Brilliant idea to whoever thought to do this. Exactly what the sport needs right now

Thank you Rugby Pass this is very much needed. It would be good to get this picked up by a mainstream broadcaster as we need as many eyes on this as possible. Absolutely disgusting the treatment the refs get, they can't win. I realise trolls are everywhere but we are supposed to have dignity in Rugby Union and the treatment these hard working men and women get is gross.

I am pretty sure the people who abuse referees never played the game.

I’ve been to a couple of “Evening with” premiership referees and it was very enlightening so this should be good

Rugby fans have no idea what goes on behind the scenes with referees.
I have new respect for the referees and players

Good on you rugby pass. Hope its not all negative because the players show great respect and true fans do also. But good to have it from the refs side.

This has the potential to be one of the best sports documentaries of all time, I hope they can do the subject justice, but even if it falls short I applaud the ambition.

Look, no one is saying abuse is good. The only thing that's mind-boggling is that no sport should require teams to adapt their gameplay depending on which referee is officiating their game. As simple as that... It seems to be the case (and the Boks played this beautifully in the last four years), but so it means there is a deeper problem in rugby union then, that could extend to this sport being less and less popular than it already is.

Being emotional, the big music. It's not enough.
Some of them apparently do their maximum to have controversy. Being booed is part of the game. It's okay to be booed BUT it must stay in the stadium. Physical injures or harassment is dumb dumb. I hate o'keefe like i hate no one but he doesn't deserve to be threaten or anything like that. Still
do not referee our France anymore, stay away, far away from us. Same can be said about Andrew Brace, this guy is something. I'll never forget France - England final autumn cup in 2020.

Rugby referees have the hardest job of professional sport because of the word "influence" Their influence on the scoreboard is direct and crucial. They are influenced by constant new WR rules which lead to mistakes... And they are also unfortunately under the influence of the crowds, managers, captains, commissions and federations.

It is a tough and probably one of THE toughest jobs. just be FAIR! that's all the fans want.

It's not the refs, it's the instructions from World Rugby that lead to over-officiating the game which then puts the referee front and center. There is no easy solution for this

Too much romance up North. We just play what's in front of us down South. Effective at RWC times.

0:40 somehow feels deserved- nah im only joking but rugby refereeing quality has collapsed notable exceptions imo include Nic berry Luke Pearce and up until the world cup final Wayne Barnes. Karl Dickson is a terrible ref every game he referees ends in controversy.

O Keeffe, Barnes, Brace and Carley all of them sould'nt be allowed near a rugby pitch.
You can cry all you want, everybody knows what's up with these guys.

They are the problem. Look, giant mistakes from o keefe in France - SA. Barnes allowed a forward pass that lead to a french try during France - NZ quarter final 2007. Brace, well, France - england at the autunm nation up@@Hay_good_lookin

@@Unpseudopascommelesautres errors will be made as a referee. Sometimes they will give your team an advantage and other times they will work against you. The refs in rugby these days are pretty accurate. If you really want to rule out all errors the laws would need to be changed to be precise rules and not laws to be interpreted. If you or anyone else finishes a game blaming the ref I would suggest try to remember it's a sport and not the end of the world.

It is a nice film I guess, and not every referee is same ofc. But they do make mistakes, huge mistakes that cost a games for teams. Look at the Fiji vs Georgia last 2023 WC match, just have a look at it so many mistakes made by referee! High tackles which got NO attention from referee, no whatsoever! Just one card during the whole match. But these was a good, clear moments where Fiji should have got at least yellow card, at least! But nothing happened! It was in Fiji 22, high tackle on Niniashvili, but as I said, referee did nothing. There were several moments in game, but nothing happaned..
I am sorry but I do not trust in some referees, I just dont!
With respect to Fiji here, I am talking about referees.. Just saying..
