"Physical Graffiti" is my fave. It's a double album. The windows on the cover are cut out and the letters are on the sleeve of one of the albums. The other sleeve has pictures of people you can slide in behind the windows. Did you notice there's no chorus in this song? You have to understand you're taking the song out of context from the whole album. The structure and simplicity serve the pacing of the album. If you listen to the songs in order it makes more sense. Coming off of "In My Time Of Dying" and ramping up to "Trampled Under Foot" this fits perfectly.
Led Zep and Queen were both Mad Scientists of Musical experimentation. The sign of real musical genius.The sound on this track was designed to specifically be Simple , dry and driving , like a really really tight garage band rehearsing on a Sunday afternoon. A more simplistic approach to basic rock, rather than the more orchestrated sounds we hear in Stairway etc...Entirely done on purpose with multiple meaning both in Lyric , and presentation.And yes in the day ..this song was a hit.
Physical Graffiti was their 5th album & was made up of approximately half new compositions & half songs that hadn't made it onto their previous 4 albums. This was the title track of the previous album that hadn't made it onto 'Houses of the Holy'. It's a testament to how great their early albums were that a song like 'The Rover' didn't make it onto vinyl up till this point.
A lot of Zeppelin songs are deceptively simple. But even the simple sounding riffs are hard to get right because of their subtlety and deeeeep in the pocket timing as a band. Even the most accomplished shred bands and guitarists covering Zep don’t sound the same or as good.
I think it was JPG who was asked why they put this song on the Physical Graffiti album, and he said it was because they could. I think they had several songs already recorded that made this album.
Dazed & Confused from the live album The Song Remains the Same. The build up from slow to fast and the guitar solo is amazing. Warning ⚠️ its like 25 minutes long.
I think you should do it all from the beginning go back to finishing Zep 2 and proceed methodically.commit to two a week or two per video. Commit to just Zep.

Robert had surgery on his vocal cords sometime around here, nobody can pinpoint exactly when. He didn’t do as much of his yells after that.
