For me, the MCU has always been the spiritual continuation of what the Raimi movies started. And now those movies have officially been incorporated into the larger narrative of the MCU, making that spiritual connection into a literal one. I think Tom gives a good portrayal but the scenarios and story just pale in comparison to this trilogy. This trilogy had real heart and lessons to be learnt.
Ok....I'm gonna be brutally honest here did anyone else cry because these movies are more than just that. These movies hold a very special place in my heart Tobey Maguire will always be spiderman that's his gift his curse. These new movies dont have that raw emotion to them that these did.
"Look at little Goblin Jr. You gonna cry?" But yes, you're not the only one who cried, these films were truly moving and at a young age gave us lessons of heroism, meekness, and justice; when it was beyond the words a child could grasp. I truly miss these kinds of films
This will always be the best version of spiderman. The one that tells us his loneliness, his struggles, his pain. The one who tells us the being a hero is not an easy task. The person who tells us the being rejected is better than living a life with temporary love just because people saw you as a hero. I respect this hero and nothing will beat this version.
Also he always beats every super villain by analysing their weakness. He always tries to make them better too. That's why he loses the first fight always, then tries to change them and if all else fails hell use their weakness against them.
The three together is gonna be crap, AND is directing by jon watts, they will take Tobey's legacy and throw in the trash with that movie. The only one who is gonna be a masterpiece is Spider-Man 4. One Day is gonna be released. One Day.
Spider-Man: Power and Responsibility Spider-Man 2: Choice and Sacrifice Spider-Man 3: Revenge and Forgiveness Thank you Sam Raimi for making the most human superhero movies ever created.
@@leandroagonzalez3Acceptance, assuming if there will be a Spiderman 4 with Tobey Maguire ( i have high hopes), raimi could touch upon Peter's parents
Tobey’s Spider-Man is the most perfect live action representation of a super hero in cinematic history. The pureness of heart, the relentless motivation to always do good even when it means losing what and who you love, always getting back up when you’re knocked down. Sam Raimi absolutely nailed it in every sense of the phrase.
to be fair everyone's probably just afraid to produce any super hero art that'll be overshadowed by the MCU's hold on all things super heroes. i mean, and they have the rights to saw many heroes others' just legally can't share their interpretations.
@andy pla yes. You're right. Just look the MCU Spiderman, those 2 movies was never up to the Sam Raimi's trilogy's quality. I am kind of not enjoy Tom Holland's Spiderman much despite of his good acting. Moreover, the villians were not solid and the script was too "safe". Like what you said, Disney would never let any superheroes that overshadow the entire MCU. Really hope that they would do that in "What if....?" series that the risky ideas could be in a movie.
“Inspite of everything you have done for them, eventually they will hate you.” So many lessons in this trilogy which reflects in our daily lives at present.
It’s sad how Spider-Man 2 made fun of that concept, especially right after a touching scene where the people comfort him before being shoved off to the side by Doc Oc.
@@halilkural9958 not sure why no way home was not trash while sure it wasn't like your taste. There’s something magical with Tobey & raimi spider-man films, especially spider-man 2, this film had heart, loneliness, love, hate, peace & motivation.
Straight up this whole trilogy got me through my parents divorce, one of the those things me and my siblings were always down to fall into. Even today it feels so real to me, so much more then just a superhero movie that sadly I don’t feel is captured in the mcu
It won't be the same but if tobeys in the movie, it will be a breath of fresh air, I grew up on this trilogy and got nothing but love and respect for it
It's not just MCU but cinema in general has evolved in such a way. A couple of superhero movie every month. Back then movies like these became a part of our lives. We would be watching it every other weekend. The movie would be all over gifts, freebies, toys, stickers, posters and whatnot.
95 % of a spiderman movie has to be peter getting knocked down and looking like an idiot, the 5% is peter shining and being a hero of the world where we all get goosebumps
Thats kinda of the whole point of Spider-Man.(Mainly Peter and Miles)We all Go through that 95% and most feel like giving up.but doing The right thong every damn time makes that 5% all the more...Amazing.
Yep, back when I was a kid while watching the trilogy, I always feels sad that's Peter always get f*ked and when he's got some happy moments, I feel happy for him.
