- Many times we just don’t do anything in a market downturn and hence have to see unrealized losses for quite a prolonged period. In this video, I have discussed about the advantages of hedging our portfolio in a downturn and how you can actually hedge it. There are various ways of doing so and I have discussed them using practical examples.

How can you say that if reliance close at 2500 after 3 months still you have 12500 profit in future. It's only 1250 profit because after 3 months in future buy price is 2505 and sell price is 2500 so (2505-2500)*250 = 1250 only

Thanks for all your support through your videos but I have a problem, I have been making losses trying to make profit trading. I thought trading demo account is just like trading the real market... can anyone help me out or at least advise me on what to do?
Trading with an expert is the best strategy for newbies and busy investors who have little or no time to monitor trade
I will advice you should stop trading on your own if you keep losing. I Have my source and I'll rather stick to them as I'm not ready to start trading on my own
@Patricia Griffin I'm so surprised you mentioned Mrs Thomas, i thought i'm the only one trading with her 😯
Mrs Thomas earned my trust since middle of last year, when my colleague got paid after investing USD 1000. I started quickly
@@mitchelltorres2616 I invest with Mrs Debra too, she charges 20% commission on profits made after Trading section and that's fair compared to the effort she puts in to make huge profit
The Market have been suffering over the past month, with all the three indexes recording losses in recent weeks. My portfolio of $750k is down to $592k. Any recommendations to scale up my returns before retirement will be highly appreciated.
The probability that a big one day rally occurs during in bear market is nearly twice as high in basis of randomness.
You have to diversify your portfolios to include commodities, inflation-indexed bonds and stocks of companies with solid cash flows, as opposed to growth stocks where valuations were based on future potential earnings
@@geraldvolkovfoley3479 Absolutely! 58 of 100 biggest rallies occurred during bear market
True, initially I wasn't quite impressed with my gains, opposed to my previous performances, I was doing so badly, figured I needed to diversify into better assets, I touched base with a portfolio-advisor and that same year, I pulled a net gain of $550k...that's like 7times more than I average on my own.
@@tequiladrops2269 that's impressive!, I could really use the expertise of this advisors , my portfolio has been down bad....who’s the person guiding you.
The analogy at the beginning is the perfect demo of how hedging takes place
Since investing in equity is being encouraged so much, I feel how to file through ITR 3 should also be encouraged at the same time.

I always laughs in your videos. Your sense of humor is fantastic. I laughed when you said "if you only have 3 shares of reliance industries ". Your acting skills are awesome. By the way, it is nice educational video but little short. I simply understood something about hedging by futures and call and put options. I think you should shoot a separate detailed videos on the same topics above. Thank you you

While we are hedging, we are locking the profit.
So better exit 250 share at 2500 for 625000.
Y because additional 12500 profit for 625000 investment is just 2 percent for 2 months duration.
More over this 12500 is theoritical profit.
When you have multiple scripts, you can hedge with gold, silver or buy nifty put.

Excellent video mam.. On the Futures , If I understand correctly the setup will work correctly only if I own the exact QTY as the one FUT lot (for reliance its 250). Common man may not own 250 shares of Reliance (worth 250 X 2500 = 6.25 Lakhs). So may be the better hedge strategy for ppl owning less qty is thru Options. In this case how the QTY will be balanced? That work sheet might have to be made for Options too, in my humble opinion..
love the ranveer singh moves, u are very adorable rachna ranade
You are great...all the best

Hi Rachana after an year I saw your portfolio hedging . It is really worth watching. Thanks for that.
But I have a question here - suppose as per your Saraukhan example - if the price goes up more than 3000 - but I sold it in the future for 2550 - I will incur a loss right. Apologies If my understanding is wrong. Please help me to understand
At the end of future expiry that 50 rs premium will be equal to stock price from 2550 to 2500 and that profit of 12500 Rs will become zero. From this startegy there will be no profit no loss . But you will make a loss of interest amount on holding a corpus of 625000 Rs which 250 ×2500= 625000 Rs . Hedging is possible only by option to get result either you will loose your premium and other side unlimited profit..Future can be used to hedge your stock when you have made a certain amount of profit for eg - the stock is making a profit of 30 % or any other amount. Now you expect the stock to go down so you can hedge with future but for certain period when there is volatility in market ..bcoz when you hedge at the same time you choose for no profit no loss on that stock .
The animation initially😊😊😎😎
By selling the future we are locking upside profit in stocks
Soo nice introduction

