    Last month I was sent a 3d printer from ‪@geeetech3dprinting‬ that seemed to be a really accessible entry point printer for newcomers to the hobby. In that video I mainly focused on printing something simple and showing how easy it was to set up from unboxing to pressing print. As so many of you expressed interest in this printer, and in using it as a starting point, I wanted to show off more of what it could actually do, by pushing its limits a bit more, using beautiful Ork designs by ‪@mrmodulork9745‬! 3D printing is a whole other hobby to wargaming, and with high quality low cost printers like this one from Geeetech, you can try it out before really investing! Hope you enjoy this more in depth look at this printer! Let me know if you have any other questions!
    Let me know what you think and ask any questions as always!

    I’m learning a lot about printers from your printing videos, still not sure about getting one myself due to the lack of a sensible location for it in my house, but when I do finally take the plunge I will have a much better idea what I’m doing all thanks to you Andy.

    I bought this printer because of your other video and I absolutely love it, been printing some redmakers and stationforge models on it for my Krieg army, postage to Ireland wasn't bad either, loads of spare parts available from their website too, spare FEP sheets etc, been using their own standard grey resin too. Love your videos (especially Krieg ones ;) ) keep up the good work :)

      Yes for sure, it’s a great way to test to see if you’re even interested first-it’s a whole other hobby and a lot of people don’t enjoy the hassle of working things out if something goes wrong!

    Great results, can't really see any print lines from the screen either.
    Don't know if you follow Titan Forge but a good stress test would be a large model like the Scarlet Crusade Steam Galleon (or any vehicle prints in general).

    I'd still like to see a 3d printing video about the software side - that's what's stopping me the most as I know literally nothing about it.
    Presumably you need an application or program after you've bought and downloaded a file? Do you need to do anything in that program? How do you send the file to the printer? All those basic steps.

    • @MediocreHobbies
      @MediocreHobbies  Год назад +1

      It’s hard to do a general video as many printers use different software for slicing etc. there are channels that do a lot more in depth videos about that side of things for 3D printers though! Most printers will tell you which program works best for it-not all of them are designed the same, but you can search for videos on how to use that software then. Sending the file to the printer is usually with a usb though!

    Thank you very much for your review!! I am about to buy it and I have a question: what program are you using to prepare the files before printing? thanks for your time.

    • @MediocreHobbies

      Lychee is what I use but you have to put in the specifics for this printer manually. It’s not auto on there.

    Ressing a bit of an old video. But I was wondering did you use default settings that came with the printer? What about things like exposure time?

    • @dwarfy2k264
      @dwarfy2k264 4 месяца назад

      Exposure time is resin dependent, need to look up base settings for whatever resin you are using.

    • @MediocreHobbies
      @MediocreHobbies  4 месяца назад +1

      I did use base settings. But it probably could have been tweaked a little.

  • @hamham00100

    I've had a bit of a bad experience with this, the vat leaked during an early print and cooked the resin to the screen. It's been a month of slow back and forth with Geeetech for me thats kinda sapped all the enthusiasm I had for printing, and I'm still not back up and running. :-/

    Has anyone in the UK successfully received one of these? I ordered one a week ago, still havent had any updates from them despite emailing them twice, and the order status just says "paid". Thinking of just getting a refund at this point. I paid through Paypal so should be able to get the refund that way, but just curious if anyone has ordered one recently and how long they had to wait?