@@tetsudikawakami3071 that’s why I like raimis Spider-Man more. The dude has faced so much physical and emotional trauma, he’s the strongest Spider-Man of them all. He had a grenade blow up in his face, survive a beating from the green goblin, got hit by a train, then stopped the train while going full speed after he fought doc ock on top of the train, get clobbered by the sandman, and beat venom, who was stronger than him. All of this while juggling his personal life and responsibility of Spider-Man. I would say he’s the rocky balboa of the marvel universe.
I could write an entire essay about how the Spider-Man Trilogy is unmatched and shitting on the Tom's Spidey but ill just say that Aunt May and Uncle Ben are extraordinarily important to Spidermans character and Sam Raimi perfected it first try.
@@telespectadorpensante.7156 You should't. Progressism and libtards kill everyone great movies, to do it, they remake a movie with more blacks, lesbians etc...and a terrible message.
My childhood hero and still my hero.. the heart of a truly kind and human person.. Movie 1: Finding his place in the world, losing his uncle and becoming a hero Movie 2: coming into his own, showing the city what it means to be a hero Movie 3: Falling into darkness only to crawl out of the shadows and into the light again to save himself and to save his loved ones With great power comes great responsibility.. the words that I intend to live by forever♥️🕷️🕸️
After my father left, everything became very complicated. I was alone and with no one to teach me how to be a man. This trilogy changed my life completely. All values and attitudes, everything. This is all I stand for. I can say that these films made me the man I am today. It was a completely different feeling to see Tobey on NWH. In elementary school time, all my stuff had his face, he became a classmate to me almost. It was one of the saddest days of my life the day I found out that the fourth movie had been cancelled. Seeing him walk out of that portal was like waking up a part of me that was asleep. It was almost like meeting an old friend from first grade after a long time. 'Nuff said.
The hardest time is when peter gave up being spiderman, eventually, that helped peter's personal life but what about his city and all other people? helping each other people in trouble is what makes us human, otherwise, we are no better than selfish animals !! There's a hero in all of us who believes in good and help other people.... that should be our moral of life Tobey Maguire Spiderman is my favourite is because in his journey of being spiderman he was his own mentor, his own guide, no one was there for him to teach the way, he figured it out himself.
He’s my favorite live-action Spider-Man too. He didn’t rely on other heroes to be what he was meant to be. He saw in himself what he truly was: a superhero.
@@zxa03 Technically, he's not from the MCU. Bringing the past Spider-Men back drove NWH's story but was also a cash grab lol. We can't deny that, but we love Sony and Marvel for doing this
He knows a hero when he sees one. Too few characters out there, flying around like that saving old girls like me. And Lord knows, kids like Henry need a hero-courageous, self-sacrificing people setting examples for all of us. Everybody loves a hero. People line up for them…cheer them…scream their names. And years later, they’ll tell how they stood in the rain for hours just to get a glimpse of the one who taught them to hold on a second longer. I believe there’s a hero in all of us…that keeps us honest…gives us strength…makes us noble…and finally allows us to die with pride, even though sometimes we have to be steady and give up the thing we want the most - even our dreams. Spider-Man did that for Henry and he wonders where he’s gone. He needs him
THIS is the real spider man. Not some teenager who has the support of a billionaire and has everything he could ever want. The real spider man suffers, has a hard life, almost nothing goes his way but, he still puts his duty as spider man before his every day life.
Also, the real Spider-Man doesn’t rely on that billionaire and even when he temporarily lost his powers in the second movie, he was still able to do the right thing (saving a little girl from a burning building and telling his Aunt May what happened the night Uncle Ben was killed). He didn’t say like a bitch that he was nothing without the suit because the suit is not what makes a true superhero, it’s his heart, courage, determination and sense of justice.
He isn't rich, he's not made of steel and no matter all the obstacles, loneliness and suffering Spiderman/Peter Parker has he keeps getting up and keeps fighting. He wasn't alone, people believed in what he stood for and no matter what the fake news or enemies said, they stood by him and helped him. We are all in this together and should never give up even if the odds are against us.
I think that's why Spiderman is the best superhero because he doesn't have all the money in the world, he can only work with what he's got and that disadvantage makes him more relatable and cool, but I do love Captain America as well!
They kinda feel soulless. Dont get me wrong Tom's movies are very entertaining, but to me it dosent have the same emotional weight as the raimi trilogy did.
