    Nice work. Rotek looks real. I am in sheet metal assembly on the actual K Max program. 👍🏻

      Almost --- The actual KMAX uses servo driven trim tabs on the blades. These models have swash plates. As such, the large KMAX doesn't have the control response of a helicopter with a swash plate (I'm sure these models best the full versions performance). They're basically the simplicity of the old JEEPs. Nothing exotic, just good old fashioned simplicity -- no hydraulics in it either. While I don't have access to the exact figures, I'd bet the KMAX is probably the cheapest helicopter in the world to operate requiring the least amount of cost and maintenance per flight hour. Piston driven helis might be cheaper on fuel, but nothing can touch the hot/heavy/weight loads that the KMAX can do for the $.

    These models are awesome. But I suppose they can't rotate in stationary as a rc common helicopter. Am I right?

      Thats what I was thinking too because if you slow down one set of rotors its would strike the other one, but then it came to my mind that one swashplate tilts forward and one swashplate tilts back, making the body rotate. That is a genius idea

    Are these models using any kind of stabilization help like a 3 axis gyro system?

    A+ to the builders! Anyone know where to find their build write up for these machines? Curious how they went about the transmission. I see they used traditional rotor heads with swash plates over the KMAX design of fixed blades with trim tabs, which I'd assume would be quite challenging at this scale.

    Where are the flaperons? The K-Max uses flaperons as control surfaces on the rotor blades. Am I just missing them?

      Adam Churvis there actually tracking tabs

    • @mhamma6560
      @mhamma6560 6 лет назад

      KMAX uses trim tabs on a fixed hollow wooden blade. I believe the trim tabs warp the blade in order to get a control input to register as a movement. The KMAX does not have a swash plate. From a model perspective, it would be pretty difficult to duplicate that type of control system, so the builders chose to incorporate traditional rotor control by means of a swash plate. KMAX is a very simple helicopter with no hydraulics and is very economical to operate for the capabilities that is has. It's not capable of putting on an aerobatic performance, but it wasn't built to. It's a very simple aerial pickup truck.

      @M Hamma a K-Max hs a swashplate per rotor. Links from the upper swashplates operate the tabs, which cause the blades to change pitch. The blades do not warp - they rotate on bearings like any other helicopter.
