It's true but this is because of unfair dominance of Google which doesn't allow any other competitor to compete in the market. Now the Google's dominance is over, I am sure that new developers will get oppurtunities and in future we will get many good options available other than Google.

Bhar OS is a fork of Android open source. Its not completely built from scratch. Even though its hard to compete google. No competitor is available in market which is better than Google Maps, To run all these infrastructures servers cost, google too needs money and we are using these services for free. As an Android developer I agree with what google is doing

People won't let us grow that easily. Many of my clients from India, they won't pay properly, I like outside clients they do everything on time. It's easy to build and grow a startup outside than in India.

1. Microsoft edge and brave instead of chrome
2. Outlook instead of Gmail
3. mapmyIndia instead of Google map
4. Maga and samsung cloud instead of Google drive
Only remaining is the play Store and RUclips (may be next to impossible to change). But most of the alternatives are actually better then Google with better security and more customisation

One of the drawbacks now will be security issues on Android phones. Not all users are educated to understand the security risk apps will pose when downloaded from non Google Play Store platforms. Good measures are required here to make it safe for such users.
I've done the similar experiment where i opened the 30 tabs in chrome and the same 30 tabs in opera. Surprisingly chrome used arround 600MB-700MB of RAM where Opera used arround 1.2GB to 1.5GB of RAM and also Opera runs continuously in background even after closing. Where chrome ends its all processes after closing.
Well It's great that BharOS has some unique features, but Android is all the way dominating.
And when it comes to iOS we all know about its great security features where the new OS can lack in some ways.
Google product are really useful but one problem is we can't uninstall them🙂
Govt just want to give users their own choice... Now its us how have to decide we will stay on google on any other... that's a fair decision

In terms of data privacy. Neither Bhar OS nor Google can stop it. If we talk about Pre-Installed app, those are needful not unnecessary. iPhone users can relate.
And about penalty, Google might seem sceptical but why someone will just ask money on the basis of things that are not so serious.
If I talk about dominance, definitely Google does that but it doesn’t mean Google is overloaded with unnecessary things.
I can’t really say what will happen but whatever happens will be good 👍
But this change will improve life of many. The fine was really a good action 😊

Giving opportunities to indian creators and coders is good, but it should not be done by limiting others. Google is leading in it's sector due to its easy use and accessibility and india can't beat it in today's indian technology.
It's like saying "cars are banned, you must use rickshaw for transportation because the rickshaw drivers are going broke” ultimately only us the society will be harmed.
Instead of investing money on developing new, better technology than the west, india is limiting Western tech so we HAVE TO use indian tech, which is not much great today but surely has the best scope to improve with so much genius indians

Sadly these Indian tech companies won't be the new companies, it's only a very good opportunity for the already existing gaints like reliance jio etc,..while even if there r new companies that wud like to emerge, that will pose a tough compitition for these gaint companies, the Indian gov rules & policies, taxations etc wud hurt them more & lend easy support for gaint to come up in te markets.

CCI has done the right thing. I know that at present, survival without Google is difficult but after the end of dominance of google, new tech developers will get oppurtunities and surely, it is possible that we can get a better OS than google.

Personally I don't see a problem with having Google ,coz it's fast , mostly safe and easy to use .

I think Google is right. Android is their patented product so they have the right to control it. If companies and app developers don't follow their policies so they should not be on their platforms. But the preinstalled apps should be uninstallable.

Because of google monopoly , other apps are not developed as they didnt got users at that amount plus we get google preloaded thats why we prefer google over others , in any case if people get an option then there is chance that we can see rise of other better apps in the android market

Making Independent is good but Google every apps and service are so accurate and easy to use in my case most of the services used in smartphone are from google ever some people call smartphone to Android phone in my opinion making a independent clean bloatwareless OS is a good decision but it's hard to compete google services because in India everyone depends on Google and it's services.
I get your point but everybody in India is dependent on Google because Google never gave chance for other softwares to grow .
We are so used to google interface that even if other apps provide better service to us we feel unfamiliar but now since we can experience new apps we have a choice to check out other apps and get familiar to other apps interface rather than taking Google as default .
