Hey, Lisa! This looks great! Will have to try it! It’s a variation of what my Mama used to make and I haven’t made in a while…this has motivated me. I have a can of salmon in the cupboard now. The way my Mama made it was 1 can of salmon, drained and skin removed - sometimes removing the bones, sometimes not (they’re so soft and good for you, too - calcium), 1/2 medium onion - diced, 1/2 sleeve of saltines - roughly crumbled, Lawry’s season salt & pepper to taste. Form into patties about an inch thick, dredge in self-rising flour, then pan fry in a little oil until golden brown on both sides. We always served it with English pea salad and potatoes of some kind….usually French fries. Yummmmmmmm…great memory of my Mama’s cooking. I miss my Mama, too, Lisa…praying for you and your trip. It will be good to “go with you” via your videos! 🙏💖🙋🏻♀️ ~Janis
Never tried Old Bay before, but I'm a fan of canned Salomon. Gonna have to give this a try. Have a safe trip and looking forward to more videos from your adventure.
Hey, Lisa great to see you again! I am most definitely going to give these little suckers a try I think I will use my Warburtons wholemeal bread instead of that funny cake stuffing you used AND I will put some prawns in as well. Can't wait to see your travel vids.
Salmon cake burgers are a standard at my house. Try them on a bed of kimchi and skinny bread; be sure and save a couple patties for salmon hash and eggs.
Never knew there was an old Bay spice packet for salmon cakes!! We like cooking and camping also. We live just North of Pensacola FL, we like Fort Pickens and Blackwater River State Park. Great Video, thanks 👍. Ps. The wild caught Alaskan Red Sockeye Salmon has a better smell and color.
I was raised on salmon patties that’s what my mom made and how we did it we never put them on a bun that was a good idea but we didn’t we just had them on our plate had boiled potatoes and cut them up and then put cream peas over them a white sauce you know with peas and it was good very bland but that’s where the salmon was a big she she was Norwegian so that was huge then my grandpa could sit down and eat an entire can of that canned salmon just the can with a fork the crazy guy thank you for sharing
So it didn’t look like very much in that Old Bay envelope. If you were doing that from scratch, maybe 1/2 cup of Panko crumbs and 1/2 tablespoon of Old Bay or whatever (Mrs. Dash) for flavor? It did look really good. I’ve had some canned salmon on the shelf with no idea what to do with it.
I’m sorry your mom passed minded to in November and because of the Covid thing we haven’t been able to have a memorial service or anything for but we’re going to do that coming up in August hopefully I’ll be a more of a closure for me because it’s it’s kind a rough hang in there girl
I agree. I leave skin and bones in. Plus don't throw away the juice. Use it if mix is too dry. I can't imagine someone cooking salmon if they can't stand the smell of it.
NNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...NO MAYO, OLD BAY,,,JUST ONION, 1 EGG, BREAD CRUMS...FRY IN OIL....ALSO FRIED POTATOES....MADE THEM FOR 50 YEARS...MOTHER MADE AS WELL...MUSTARD,,,BUN...

Hi Liza. Please tell me why you didn’t grill at the Ninja Foodi?
I put mustard on mine and I deep fry them.
Thanks for the suggestions.
I love canned tuna but not a fan of salmon. Looks good though.
Yeah I wax a little hesitant of the canned salmon.
Try using mustard
Thx!
I love salmon but my wife hates it. Maybe she'll runaway with her boyfriend and I can make these.

Can is not bad you can eat everything in the can.
OMG ! You throw away salmon skin ?! Wow.......I can't believe that. Definitely you are not fish person.
