- Freddy gets an "ebay" lip for his IS300 and installs and paints it twice because it got messed up the first time. PRO TIP: install the lip prior to painting to make sure it will fit properly and not crack the paint.

Sweet paint booth. There is plastic adhesion prep products (as stated earlier) which ive used that work great to prevent chipping/lifting. You can spray or wipe it on. Also if your mixing your own clear to spray out of a gun, there are flex agents you can add to resist cracking on flexible parts. But it all costs $$
I used that gloss spray you recommended from another video. I painted my is300 tails (vht red on top 3/4, vht night for bottom 1/4) and I gotta say that shit is amazing. Kinda pricey but well worth it.

You know, adhesion promoter makes a huge difference when painting plastics. It likely would not have cracked in the first place.
The problem is that your supposed to use an adhesion promoter 1st. Anytime your working with poly urethane or abs plastic or frp body parts. Stuff, clean, adhesion promoter then you can do your primer/paint.

how many cans of paint did you use?
Does it have space underneath due to it being an is300 lip an not is200 lip?
I tried to touch up my car using duplicolor and 2 part clear and the clear peeled up shorty after. They say your not supposed to use an acrylic paint and 2 part clear because they aren't compatible. Your better off getting your own paint or going to a store like napa that will put it in an aerosol.

Yes and no. You still have a limited window from final cure to installation of flexible parts, BUT... Flex agents/plastic primer etc will give a much better chemical adhesion to the substrate. You paint film isn't separating between layers, it's the base substrate and fist coat that don't have the cohesion! :)
Always thought you should take your aero to a professional and get it painted but from the video, definitely going to save me money! Does anyone make the GGP color in a can like you got?

What's another good looking lip for the is300?
the first time you painted it did you use a scotch brite pad to scruff up the plastic then use an adhesive promoter and THEN the primer? or did you just use primer and the actual paint and clear coat
i never used adhesive promoter, just primer paint and clear and it ended up chipping
what fog lights are those and do u have a vid of them on? Mine are kinda faded i want more of a bold yellow like yours

There's a hundred reasons why this job won't last more than a week. First off you need some sort of flex/bonding agent when shooting bumpers. For rattle cans use Bulldog primer. Or just get a cheap compressor and sprayer and do the job right with the right products. If the job is done right that lip will NEVER peel. Don't feel bad though, a lot of professional body shops can't be bothered doing it right either. A properly done bumper/lip might scratch where it hits something, but should not easily crack, and should never peel.

Yeah don't put much money into the front lip unless its a show car. I paid for a good job on my front lip on my rabbit. Weeks later. The bottom was fucked up.

Should of use low grade sand paper and burgundy scuffs on that plastic lip.

Heres my tip...Install the lip and leave it on a few days unpainted..Then when youre ready to paint scuff it with 600 grip sand paper, then spray this stuff onto it before you spray anyprimer/paint amzn.to/3HuDGsh
