People have to be careful in what Muslims claim the Qur'an is saying. One verse says, we will test you with hunger, poverty,loss of goods etc etc and give glad tiding to those who are patient; the translation says something like that. That above is a very sick minded ideology well suited to create sick minded people. IE a poor person who is poor their entire life, that is a test from god ?
Even you can overwhelm any Islamic scholar ,just ask them questions on three issues ,given below They'll fail on all three: 1 *Yajuj Majuj-Chapter 18:86 to 18:97.* As per Quran , these evil creatures are imprisoned behind iron wall built by Dhul quranain and will come out only on day of judgement ,Sura 21:96 and cause fear everywhere Sura 21:97. So where are these creatures for last 3000 years, where is iron wall, location and country , open challenge to any person, to any muslim,to answer my queries!!! 2. *The quran says Mohammad took night journey to meet Allah Chapter 17:1-2.* The journey took place reportedly in 621CE, one year before Hijra, flight to Medina (622 CE) Mohammad during journey stopped at Mosque in Jerusalem, the furthest mosque as per quran, and then went in flying donkey, al Burraq, to meet Allah. Question: there were no mosque in 621 C.E. in Jerusalem, simply because there were no Müslïms in 621C.E. in Jerusalem. møhamMãd had only 75 followers in 621C.E. and all of them were in Mecca. The earliest record of mosque in Jerusalem was in 709 CE, nearly 100 years after Muhammad's death. So which is the mosque mentioned in Qur'an. *3.The Qur'an says that the moon was split into two.* Qur'an 54:1-2 The Hour has come near, and the moon has split [in two]. And if they see a miracle, they turn away and say, 'Passing magic' (Quran 54:1-2). The hadiths say that the two halves rested on the top of two mountains Sahih Muslim 2802 c Anas reported that the moon was split up in two parts and in the hadith recorded in Abu Dawud, the words are: " The moon was split up into two parts during the life of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)." Sahih Muslim 2802 a, b Anas reported that the people of Mecca demanded from Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) that he should show them (some) signs (miracles) and he showed twice the splitting of the moon. This hadlth has been narrated on the authority of Anas through another chain of transmitters The Moon was split at the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ into two parts: one part was above the mountains, and the other part was below them. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘Witness!’” (Bukhari 4864) (Muslim 2800) Question - None of the advanced astronomers of those times , especially in India, China, Greece , Maya, or any other historical source has recorded this event. The splitting of moon should have been visible to the entire world and yet there is zero record of this event , proving that it was false, proving the falsity of the Qur'an.

When God Almighty decreed that the polytheists should be prevented from approaching the Sacred Mosque, whether in the pilgrimage or at other times, the Quraysh said they would be deprived of the commercial activity that took place during the pilgrimage, and that they would therefore suffer financial loss. And so God compensated them for that by ordering them to battle the people of the scriptures so that they either accepted Islam or paid the jizya tax ("being in a state of submission"). The Messenger of God therefore decided to battle the Byzantines. This was because they were the people nearest to him and those most appropriate to invite to the truth because of their proximity to Islam and to those who believed in it. God Almighty had stated, "0 you who believe, fight those unbelievers who are near you. Let them see severity in you; and know that God is with those who are pious." (Ibn Kathir Vol.4 p.1)

This is an issue that many muslims have tried to give it a different interpretation to less 'embarrassment' by saying that -you beat them with"a tooth brush" like stick,or strike but dont leave a mark. Not weak Daif Hadiths Muhammad actually encouraged the rape of others captured in battle. This hadith provides the context for the Quranic verse (4:24): The Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) sent a military expedition to Awtas on the occasion of the battle of Hunain. They met their enemy and fought with them. They defeated them and took them captives. Some of the Companions of the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) were reluctant to have intercourse with the female captives in the presence of their husbands who were unbelievers. So Allah, the Exalted, sent down the Qur’anic verse: (Sura 4:24) "And all married women (are forbidden) unto you save those (captives) whom your right hands possess." (Abu Dawud 2150, also Muslim 3433)
"We went out with Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) on the expedition to the Bi'l-Mustaliq and took captive some excellent Arab women; and we desired them, for we were suffering from the absence of our wives, (but at the same time) we also desired ransom for them. So we decided to have sexual intercourse with them but by observing 'azl (Withdrawing the male sexual organ before emission of semen to avoid-conception). But we said: We are doing an act whereas Allah's Messenger is amongst us; why not ask him? So we asked Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him), and he said: It does not matter" (Sahih Muslim 3371)
59:40 The word used in the Quran is “Daraba”, same word used for doing Tayammum, and “Daraba” literally means Tap Tap. It’s not even beating or striking. That’s why proper understanding of Arabic is very important.
Either way it's ungodly. The Bible never says to even tap tap your wife. But to love her like yourself. A truly godly man doesn't need to tap tap a woman. He is a righteous leader that the wife wants to follow in everything!

