Well the glasses didn’t last long , congratulations they look great and I’m pleased for you that they sold out. Would love to see a zombie glass or similar Educated Barfly tiki glasses!
Lucky enough to have had this in Kaanapali. Maybe I’m a little bit biased as it was during our honeymoon in maybe the most heavenly place on earth, but after just one sip it became my favorite cocktail ever. I can’t wait to try and recreate it back at home now!
Thank you! This channel has helped me become an more creative Bartender! I just came back from Hawaii.. and made up a cocktail while I was on vacation! And it was similar to this!! ❤️
I had it at their restaurant across from Disney’s Aulani resort in Hawaii. Best mai tai i have ever had i have recreated based in their recipe. I love it. Mai tais are my fave cocktail
Just got back from Maui last week, and the Monkeypod’s Mai Tai was indeed THE best drink anywhere on the island. Hauled back enough passionfruit syrup/purée and macadamia nuts to try this one at home. Thanks for the recipe….👍
I've had several scores of these in Maui. Your video is the most authentic of any I have seen. I've tried to recreate these myself and went so far as to order the exact honey they use (which is from the Ohi'a Lehua blossoms on the volcanic slopes of Hawaii -Big Island Bees company) compared to a different flavor in the states from clover blossoms. It's never the same ;) Anyway, these same Mai Tais are now also served at Maui Brewing Company restaurant (where at least you can walk in and get a seat).
So much good stuff going on in this drink. Thanks for sharing how to modify the Mai Tai with macadamia nuts and passion fruit. The Honey Liliko'i foam is the star of the show. More videos like this please.
For some strange reason, I love it when you use a bottle that I have. Probitas is a bottle I have and I haven't seen anybody use it before. Can't wait to make the Orgeat.
"What you're going to want to have is something that can FINE STRAIN really well. So a FINE STRAINER isn't really going to work for this" I understand, but this still cracked me up.
So my only comment would be having been to Monkeypod and watched them make these through the years they seemed to have changed the process. They used to pour all the ingredients, the orgeat, the lime and light rum in the glass first add the ice and the float of dark rum and foam. Maybe they changed recently…Great video thought !!!
That looks delicious, and this is coming from a guy who doesn't particularly like Tiki drinks. Then again, I've never tried one. I'll definately try a mai tai next time I'm out in a cocktail bar.
Wow that is a great looking cocktail. I was wondering for a sec why you didn't use pebble ice then that foam went on and looked amazing. Can't wait to get me those glasses!
Just returned to the mainland from visiting friends on Maui. We made them do the “tourist” things with us. One of those things was a trip to Monkeypod. They did not object at all. The MaiTai Monkeypod makes is as impressive to the locals as it is to the infrequent visitors.
The foam is more of a yellow color at the restaurant in Oahu. I wonder if they dye it? I purchased passion fruit puree from Hawaii which looked pretty orange, but when it came out of my dispenser it was very pale like in this video. It tasted correct but the color was not.
Hey nice cocktail with passion fruit foam and Macedonian nuts. Definitely going to try this once. A one question I’m really looking forward to ask u is- How many times that I can use that singel NO2 or CO2 cartridge in soda siphon. Like. you used that NO2 cartridge for making foam so can I use it for another time (if yes) than How many times?? Or no?? (I’ve to use another one another infusion) Really looking forward from hearing with you. Cheers 🥂
Not gonna lie, both your recipe notes listed say "Macadamia Nut Orgeat Foam" when you topped it with the passion fruit foam. Awesome drink tho thanks so much for sharing.
Any plans on restocking those glasses? Would love to get my hands on a set. Great recipe as well, as much as I love the classic, this one might be just a bit better.
New to the channel awesome videos. I saw the foam is good for 3 drinks but needs to be refrigerated for an hour. Do you need multiple foamers or how can you make extra foam to pour 6-8 drinks?
My Christmas Mai Tai Recipe -> Basically the original Trader Vic's but replace following ingredients: Triple Sec with Liquor 43 Sugar (sirup) with gingerbread sirup Lime/Mint garnish with cinnamon Tastes great, fresh and intense like a Mai Tai but with an interesting christmas like twist.
After having had quite a few Monkeypod mai tais from both Monkeypod locations in Maui, I decided to make them for my annual Xmas Eve celebration with friends and family. There were fantastic and - dare I say - significantly better than the original at Monkeypod. They use Old Lahaina rum (both light and dark) because it's local to them. However, those rums are nothing to write home about. I used Denizen's Merchant's Reserve 8, a rum formulated for mai tais, and a float of Plantation O.F.T.D., a rum formulated to deliver a boozy hit of rum deliciousness. The extra rum funkiness really played well with the lilikoi foam sweetness. A major hit.
Could you trade out the passion fruit puree for a different fruit, i.e. guava or pineapple, etc? As I type that, it seems like a dumb question, but asking anyhow.
I am a baker and I have a sixth sense about egg whites. It was tingling at 6:13 and then 6:15 happened and Leandro died noisily. I could have prevented this demise if I was there, just sayin'😏
Has anybody thought about putting a shot or two of vodka into the nut milk before the first time you blend it, to not only make it more shelf stable but also get all the alcahol soluble flavour compounds that the water might not be getting?
Fresh passionfruit is almost never available in my area (midwest USA), and with the rising cost of Liber & Co. Passionfruit syrup, do you have suggestions on where to get passionfruit puree for a decent price? I've heard of Funkin available on amazon, wasn't sure how long one of their packages might last. I see Passion Reàl a lot at stores locally, unsure if it's worth getting. Thanks!
We used frozen passion fruit by Pitaya Foods. It comes in bite sized pieces in a resealable bag. We found it at our local Wegmans store, but Whole Foods and Target also carry it. It's nothing but seedless passion fruit puree in small frozen cubes, nothing else added. It worked out perfectly in this recipe. So good!
Is this even a Mai Tai though? Don't get me wrong, this video was great as any of yours, and I'd LOVE to try this amazing drink, but is it still a Mai Tai? I can hardly see any loose connections.
This sounds epic!
i agree!
It’s delicious!!
I will watch any and every mai tai variation you ever post.
Can’t say it’s the first time I watched a blender on RUclips for more than a symbolic moment. “Will it blend?!”

