Taylor Swift is a genuine surprise to most people who are introduced to her these days. She's quit witty. You should react to the video to "You need to calm down", it's by far her best video. It's witty like this one.

Also, there's always a ton of easter eggs/references scattered throughout her videos, way more than you realize. The wikipedia page for "Look What You Made Me Do" has a section for the video called "Analysis" that's four paragraphs long lol

i think it's possible to enjoy a pop song and appreciate one with a message to think about while also knowing and understanding that there are many inequalities and injustices in the world, just because i found some truth in this obviously satirical song and video doesn't mean it's the only problem worth talking and singing about, i had no idea people hated her this much i'm just picking random pop stars lol

@@SuperJersh I hope these kinds of comments don't dissuade you from discussing songs and artists that touch on serious issues. I appreciate your take on this because you clearly understand the meaning and the obstacles present for women today. The fact that there is backlash to you, a relatively small youtuber (not trying to be shady), discussing and agreeing with Taylor's point is what makes it clear that there NEEDS to be more discussion of these issues. Not that you need to dive into them, you're not a social justice youtuber, but please don't shy away from them - no good comes from avoiding these topics imo.

I highly recommend watching Taylor’s “You Need To Calm Down” music video if you want another entertaining one. “Look What You Made Me Do” and “Delicate” are also awesome visuals. She puts a lot of effort into her videos, and once you become more acquainted with the stories she tells in her music, you’ll notice all the easter eggs she puts in her videos.

This song was amazing when it first came out, and it still is. I especially love her reference to Leo DiCaprio, because he's famous for being a bachelor, dating around, etc, but no one ever calls him out for it (because it's his own life. Like, as long as there isn't assault/harming involved, he can do what he wants). But when Taylor dates a reasonable amount, the entire media acts like being Taylor Swift is the 8th Deadly Sin.
you should react to her song/video blank space. it’s all about how the media kept criticizing her and saying that she was dating so many men and writing songs about them when in reality that’s not true. so she took that narrative and made a joke about if she truly was that person. it’s one of her biggest hits and has a really entertaining video!

I see this is 4 years ago, but if you haven't seen it, her video for 'I'll bet you think about me' is funny too. All her videos are amazing expensive first-rate videos & many have humor in them. 'Blank space' has her leaning into her reputation the media put on her & I find it funny too. Her lyrics & videos are very clever.
Another to react to is Our Song. She played this at her 9th grade talent contest and won, of course. It became her first #1 song on the Country charts.

I would suggest her acoustic versions of songs. 1. Cornelia St and Death by a thousand Cuts live from Paris; 2. Lover live from SNL; 3. Betty Live from the ACM awards 2020; This is from her latest album and there are a lot of reaction videos on this one, its her first song she has played live off her new album; 4. Live from REPUTATION tour Babe, I know places, This love, treacherous, haunted, all too well; 5. Better Man live at the Bluebird. One of my favorites is Call it What you Want live from SNL. It is a love song (that doesn't sound like a love song) to her boyfriend who was sitting in the audience, she smiles at him the entire time.
Since you also reacted to Katy Perry recently, you should watch "Bad Blood" --> "Look What You Made Me Do" --> "You Need To Calm Down" in that order for the full arc of their relationship

If you liked this song, you would probably enjoy "Boys Will Be Boys" by Dua Lipa. I know you haven't really enjoyed some of her singles, but I do agree that New Rules feels a bit more manufactured and she's probably my favourite artist currently. Her "deep cuts" and album tracks are higher quality in my opinion while her singles go for more mass appeal. That being said both of her albums are some of my favourites.
Side note: I'd really like to see some Adele and Halsey reactions as well

Bold review in the midst of Tool fans! Hint: Google "Tool vs. Taylor Swift". LOL. Does Taylor Swift not resemble Tom Cruise here? Painting all men with the brush of men that ALL men and women hate. That's one of my issues with Taylor. She's a bit agenda driven and preachy. Yes, it's satire, and she's exaggerating every possible misogynistic stereotype (old and new) to make a point, so whatever. It's pop music. It's for "some". (Men don't have blue pee). ;)
I don’t think she’s saying ALL men. A man in her position. The double standard with which the public, press, and entertainment industry receive men and women. In my opinion, this double standard hurts everyone-men and women, in different ways. I think women who are very successful run into barriers in the entertainment industry of which most of us are not aware, and Taylor complains about it publicly. I’m sure she’s got a lot of enemies, particularly the men who refuse to give her control of her own material.

A bit late to comment, but honestly while I understand why stereotyping isn’t the way to send a message, you have to know Taylor to understand her. This song, and more importantly it’s message, it’s meant for men like Scooter Braun(the owner of her six previous albums) who think that they can “own” Taylor Swift just because they own her music. In fact when you watch the video you can see in the scene where the man is peeing on the wall that there’s a sign that says “No Scooters.” She’s basically targeting all of the men in her life who have tried to slow her down because she was growing too big for their comfort level. Whether we realize it or not, there is a huge double standard in the industry and I believe she called it out in a mature way. Instead of supporting Taylor who spoke out about Artists being able to own their music, they specifically call her a liar and say that “Scooter’s always been nice to them.” And like Taylor said. “Of course he’s nice to you. If you’re in this room you have something he needs.” It’s very clear, I think, what men Taylor is speaking out against. And in my opinion at least, she is definitely not targeting all men.

LuckykidA She has had many women who have stood against her. Most notably Kim Kardashian. But to be honest, most of her sixth album, Reputation, was about Kanye West and Kim Kardashian who basically illegally recorded a phone call between her and Kanye and edited it to make her look like a bad person. She’s already spoken her peace about the incident and chooses not to do so anymore.
