Especially considering renault specifically forbid the interviewer to talk about verstappen or redbull. Hence why he seems to ignore verstappens presence.

At first I was like yeah, but now I am like nooo. It still works. I wouldn't buy a new one, even if the screen is cracked (I wouldn't even buy a new screenprotector, because (unless there are [missing glass-]dents,) it's unnecessary). Because it still works perfectly fine. Just don't buy into that overconsumerism. Lando doesn't (with this anyway) and I like that. The fact that he has a cracked screen(protector) also fits perfectly with his chaotic energy
@Damon Ford Because I can't afford a new screenprotector? It's like €10. And a new phone costs €200. I can afford that. And I wouldn't buy a new one if I were a multimillionaor either, because I don't need one.

Before the interview, that's the time period prior to the conversation between the interviewer, and the interviewee, the team press they are the people who manage the media on behalf of the team, specifically told him that he was not allowed to ask or talk about Max at all, meaning during the interview, the interviewer was not to mention Max Verstappen. If he would the interview would be done instantly, which means the interviewee would stop talking to the interviewer.
That's why he is silent, as he he didn't speak during the proceedings. And why he said that last line, just as the video clip finishes.

@@Dyils That was right after Ricciardo left Red Bull and went to Renault, a move that he made mainly because the RB team obviously favored Max over him and that frustrated him (watch season 1 of Drive to Survive on Netflix for the whole backstory). I'm sure most interviews that Daniel had at this time were mainly focused on Max and Red Bull rather than Daniel and Renault, so his team just wanted to make sure the interviewer did not bring up that topic.
