    The worst thing I can imagine with the dash button is when some jerk in your house presses the button 100 times to be funny
    Imagine having 100 boxes of GLAD garbage bags or worse, 100 bulk shipments of Tide

      +Time keeper Not true...according to Amazon, they state a feature of the button is that it "Ensures Dash Button responds only to your first press until your order is delivered."

    So few things with this one, the biggest one is that fact that she says "you pay for the privilege" of the button. But she doesn't mention that the small fee is applied to the first purchase. So then it is free. (Of course they need to to this to stop people from just ordering buttons.) It works. It is great for my elderly mom who would rather not drive.

    • @4TheRecord
      @4TheRecord 7 лет назад

      Any other business yes, restaurants no. They order their stuff from catering companies at much more lower prices than Amazon. I could see this being useful if it came with six buttons. Imagine a six button device in the staff kitchen for coffee, tea, sugar, hot chocolate, etc or a six button device in the cleaning cupboard or the printer room in an office. One button devices are pointless and wasteful.

    I mean, I wouldn't think these were a bad idea if they weren't limited to certain things. If there's company specific buttons, it should be able to be mapped to any product (or even just any common product) from that company. Hell, I think blank buttons you can map to any product you commonly purchase is a brilliant idea if they have the balls to do it. I would even buy one or two if that was an option.

    Why not go to Costco or other stuff and buy all this stuff that you can get with Amazon Prime? Unless you're that busy with work or don't have a shopping center nearby, this is pointless.

    • @RegularRetro
      @RegularRetro 9 лет назад

      Tim Joseph It's more for people who live in the city. At least that's my assumption. In Seattle Amazons very popular for people who live in the actual downtown area, you see the amazon grocery trucks all the time. But outside of the city everyone goes to the store like Costco. It's especially big in places like New York or San Francisco. where people don't usually own car

    • @retrokidbk83
      @retrokidbk83 9 лет назад +1

      ***** in New York. We have a Bodega, grocery store, supermarket, department store on almost every corner. It's nonsensical lol

    • @RegularRetro
      @RegularRetro 9 лет назад

      Retrokidbk83 I don't live there so you would know better than me. My knowledge of that kind of stuff comes from the thousands of hours of podcasts I listen to at work from people who live in cities and have everything delivered. Here in Seattle though it's more of a carry limit situation. You could walk 3 blocks to the store and buy as much as you can carry for 3 blocks or just have it delivered.

    • @retrokidbk83
      @retrokidbk83 9 лет назад

      ***** we have cabs, buses, trains, and friends and families for that. My mom would have my uncle drive us to Costco or BJs for bulk shopping because he had a truck and for regular grocery shopping we'd just go to pathmark with my pops sedan. The Amazon button thing is just a novelty for lazy folks with money. In New York we use Amazon for books, electronics, etc... Not for food and especially not for household goods we can find in a dollar store or Family Dollar for alot cheaper while avoiding shipping fees. It's moreso for folks in suburban and country/rural areas. We'll see what comes of it tho.

    • @retrokidbk83
      @retrokidbk83 9 лет назад

    Wow, they don't even say press to order? & how do you know if the price has increased? I stop ordering things that increase more than 25 cents in one fell swoop. Yep it means I haven't bought a lot of items in YEARS!

    When this first came out I remember thinking "what upper-middle class person needs Tide/Macaroni/Fiji so badly they need a plastic button for Amazon to misorder it?"

    THIS WILL MAKE THOSE COMPANIES EVEN BIGGER AND THE SMALL ONES THAT ARE GROWING WILL DISAPEAR. PRETTY MUCH WHEN YOU BUY THESE BUTTONS YOU ARE ACCEPTING TO BUY FROM THAT COMPANY FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, AND SMALL COMPANIES WILL BE AFFECTED. ALSO IS SO STUPID THAT THEY HAVE TO WAIST SO MANY FUEL OR RESORURCES TO DELIVER TO YOU THOSE PRODUCTS WHEN YOU CAN WALK TO THE NEAREST STORE.