Thank you.
Here it has been assumed that in srk's case the futures and share trade at the same price after 3 months which is not always the case.
Hello mam I first watch your video with Sandeep Maheshwari Sir in that video you sing a song and your voice is soo lovely I want to ask you do you have any other music channel on RUclips ?? Where we can learn some music lessons from you.
My question is when we already planning for long term then what's the use of hedging?
I think u have discussed about Protective put strategy
Mam thankuh soo much for sharing your knowledge. I would like add that could uh plz give knowledge of startup related issues...... How to overcome competition, setting right prices n all..... It would be a great help for all the small entrepreneurs as well.

@10:58 in futures, for stock derivatives, deals are settled through physical delivery. So ideally the buyer has to purchase all the stocks from SRK at the exercise price. So SRK can not actually sell his stocks and pay the buyer in cash. In that case, how did SRK profit from the deal when the market price went 3000?
is it? could you elaborate the question pls? Thanks

Hi ma’am, please do a video on piping industry
This strategy is useful only if you want to sell the shares at the end of 3 months. If you are invested for long term, you will have to pay the loss incurred in the futures, but you won't book the profit by selling the shares and then later if the share price goes down, you suffer loss again. I think hedging is useless. If you have lost confidence in the company for long term just sell it.
Hi Rachana... Strategy looks great but looking for little clarity.. Considering the capital invested and the profit made after brokerage deduction and repeated this for 4 Cycles in a year... The total profit becomes approx 3.5% which is less than Bank interest... Correct me if i am wrong
You r correct these people always confuse us
Though the intended core content is good. The starting 8 mins of the videos were not of any much use. Kindly make it crisp and to the point..

Hi Rachna, is there any option in policybazaar wherein I can compare my existing health insurance with others in the market, with advise?
Futures of Reliance value is 2511(sept) and cmp of reliance is 2503. As per your logic we will get max profit of only 2000 not 12000. This hedging doesn't have any value with future. May be option hedging can be considered.
Correct bro
That the things I am also not getting it can be useful for short term instability like budget is comming so I can hedge and be neutral there.

How come covered call is becoming a portfolio hedging ?? Buying a PUT yes but maam please explain in detail newbies or less known person would be confused
Covered call can work as hedge only if you maintain a delta neutral strategy continuously. She is only scratching the surface because she wants you to buy her course.
We mainly talked about shorting futures. Also, we talked about shorting ITM call, hence hedge is effective.
Good 👍👍

Sister, i bought the shares in delivary trading but it was sold automatically.
How it is possible?
Can u explain me? 🙏
Please check with your broker.
Instead of hedging you should cover your position and take your profits home because any way you need money.
If you are a good player then you can sell a future it needs only 25 percentage of of total investment made in cash segment buying doing so you can earn better profits in both cash market which you have allready taken along with trading profits.
Can argue what if markets go up in case of you being in short then this equation itself is not worth discussing those who understand trading will surely know what I meant to say.
I do watch some of her videos really good work keep it up.new traders always update your skills by watching these type of videos or you will regret later for making unnecessary mistakes.

If everything is LOCKED, why not sell the shares and invest it in FD? A hedge is not a brick wall. Hedging is reducing the loss to some extent without totally eliminating it so that if the market behaves differently the profit opportunity is not totally lost.
only on demat means? so if I am into equity market but has shares less than 250 lots. then basically I won't be able to hedge , right
Success depends on the action or step you take to achieve it. Show me a man without investment and I'll tell you how long it takes to go bankrupt.investing creates a safe haven for the future.

Correct
When he would buy at 2550 while giving premium on futures. Wouldn't be the premium there while selling? And if yes then how is he making profit of 12500 in both cases?
Calculations are shown in the video.
On the expiry the premium gets decayed due to theta/time decay. Hence the future's price will come to the share's original price.
mam please tell about "tallwin life plan" is it scam or geniune??
Actually reliance came up at 2400
This kills the concept of investor.. Either be trader or investor.. if one keeps leg on both stones... One knows what is going to happen. If life was so easy everyone would have do it..
Every pro investors does hedging .....you won't be considered trader...if you are hedging.