@@lordpepy basically yeah. here’s how I see it Tom’s movies are ok/decent comic book movies but the Raimi movies are both great comic book movies and just amazing movies in general
@@nomeacaso5790 I'm not sure how no way home is shit? Aren't you proud that Tobey's Spider-Man has become a mature veteran and on the same time being able to teach the other 2 on how to be able to deal with the hardships and challenges of life the same way he went through over the course of the trilogy? My point is people like you shouldn't be called true Trilogy fans if your Shitting on another movie sure Holland's Spider-Man was mediocre and stupid but at least him learning from Maguire and being able to advice Andrew on the same time. Just to shows how he was able to learn from uncle Ben's word of advice from the first movie. "Changing into a new Man"
Who are you? You're one of the best trilogies ever made. This trilogy, alongside Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and Back to the Future stand as the 4 best trilogies of all time.
This trilogy embodies all a superhero movie adaptation should be. From the development of its key characters from the first film to the last, the making the audience feel like they were one of the civilians in new york, you didnt just see spiderman, you saw New York, the people , it took its time to showcase the people around spiderman, the struggles Peter faces in each film that ultimately delevop him into a bigger hero. Back when choices had weight and consequences, nowadays every bad choice is taken out with a joke or a pun in movies, character’s seem somewhat flawed but the consequences are so little. This trilogy embodied what spiderman is, why he is so popular, you could relate to his real human problems, things we could face everyday like paying rent, keeping up at school, relationship issues, time management issues, trauma of loss, etc. You can tell everyone who worked in writing, producing, shooting this film really loved the character and they poured out that passion to tell a story. Nowadays its all about cashgrabs and fan service scenes that dont quite fit. Spiderman was a hero here because of the “man”, Peter. As aunt may says in one scene “I believe in you Peter, you are a good person”. Its because Peter is good that he can take up that responsibility with the power he has obtained. Even if we are shown how he upholds the power righteously vs green goblin who used it for wrong in 1, we see how he struggles with having power and the responsibility of it vs having a normal life as Peter at 2, and we see that Peter has a darkside where he abuses and lets his power make him arrogant in 3. Not to mention how he still held the pain of the first film of losing uncle ben because of his choice and the third movie brought it all back to him now that he basically had everything down and was the “true hero”, his character got broken down once again and in the end he grew once more. Not to mention how each main character had an arc in this trilogy. Not a big fan of the new spiderman. Don’t like the direction he is being taken to. I really hope that they bring Tobey as an experienced spiderman in the “No Way Home” film, and teaches Tom’s spiderman a thing or two about what it means to be the hero. No more mentors like Tony or Strange but for Tobey to teach him what Uncle ben taught him and what he has learned. And this new spiderman to see that in himself.
@@lemart8644 i thank you for making such an amazing tribute to one of my favorite trilogies ever. In a time such as this, going back and enjoying things you grew up loving is so refreshing. You’ve done great work here capturing what this trilogy meant not only to me but so many people. This is art
The way Raimi handled Peter/Spider-Man is just wonderful man. The best portrayal of a superhero by far. Edit: Reeves' Batman just reached raimis spidey & it's been only a movie. Wow!
I just want Tobey Maguire and Sam Raimi to live a happy and satisfying life. They'd given all us 2000's kids a hero to look upto way before a grand Marvel universe ever came into play, they really dont deserve inch of slack they get. One Man, One Director, One hero. Thank you Sam and Tobey for giving the world this masterpiece of a trilogy.
Slack? They created a masterpiece. Yeah, great swings and great gadgets are cool but what about the heart? What about the immersion? The feelings? The emotions? The connection? Those are supreme.
This trilogy is far more better than Tom's spiderman soo emotional ......do u guys remember the scene in spiderman 2 where he stopped the train and fell tired , the passengers grabbed him and everyone picked him up .... remember ? That's called fans , whereas in homecoming the fans only know spiderman through RUclips ........ Remember guys when Stan Lee made spiderman , there was no such thing called RUclips ....he made a muscular spiderman with emotions .......Tobey was perfect .....the emotions of new Yorkers made me weep after watching spiderman 2 ....... Thank you Stan Lee for giving us such a nice character , thank you Sam Raimi for giving us such a good trilogy n Thank you Tobey Maguire for becoming the only spiderman I'll know n love till my last breath ......miss u guys hope u come back ......
