First time homebuyer here in 2022 and my husband and I got just got a notice that due to our taxes in Tarrant county our escrow was short paid and our mortgage has increased by a few dollar shy of $700.00. We are panicking because we definitely cannot afford this increase.
Oh my. That is horrible. I'm so sorry to hear that. You may have already tried this, but if it were me, here's what I'd do: first step call the mortgage co and see if they'll spread the escrow shortage out over 24 months. Second, I'd get quotes on your insurance. If you want an insurance company recommendation or want us to troubleshoot, just shoot me an email protest@chandlercrouch.com Also, I wrote this blog. Hi Mr. Crouch, I'm am a 61 year-old homeowner in Hays County (Kyle) who is in the midst of his third tax protest, since I bought my house at the very end of 2021. I know you have your hands full working for those in Tarrant County, but I was wondering if you knew of anyone providing a similar free tax protest service here in Hays County? Congratulations on getting Wendy Burgess defeated in her primary - do you know of any reason her name would sound familiar to me?

What do you do when there are no comps in my subdivision? I have to tell you. I am sick and tired of having to fight them so I can afford to stay in my home. Don't forget when Market value goes up for Property tax SO DOES Home insurance. I have to pay $8-9k this year on low income.
Ask for the appraisal districts comps. If you can't find any, they likely can't either. It's up to them to justify their value. If they can't justify it then they're not allowed to increase it.
It looks like it's a run off between Barnes and Burgess. 😕 What can we do to continue to get the word out that TC TCO needs a change?
No runoff... Barnes won! There would only be a runoff if 3 people were in the race and the top two didn't get above 50%. You guys sent a loud message!
Big sigh of relief!! I seen 50 for both and started to panic. I never share anything political but I shared this information everywhere. Because of your videos I did my due diligence this year. I printed off the sample ballot for TC and researched every candidate on it. I was really surprised and disappointed that I could not find bios for all the candidates running. The current candidates in office monopolized social media but the challengers, very little information, if anything. If I did find an article it was posted on a newspaper site and I was asked to pay to read it. 🤯

You were not able to lower our taxes a bit last year. And it is ridiculous that we had to pay $6,000 taxes on a 1800 sq house.
I agree, that is a ton of money. I'd be happy to dig into your case to see why we weren't able to get you a reduction. It's all about how the numbers that the evidence supports. Thanks for letting us know who you are voting for. I know you’re supporting him but Rick Barnes has made some serious mistakes in his last job(s) that cost fines to the organization, we’d all do well to vote for the Democrat in the general election. Btw, my friend needed help with her property tax and Ms Burgess helped her personally.
I'm glad to hear she helped. I know Barnes has made mistakes. What I'm mentioning here about Burgess is just the tip of the iceberg. I don't begrudge anyone for having a difference of opinion.