Simply, wow 😯🤤😋! Love the shirt too 🙂
My dad works there and this is half the reason I go to visit him at work!
We love going to our Monkeypod here on Oahu, too. Can confirm these are delicious! 🍹
I had 2 last night at ko olina. Very tasty
Glasses look amazing! And they sold out quick! Awesome.
WoW! That was an Epic Tangent!!

We must tackle ALL the Mai Tais. Keep ‘em coming!
Make as many mai-tais as you want. They never get old.
I agree
Loved your anxious expressions while blending 😂😂
This looks like a good excuse to buy a whipper! - Cocktail looks great!

Just got my mai tai glasses in the mail! I love them. Very nice quality.
Sweet! Glad you like em!
It’s always a good time for a Mai Tai!!

Looks Amazing. Can’t wait for my glasses!
This looks great,, I love the glass, and the basic prep for this simple. its timmme for that vacation :)

😋 I can taste this through the screen. I’ll be making some of that macadamia orgeat for sure. That passion fruit foam also sounds delicious!
The best thing about this video….Buzz in the back! 😂😁 ….not sure if I have the tenacity to make this but it sure looks amazing!
So much good stuff going on in this drink. Thanks for sharing how to modify the Mai Tai with macadamia nuts and passion fruit. The Honey Liliko'i foam is the star of the show. More videos like this please.
Sounds great! I will have to try this
Hahahahaha!!! Yes!! I always make a dorky face while shaking a cocktail!! Lol! And I dance behind the bar!!
Best channel ever!!
Sounds fantastic. Love the Surfside sips straw too!
I love the Monkeypod Mai Tai and I've always wanted to know how to make them myself. Thanks!
Thanks for this.
2:54 the whole blending scene I was like "at some point he will edit this short .... no?.... no."
I get you guys needed to see the whole minute

Lots of places mess up a Mai Tai. So if it’s not amazing, try, try again….at a different place! 🤣
Dang. Those Mai tai galsses went fast! Im sad I missed out on them!!
they went very fast yes, we might have made a too limited run. But we might do more of these glasses in the future if you guys want them :)

Wow that is a great looking cocktail. I was wondering for a sec why you didn't use pebble ice then that foam went on and looked amazing.

Note to the people making the mac orgeat, be EXTREMELY careful with the orange flower water. Really potent stuff!
Lol…Dancing with myself, yes glad I’m not the only one who remembers the Mathew scandal.

You had me at "nut milk".
How many mai tai foam does that make. Having a party this Saturday and i want to be able to make many! Thanks
I have always wanted to make macadamia nut orgeat. Guess it's time.
Description says top with macadamia nut orgeat foam!
Which also sounds delicious btw haha
I need that T-shirt

This was a super limited drop. We’ll have more in the future but this glass is not coming back
Had this in person in maui first mai tai of the trip and ruin every other mai tai i had everywhere else.
What would you guys use for the base in this cocktail if you were trying to avoid rum?
New to the channel awesome videos. I saw the foam is good for 3 drinks but needs to be refrigerated for an hour. Do you need multiple foamers or how can you make extra foam to pour 6-8 drinks?
Perfect!!I've been wanting to make this!! #saludcita ❤️ 🥃 👊🏼
Whaaaat the glasses are sold out 😪
This is out of this world!
So if you dont have that fumy bottle you basically blend the stuff until it thickens and then put it in the fridge?
yes, you can whip it. Just try not to make it too thick. It's very easy to over whip it
A chinois won't filter nearly as much, I use that for some french sauces though.
Kosher salt is safe for passover?
Is he gonna drop the yol- yep, he dropped it.
In terms of what size Isi to buy- how many drinks approx would the 1Q vs 1 L vs 1/2 L make? Thanks!
1:13 Marius you devious bastard. Haha. "No"
What is the volume yield on the macadamia orgeat?
