey, that's not a reason enough to not listen. Specifically, I looked up the BMW engines, and he's right about known problems that have shown up over years of on-the-street use. I would imagine it's hard to test for those problems, so not so much a design oversight, but things that only many miles of varied driving would reveal. BMW has made changes in their most recent V8's to address those problems, but there you're paying MSRP, and the newer engines don't have 50K miles on them, so .... I don't know much about frames and engines, which is why I'm here.
You're very wrong about the Porsche Macan - shit Audi engines, loaded with inherent design problems, sunroof drain holes, door handles, washer jet hose splitting in cold weather under rear seat causing horrendous electrical problems, transfer box issues, engine issues including oil leaks, cheap materials used now - please do better investigating than this buddy......poor!
Make a vedio about reliable new cars
The BMW X5 does not have fake tail pipes they are a aluminum shell surrounding the actual tailpipe which is spewing out black soot which is all over the aluminum frame. Proving that that round pipe inside of the rectangle is the real exhaust
ECCP - you were just saying in a video a month or so ago how horrible the Q3 was. Water leaks, wind noise, and stretched timing chains. Now it’s one of the most reliable??
I like it when you say the exhaust is fake but it ok😅
Doesn’t the X7 have the same motor? The 40
Yes and the n63 turbo V8
@@ECPP what do you recommend, am thinking of getting the X7 (2021) or the Mazda cx90 or something bigger that will not have too many issues. I have a 2013 Mercedes GLK250 Diesel. I do my own maintenance. It a great small suv but it’s too small. What do you think? Would love to get another diesel. Not too many options tho! Thanks in advance.
My 2014 RX 350 is the most reliable car I've ever owned. I'm 70 years old and the car has 70,xxx miles on it. Should last until I'm 90 I think, Lol!
Toyota may have a longevity reputation, and good for you if yours has lasted. But Camry's for instance need their timing belts replaced every 60,000 miles! Cars should have timing CHAINS that last longer than the engine. My Camry had its engine replaced when I bought it, and only last about 45,000 more miles when the belt went and so did the engine and car. My 2007 Toyota Tundra had to have the secondary air injection pumps and associated valves replaced THREE TIMES at $1200 a pop! It had so many code issues that the shop could not clear them all to inspect it! The frame was rusted badly due to a terrible shape like an open gutter with no drainage holes! They had class action lawsuits against them that forced them to REPLACE THE FRAMES!!!
❤ 2017 Toyota HUV
Wait at least 10 yrs to buy a KIA? Dang son. Not giving them any slack
Well, Lexus, Toyota, Mazda, Volvo, and BYD. LOL
I like C5 Mazda
Toyota Camry with BMW engine
N55 was actually VERY reliable statistically, especially in the later years 2014 and up. B58 is even better though for sure.
the 4Runner has a 5 (five) speed transmission not 6.
Yes it does
@@ECPP Not arguing with you, just saying. I was considering buying one and one of the factors that pulled me back was the 5speed only transmission regardless of the trim which(among other things) leads to the atrocious gas mileage. It has been the same 5 speed for the past 10 years or more. Not sure if it's worth sacrificing the gas mileage for (perceived) reliability in 2024, seeing how gas prices go only up . The new Honda Pilot has a 3.6(naturally aspirated) not 4.0 like the 4Runner with a new 10 speed and gets way better mileage, drives like a car not like a truck, has updated tech and is as spacious if not more than the 4Runner.Sure cannot go rock climbing if that's your goal however has decent off road skills, And it's a Honda which is almost as reliable as Toyota(arguably). Now to each its own and depends on what kind of car you are looking for. For reference I do not own a Honda nor I am a Honda fanboy it's just in the context of good/reliable cars that is the subject of this video
@@axx8326Honda Pilot has 3.5 V6. You said 3.6.
Pilot is a great vehicle. Has a lot more room in it than the 4Runner.
Honda has had some issues, but they should have issues all fixed now.
I thought about buying one or a Passport as a daily beater for its massive room. Gotta keep the miles off my nice cars.
Sadly the RX 350 only comes with a 2.4 l 4 cylinder turbo for 2024
True David yes it’s now a turbo 4 which makes a person wonder if this new 2.4L will last like the last 3.5L NA
2.4 reliable turbo!
@@olgerjovani8653 time will tell, I doubt it will last 150000 miles

Skip the 8 as it is pricey to fix and less reliable
@@ECPP Greatly appreciated!
Be careful of twin turbo V8. B58 is only way to go.
Avoid twin turbo v8 like the plague
Shhh it’s an AWD 😂😂
I love them cars but it’s funny to make fun of them too
They are great cars indeed but a little humour is great
What about Lexus ES 350??

@@superblump87 If only you could afford one.
@@Jasona1976 why could I not afford one? This guy's motto is "Life's too short to drive boring cars.". Sounds like I struck a nerve.
Lexus FTW
No way I'd buy a Lexus SUV with those obnoxious grills. Dependability? Yes.
It’s sort of a love hate thing
@ECPP since I have you. Great videos! One question for you.
If wanting to buy a 911 for under $130k USD, what would you recommend, and should I wait?
I'm thinking 2020 Cabriolet 2S, but have never owned a Porsche (just everything else 🤣)
Thx!
HI, I would likely go with a turbo possibly 991 or even clean 997 coupe as they generally hold stronger value than Carreras although all great cars tbh.
@ECPP thx. Biggest concern with older turbos is maintenance, but they definitely hold best value.
Thx again!
The Honda CRV has had tons of recalls. There’s other cars on here that are very questionable and yet you’re pushing them. I don’t find your content very reliable.
You don't think that Audi is good to buy an Audi after 15k miles, it uses oil from the pistons, all Audis suffer from oil consumption and oil leakage.
CRV is beautiful? Seriously come on. Okay they may be reliable other than oil dilution, but beautiful? Really?
Thanks for the video and your opinion. Since consumers are not getting the best tech, designed, or built cars today from all models manufacturers build, it is important to educate yourself what cars to avoid or to buy. The best period from all car companies was 1996-2012 (my opinion, but what do I know?). We're destroying the world so stringent EPA mandates started in 2012 and I think causing car companies to build less reliable engines to meet EPA numbers. It's not about reliability, its about pollution from only new cars being sold, not how much they pollute, or last reliably after a few years of use. (Never mind how much countries like Russia, China, India pollute). So Car companies have made great strides in reducing pollution. But no matter, now EV's are being mandated. Cars that use gas or diesel generators without catalytic converters to charge the un-recyclable batteries. I say both types of cars, and even other types of cars should be offered and let the public decide. Nobody wants to be responsible for "destroying Mother earth". And honestly Tesla has built some badass EV's. Ya just can't afford them. (Back in the 1920's there were 10 American car companies that made specifically electric cars. What happened to them? honestly, I do not know. But EV's are not new and go back as far as 1905 with NY city having 100% of cabs be electric powered ). Peace.
I definitely agree life is too short to drive boring cars! Besides, how are you to pick up the ladies? They don't want to ride in a 2002 Toyota Corolla with no stereo, a garbage bag for the door window and riding on 4 different brands of used tires! lol
Haha nicely stated