I'm a native Arabic speaker. Just because "beat" can be done on a TamTam doesn't mean it can't mean beating black and blue...which is just what was happening in the hadith. Nor is my wife a TamTam, either.
@@DrGeorgeAntonios The root word that is being used there in that verse, 4:34, is being used twice in other verses in that chapter and there it means "to go forth etc.". For wise people it would mean "let them go forth", because it immediately starts talking about the divorce. “Beating" the women before divorcing them doesn't even make sense.
@Seagate1981 etymology is an amateur's game and we can play if you want but recall that the tafsirs (whereof I showed 2) speak of beating...as in beating. Pretty sure early Arab commentators knew better Arabic than you my friend.
I woukd argue that George's arguments are incorrect. 1) The violent commands in the Medinah verses are the ultimate views of Quran , these verses are not genetically opened ended commands that could be cherry picked for sanitisation. Those violent verses are true commands in plain languages to be understood as they are. 2) The valid hadiths are in concordance with the Quran in advocating violence. The Quranic viloent messageas are not an open end generical words that could be spinned into a benevolent messages. 3) When the theological ideas were put into practice legally in the form of jurisprudence, all agreed ro the violent nature of the religion. 4) Abundance historical evidence to support 1), 2), 3) , 1),2) are the genotypes , 3) and 4) are the phenotypes. 5) All monotheistic religions are inherently intolerant and violent in nature . Christianity is no better till it was critically appraised by secularism.

Lubna.Candid You asked how they faired in the debate. I think both of them did well while George looked good and professional, Zak simple and honest. At the end they invited others to their religion. This I don’t agree with conversion anymore while it might have been ok a thousand years ago but there is no need for it anymore as you can follow the good of all religions without converting. Besides conversion brings in hatred and divides humanity. You see organic conversion is fine but organized mass conversion like the missionaries are a recipe for violence. Look at Nigeria, the Muslims and Christians cannot get along and violence is inevitable. The missionaries of both the religions have destroyed the wild culture of Africa. I agree with Mike when he said what is natural is nature based religions not the organized religions. And to relate with God you don’t need scriptures of any kind.

Logically, you have two choices: either they are all wrong, or one is right. Best to do some research and figure out if any one is true, and which one that is. Good beatings 🤕 Quran (4:34) - "Men are the maintainers of women because Allah has made some of them to excel others and because they spend out of their property; the good women are therefore obedient, guarding the unseen as Allah has guarded; and (as to) those on whose part you fear desertion, admonish them, and leave them alone in the sleeping-places and beat them; then if they obey you, do not seek a way against them; surely Allah is High, Great." Contemporary translations sometimes water down the word 'beat', but it is the same one used in verse 8:12 and clearly means 'to strike'. Quran (38:44) - "And take in your hand a green branch and beat her with it, and do not break your oath..." Allah telling Job to beat his wife (Tafsir). Hadith and Sira -Sahih al-Bukhari 5825- A woman came to Muhammad and begged him to stop her husband from beating her. Her skin was bruised so badly that it is described as being "greener" than the green veil she was wearing. Muhammad did not admonish her husband, but instead ordered her to return to her husband and submit to his sexual desires. Sahih al-Bukhari 5825 - "Aisha said, 'I have not seen any woman suffering as much as the believing women'" Muhammad's own wife complained Muslim women were abused worse than other women. Sahih Muslim 974 b: - Muhammad struck his favorite wife, Aisha, in the chest one evening when she left the house without his permission. Aisha narrates, "He struck me on the chest which caused me pain." Sahih Muslim 1478 - Muhammad's fathers-in-law (Abu Bakr and Umar) amused him by slapping his wives (Aisha and Hafsa) for annoying him. According to the Hadith, the prophet of Islam laughed upon hearing this. Abu Dawud (2141) - "Iyas bin ‘Abd Allah bin Abi Dhubab reported the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) as saying: Do not beat Allah’s handmaidens, but when ‘Umar came to the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) and said: Women have become emboldened towards their husbands, he (the Prophet) gave permission to beat them." (This is graded sahih - authentic. It is also reported in Sunan Ibn Majah 9:1985, also graded sahih) At first, Muhammad forbade men from beating their wives. As the hadith indicates, he rescinded this once it was reported that women were becoming emboldened toward their husbands. Beatings in a Muslim marriage were deemed necessary at times to keep the woman in her place. Abu Dawud (2142) - "The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: A man will not be asked as to why he beat his wife." The authenticity of this chain of narration is characterized as daif (weak), however, a similar verse from Sunan Ibn Majah 3:9:1986 is said to be hasan (sufficient). Abu Dawud (2126) - "A man from the Ansar called Basrah said: 'I married a virgin woman in her veil. When I entered upon her, I found her pregnant. (I mentioned this to the Prophet).' The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: 'She will get the dower, for you made her vagina lawful for you. The child will be your slave. When she has begotten (a child), flog her'" A Muslim man thinks he is getting a virgin for a wife, then finds out that she is pregnant. Muhammad tells him to treat the woman as a sex slave and then flog her after she delivers the child. (Despite multiple chains of narration, this hadith is graded as daif). Sahih al-Bukhari 6845- Though not the beating of a wife, Aisha narrates how her father, the first "rightly guided caliph" hit her violently as a form of rebuke when she was in bed: "Abu Bakr came to towards me and struck me violently with his fist and said, 'You have detained the people because of your necklace'. But I remained motionless as if I was dead... although that hit was very painful" Ibn Ishaq/Hisham 969 - Requires that a married woman be "put in a separate room and beaten lightly" if she "act in a sexual manner toward others." According to the Hadith, this can be for an offense as petty as merely being alone with a man to whom she is not related. Kash-shaf (the revealer) of al-Zamkhshari (Vol. 1, p. 525) - [Muhammad said] "Hang up your scourge where your wife can see it" Reliance of the Traveller (Islamic Law) M10.11 - Dealing with a Rebellious Wife - When a husband notices signs of rebelliousness in his wife (whether in words, as when she answers him coldly when she used to do so politely, or he asks her to come to bed and she refuses, contrary to her usual habit; or whether in acts, as when he finds her averse to him when she was previously kind and cheerful), he warns her in words ("Your obeying me is religiously obligatory''). If she commits rebelliousness, he keeps from sleeping (having sex) with her without words, and may hit her, but not in a way that injures her... it is permissible for him to hit her he believes that hitting her will bring her back to the right path

