Scrat, the little squirrel dude, was originally a made up animal for the movie - the joke is he's a saber-toothed squirrel because everything was saber-toothed back in the ice age. However, years later, palaeontologists found a real animal that almost perfectly looks like him. It's called Cronopio dentiacutus; take a look! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cronopio_dentiacutus.
You should check out the animated show Primal by Genndy Tartakovsky! It follows a T-rex and an early human, and it’s so action-packed, brutal, heartbreaking, and weird. I’ve got a soft spot for animals, and this series made me cry like a baby. It’s gorgeously animated, and one of the most unique shows I’ve ever seen. It’s a short watch, but so rewarding.
I grew up with this film on video tape. (saying that makes me feel old) So naturally it's a bit of a classic for me. However, I'd say steer clear of the sequels. 3 was okay, but the rest were pretty trash imo.
Yeah they definitely didnt get the homo sapiens look right in this movie. The people and kid in this one is nightmare fuel. Just horrible. And no-one can blame the age of the movie for that!
Gotta say for whatever reason it's not one of my favourites even though it should be. Good story, great animation, Bob and Doug McKenzie but.....I don't know.
To me I like Collision Course (#5) better than Continental Drift(#4). I think it is because I find Peaches' voice actor so friggen annoying in Continental Drift. I do like the introduction of Granny though and Capt. Gut was a good villain.
Animated movies you should react to are Monsters Inc and Wreck it Ralph
I do remember they had that squirrel in every advertisement when this came out.
I’m glad you understand Scrat’s devastation.
This is one of those rare movies where I enjoy it much more in Spanish. The deliveries are more intense and hilarious.
“Diego” is a Spanish name. Spain isn’t that far off from the North.

If you’ve never watched wreck it Ralph I’d think you’d rate it a top 5 animated
I saw that in threatres actually and the sequel
@@AdamfromFWCI ah I think I heard you say something in a video about that now that I remember anyways been watching for a little now love the channel
Scrat is one of my favorite animated chatacters. He's the new Wile E Coyote and the acorn is the road runner. Just brilliant!
😂 Dennis Leary deserves better! Why does everyone think he sounds like Clooney? Im creased 😂
the kind of sloth that sid is was Way bigger than he is depicted as, in real life my money would be on the sloth over the sabertooth in a fight
Ya they were like 12 feet tall standing on their hind legs and had claws over a foot long. Sid should have been as tall as Manny.
Can you watch Ice Age 2: The Meltdown.

The other ice age movies are good except the 5th film goes a little down hill
