Why don’t they build 10 gates rather than 7?

As the design is intend for maximum green, I keep asking with out a reply how much area is allocated for parking allowing how many spaces. Local shopping centres appear to have far more parking provisions and this airport will need far more then shopping centres . They will need room for a minimum 300 taxis alone and one plane can absorb more then 300 taxis. So you have a fair question.

This airport will have lots of automation so dont think there will be much job opportunities?

Direct and indirect ,A lot of employment will follow but just not all at the airport itself. Build a port of any type and industry follows in turn so does residential . 100 years from now is the future of all Western Sydney thanks to the foresight of the planners for this incredible under taking. All these video clips will be archives of history . Even your comment will be included in that if you elect not to delete it.

Looks really small. Like a regional.

If you have the means, go and have an up close look and you may be impressed. This is only stage one built with tax payers money . Stage two will be paid for with airport profits along with any additional upgrade plans when or if required.

    Huh? Single runway only?
    Pretty uninspiring architecture.

It’s the most advanced runway in the world so can handle more capacity than most. That said, the airport is just the first stage and is designed to expand ahead of demand.

Aah yes, a nice shiny new airport in the middle of what will always be a turd - Sydney's Western Sluburbs.

Mascot was an out of the way clearing in a paddock when first flight and that was the basically the start of the twentieth century . Now it has reached full capacity and unable to expand . Now we are in the twenty first century and hopefully this will serve us for another 125 years. Like Mascot this airport will upgrade as time requires.

Is that an international airport. ????Looks like a regional airport in Wagga Wagga. Have they seen what Cambodia and Vietnam is building????We wait overv40 years and get this small airport and costs billions…… a joke…..