Beautiful words for my childhood hero Sam raimi made the man I am today to never give up hope to always forgive with great power comes great responsibility I will never forget these words who am I I’m Spider-Man
It’s like I appreciate and understand Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and Andrews’ as well. However, Tobey hits different in my heart in regards to life, meaning, purpose, and so much more…
the scene beginning at 3:30 showing how the citizens and Mary Jane, Aunt May and Harry have all helped greatly to defeat the villains with Aunt May saying "there's a hero in all of us" and punctuated with Harry sacrificing himself when Eddie was about to kill Peter. That was powerful.
tobey was always my favorite spider-man and what i liked about this spiderman was that he not only appealed to kids but adults as well, which is something the new spiderman really lacks. Like i remember watching spiderman 2 with my mom and dad and they loved it but later on i showed my mom and dad the mcu's spiderman and they didnt really show to much interest in that version of spiderman.
@Kryptoskillet its just his Stark tech suit but when it comes down to who acurately portrays spierman the best and has the best movies, hes definitly coming in last place. the order is tobey, andrew and then tom
Spiderman trilogy is about finding the good in every person. The lesson was no matter who you are , what you have done ... you have the capacity to be a hero , the capability to do good . Spiderman inspired us to find the hero, we all can be Spiderman!
You never truly realise how Sam Raimi portrayed his vision of Spider-Man until you really start rewatching scenes... In Raimi's films you really get to see that side of Spidey, he doesn't want to defeat these super-villains, he wants to help them, find a way to show them that it doesn't have to be this way. I love how Raimi's Spider-Man oozes this hopeful and positive energy throughout his films.
Each of Tobey's Spider-Man movies taught us something 1st one taught me about Responsibilities 2nd one taught me about Sacrifice 3rd one taught me about Forgiveness and the value of Friendship
I was fine until the end, when Stan Lee told his character that one man can make a difference. Then I broke down in tears. His stories made a difference in so many of our lives, it’s hard to acknowledge he’s gone. Thank you so much Stan. RIP
The beauty of the Raimi films that the other movies fail to build upon is his relationship to the city he protects, and how they influence one another to be better.
The tribute just shows what was so beautiful and powerful about the original trilogy. Peters pain. All he gets is shit on. His Teachers, his family, his friends, his bosses. Nobody knows the burden he carries on his shoulders. And even when some few do, then all it brings him is pain. For example Harry, who just became a good Goblin, which basically caused his subsequent death. There is no happy end. No perfect redemption arc that makes all end well. There is no big parade for his heroism. They might admire Spiderman, but not Peter Parker. He has to bear that burden alone and he does it anyway. No acknowledgement, no celebration, no benefit, no love, no understanding, nothing. And despite all of the agony and the damage it does to his life, he chooses to be Spiderman. Now thats a hero.
He's coming back. Maybe not the hero they all wanted, but the hero we all needed. Empathy, humanity, sacrifice... We've been waiting for this moment and now it's ours.
Look here, I shall not be defeated. I shall rise above you and end you. I am superior to this bafoon called “Spider-Man” I shall find you mr Sony. I shall not make the same mistake again.. I will finish you this time
This trilogy goes far beyond a man in tights throwing nets through the city, the joy of having power or silly jokes. It is about someone who was always beaten by life, Peter Parker suffered bullying, suffered his parents' and uncle Ben's death, just like any other tragedy of his life, any weak person would have lived with the desire for revenge against the world, but that's what makes a hero, I can't describe in simple words what these movies meant to me.
These movies have more depth than any other spider-man movie. I'm sure this is why we can all relate to this movie. Peter wasn't perfect he had flaws but he always tried to do the right thing.
I think there are more reasons to why both have done well and sometimes badly lol. But for me, when it comes to Superhero Movies and Characters, Batman and Spiderman are the Iconic faces of both studios!

Star wars and raimi trilogy 🔥
Star Wars and Raimi trilogy are also my favourites.

So satisfying see Tobey portraying Peter Parker in theaters again.

Uncle Joey Nose is the REAL HERO
This was clean than a mfcker! 🔥Now I have to rewatch the whole thang 🔥🔥
Same here👏🏽👏🏽
This Trilogy is the reason for MCU and DC's success
And the dark knight trilogy
I think there are more reasons to why both have done well and sometimes badly lol. But for me, when it comes to Superhero Movies and Characters, Batman and Spiderman are the Iconic faces of both studios!
True, that 🔥