It's possible that Tafsir narrative is a complete farce and a doctrine has been engineered from the above verse,to dominate woman.Basically KWM root means 👉 rise,standup and wake. So man is a Kawam to a woman;and maybe nothing to do with specifically marriage. Standup seems ,like man stands up ,so woman can sit. b) Muhammad hitting Aishia,I reject as bs. c) The lady being green from bruises,could be a truth based tale. As far as I understood, the beater was from the Qurazi tribe,which was a Jewish tribe,and I have felt that, Muhammad did not intervene because he was not in a position at that time,to intervene in another tribes members behaviour.

I don't have a degree in Islamic studies but I read the Qur'an in my native Arabic and was born in what is sadly now a Muslim country. I have spent hours researching, as you can tell by notes on the screen. Pretty sure I know what I'm talking about.

Mohammad during journey stopped at Mosque in Jerusalem, the furthest mosque as per quran, and then went in flying donkey, al Burraq, to meet Allah.
Question: there were no mosque in 621 C.E. in Jerusalem, simply because there were no Müslïms in 621C.E. in Jerusalem. møhamMãd had only 75 followers in 621C.E. and all of them were in Mecca. The earliest record of mosque in Jerusalem was in 709 CE, nearly 100 years after Muhammad's death. So which is the mosque mentioned in Qur'an.

Question - None of the advanced astronomers of those times , especially in India, China, Greece , Maya, or any other historical source has recorded this event. The splitting of moon should have been visible to the entire world and yet there is zero record of this event , proving that it was false, proving the falsity of the Qur'an.

1) Verse 9:29 says to fight the "People of the Book" on account of their beliefs.
2) Verse 9:29 says nothing about fighting in self-defense.
3) Verse 9:29 was narrated at the time of the Tabuk expedition, yet it says nothing about either the expedition or any impending threat to the Muslim community.
4) Muslims were not under attack in Muslim lands when the verse was narrated, but they did travel to someone else's land, attack them and force jizya... just as 9:29 says to do.

For wise people it would mean "let them go forth", because it immediately starts talking about the divorce.

I woukd argue that George's arguments are incorrect.
1) The violent commands in the Medinah verses are the ultimate views of Quran , these verses are not genetically opened ended commands that could be cherry picked for sanitisation. Those violent verses are true commands in plain languages to be understood as they are.
2) The valid hadiths are in concordance with the Quran in advocating violence. The Quranic viloent messageas are not an open end generical words that could be spinned into a benevolent messages.
3) When the theological ideas were put into practice legally in the form of jurisprudence, all agreed ro the violent nature of the religion.
4) Abundance historical evidence to support 1), 2), 3) , 1),2) are the genotypes , 3) and 4) are the phenotypes.
5) All monotheistic religions are inherently intolerant and violent in nature . Christianity is no better till it was critically appraised by secularism.

Lubna.Candid You asked how they faired in the debate. I think both of them did well while George looked good and professional, Zak simple and honest. At the end they invited others to their religion. This I don’t agree with conversion anymore while it might have been ok a thousand years ago but there is no need for it anymore as you can follow the good of all religions without converting. Besides conversion brings in hatred and divides humanity. You see organic conversion is fine but organized mass conversion like the missionaries are a recipe for violence. Look at Nigeria, the Muslims and Christians cannot get along and violence is inevitable. The missionaries of both the religions have destroyed the wild culture of Africa. I agree with Mike when he said what is natural is nature based religions not the organized religions. And to relate with God you don’t need scriptures of any kind.

Logically, you have two choices: either they are all wrong, or one is right. Best to do some research and figure out if any one is true, and which one that is. And if you notice Islam is very much a law based religion but Christianity is love based religion so what works for one kind of people will never work for another kind. This choice is a welcome. Contemporary translations sometimes water down the word 'beat', but it is the same one used in verse 8:12 and clearly means 'to strike'.
Quran (38:44) - "And take in your hand a green branch and beat her with it, and do not break your oath..." Allah telling Job to beat his wife (Tafsir).
Hadith and Sira
-Sahih al-Bukhari 5825- A woman came to Muhammad and begged him to stop her husband from beating her. Her skin was bruised so badly that it is described as being "greener" than the green veil she was wearing. Muhammad did not admonish her husband, but instead ordered her to return to her husband and submit to his sexual desires.
Sahih al-Bukhari 5825 - "Aisha said, 'I have not seen any woman suffering as much as the believing women'" Muhammad's own wife complained Muslim women were abused worse than other women.
Sahih Muslim 974 b: - Muhammad struck his favorite wife, Aisha, in the chest one evening when she left the house without his permission. Aisha narrates, "He struck me on the chest which caused me pain."
Sahih Muslim 1478 - Muhammad's fathers-in-law (Abu Bakr and Umar) amused him by slapping his wives (Aisha and Hafsa) for annoying him. According to the Hadith, the prophet of Islam laughed upon hearing this.
Abu Dawud (2141) - "Iyas bin ‘Abd Allah bin Abi Dhubab reported the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) as saying: Do not beat Allah’s handmaidens, but when ‘Umar came to the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) and said: Women have become emboldened towards their husbands, he (the Prophet) gave permission to beat them." (This is graded sahih - authentic. It is also reported in Sunan Ibn Majah 9:1985, also graded sahih) At first, Muhammad forbade men from beating their wives. As the hadith indicates, he rescinded this once it was reported that women were becoming emboldened toward their husbands. Beatings in a Muslim marriage were deemed necessary at times to keep the woman in her place.
Abu Dawud (2142) - "The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: A man will not be asked as to why he beat his wife." The authenticity of this chain of narration is characterized as daif (weak), however, a similar verse from Sunan Ibn Majah 3:9:1986 is said to be hasan (sufficient).
Abu Dawud (2126) - "A man from the Ansar called Basrah said: 'I married a virgin woman in her veil. When I entered upon her, I found her pregnant. (I mentioned this to the Prophet).' The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: 'She will get the dower, for you made her vagina lawful for you. The child will be your slave. When she has begotten (a child), flog her'" A Muslim man thinks he is getting a virgin for a wife, then finds out that she is pregnant. Muhammad tells him to treat the woman as a sex slave and then flog her after she delivers the child. (Despite multiple chains of narration, this hadith is graded as daif).
Sahih al-Bukhari 6845- Though not the beating of a wife, Aisha narrates how her father, the first "rightly guided caliph" hit her violently as a form of rebuke when she was in bed: "Abu Bakr came to towards me and struck me violently with his fist and said, 'You have detained the people because of your necklace'. But I remained motionless as if I was dead... although that hit was very painful"
Ibn Ishaq/Hisham 969 - Requires that a married woman be "put in a separate room and beaten lightly" if she "act in a sexual manner toward others." According to the Hadith, this can be for an offense as petty as merely being alone with a man to whom she is not related.
Kash-shaf (the revealer) of al-Zamkhshari (Vol. 1, p. 525) - [Muhammad said] "Hang up your scourge where your wife can see it"
Reliance of the Traveller (Islamic Law) M10.11 - Dealing with a Rebellious Wife - When a husband notices signs of rebelliousness in his wife (whether in words, as when she answers him coldly when she used to do so politely, or he asks her to come to bed and she refuses, contrary to her usual habit; or whether in acts, as when he finds her averse to him when she was previously kind and cheerful), he warns her in words ("Your obeying me is religiously obligatory''). If she commits rebelliousness, he keeps from sleeping (having sex) with her without words, and may hit her, but not in a way that injures her... it is permissible for him to hit her he believes that hitting her will bring her back to the right path

I don't have a degree in Islamic studies but I read the Qur'an in my native Arabic and was born in what is sadly now a Muslim country. I have spent hours researching, as you can tell by notes on the screen. Pretty sure I know what I'm talking about.
