I am looking for that sustained trilling sound.

Ok so I couldn’t do it at first but I really watched the video over and over and I kept trying and then I got the first little bit so I just kept doing that to progress while also focusing on what I do. It works guys lol it takes practice and patience

I never had a problem rolling my “r”. The trick is the position of the tongue. However, certain words like “barrio” are a little difficult because the accent is on the first syllable but if it were on the one just after the “rr” instead for some reason it makes rolling the “r” much easier. I don’t know why. Anyway, I have practiced that word and now it is not a problem. If I have a problem with Spanish pronunciation it is always to remember to pronounce the Spanish “v” correctly. I know it should never sound like English “v” yet that is what I hear a lot from native speakers. I have been practicing that for a while now.
Girl your tips have me so close in just one night after trying to do this for years!! My r is still sounding slightly more d but there is flashes of it coming out right and seeing as I couldn’t for a second my even the r/d sound roll before that is huge! The drama word helped so much!
Thanks a lot, I have Afrikaans genes in me , so I find I easy to roll my Rs, all you have to do is say "Trok" but with your tounge just behind your front teeth. Practice and I hope that helps!

This was an excellent tutorial. I think the hardest part for me was knowing to give it a "strong gust". I was too weak with my airflow so it never came out when I wanted to. Also your distinción is lovely! Too bad I'm learning Italian LOL

I think the difficult part that a lot of the teachers don't properly explain is how are they blowing out of the mouth. Are you blowing off the side of your mouth? Are you using your teeth as part of the process of blowing? Are you clinching your teeth at any part of your mouth?
I have exact same questions! Videos like this are good at explaining the tongue position, but then they go "now just blow and there you have the trill". Only, many of us don't. I think the key is that it does take time and practice, it can't be done in 5 minutes (unless you could do it already).

I'll reveal to you a secret: some Spanish people are unable to pronounce the double R in the Spanish way, so they pronounce it in the French way (with the back of the tongue), which is weird and funny to say the least :) When I was a child we used to ask them to say that: "Parra tenía una perra. Guerra tenía una parra. La perra de Parra subió a la parra de Guerra. Guerra pegó con la porra a la perra de Parra".

There's a genetic component to looping your tongue like I do in the warm up, but not for rolling Rs 😄🙌🏼 There is some people with "tongue tie" who cannot pronounce words normally, but if you can pronounce "butter", sure you won't have problems to trilling the RRs soon 👏🏼👏🏼

I did it! I could do the normal 'r', but once she said "blow air" at the same tongue position, it came out naturally like a motor.

These tips are actually incredible. For those saying it doesn't work, experiment with your tongue placement. Everyone's positioning is different.

I’ve just accepted this is one thing I’ll never be able to do lol I can do it by blowing air but if I try to implement a word it doesn’t work 🤷♂️

I can roll my Rs but only from the back of my mouth (not using my tongue) i try to use my tongue but it doesnt work so i guess this is good enough
