A 50-cal machine gun fires 12.7mm rounds. Bolters would be firing 19.05mm which is basically a small autocannon. Weird it lacks a stock, I've seen art and models of bolters with stocks. Maybe there's an option for one. ... Logically if bolter rounds are self-propelled as some lore suggests that should lessen recoil.
Bolters are often portrayed as two stage with casing. Their lack of stocks is because they're wielded mostly by power armored units and people with some form of enhanced, abnormal, or conditioned strength. "Normal" humans would likely use them similarly to the video. Single shot in most situations with full auto being a lost resort.
What the other guy said, also: Space Marines have integrated targeting systems in their helmets, that work similar to the ''Smartgun'' from Aliens. it just looks so comically large in the normal human's hands XD.
The bolt gun should’ve had a really beefy stock to show how much would support would be needed for a regular human to use it.
mortal-sized bolters pattern exists. and even if it's smaller than Astartes Bolter it's still considered a heavy weapon by human standard.
I just hit level 14 and first store reroll ther was a green locke mk IIb spearhead bolter and it's the most bad ass thing I've ever used in a fps. Everyone complaining about the game just must not have one left. My response to whiny threads from now on is going to be "b-b-b-bolter."
my only problem with the gun is the re-cocking every time it comes out, it adds like 2 secs of sometimes needed time.
Yah some of the recocking animations really bug me.
I think its a balancing thing, more damage but takes longer to reload and ready than like the las pistol, def looks kinda stupid tho.
What trust level did you get that at?
Because I'm getting tired of las and autoguns and I REALLY want a bolter
Probably 20 .
I am in 18 . Just have a shotgun and power sword.
Boltgun iirc is lvl 23
About 20.
Until you get the bolter, the shotgun is like a poor man's bolter
Hits like a truck and if you crouch+ads you can snipe with it too
@@commerade1 Shotgun is very good for sure. Wish the special ammo was a manstopper round instead of one shot with horizontal spread but w/e.
Precision Fire!
*BAMBAMBAMBAMBAMBAMBAM*
good thing it does not sound like falling glass shards like in the horus heresy trailer, that was atrocious
Now that, kids, is a Boltgun.
well this game makes the bolter into s7 ap-2d2 at the least. otherwise ogryn wouldn't go down
I love the bayonett. Does more damgae than my melee weapon
A bolter is a 75 cal. Meaning its around the size of a can of monster energy.
Those are the Astartes ones. The guard-portable bolters are .60, which is still bloody massive
@@samswann180 a burst fire 60. Cal still gonna shread.
@@samswann180 Both are .75 caliber. The difference is Astartes bolt rounds are much higher quality with far more powerful propellants and explosive payloads.
Wow. Normal guardsmen using bolt gun.. that is so realistic
Bolters used by normal humans are rather scaled down compared to what the Space Marines use. Compare this to the bolters used in "Astartes", for example.
you think you know your bolter, until you try heresy difficulty
2:25 "YOU'RE HITTING ARMOUR!" to be honest lady, I don't think it matters considering he's firing .75cal of pain
Might have to try Guardsman after watching this.
I'm lore confused right now, from what I read and heard humans aren't supposed to be able to fire the bolter. Somesay it's a watered down version with a lower caliber (75 to 50), some same it's the same caliber but with less impact. Definitely need an update on this
