Tezu | 31 Jul 2024: The All Assam Gorkha Student Union (Tinsukia district and Sadiya) along with the All Arunachal Pradesh Gorkha Youth Welfare Association met with OC Sunpura to seek updates on the kidnapping case of Rohit Bdr. Chetry. They expressed gratitude for the police's efforts but conveyed the public's dissatisfaction with the progress, as it has been more than eight days since the incident and over two days since the arrests, yet the child's whereabouts remain unknown.
Due to continuous public pressure, the unions have given an ultimatum to the Lohit SP through OC Sunpura: if the police fail to rescue Shri Rohit Bdr. Chetry within the next 24 hours, they will launch a democratic movement and may announce a blockade:
