Arcade Creek Cleanup @ Norwood Ave. 35.0, 9/14/24

On Saturday, Arcade Crk Cleanup @ Norwood (35.0) turned out to be a mop-up of the same small stretch of creek addressed on Wednesday with volunteers and American River Flood Control District and their equipment. We’ve learned from lots of experience that while the equipment is fantastic, it is impossible to reach “RCWA Clean” status without hard working volunteers. And so it went, roughly 5,000 lbs more trash and debris was removed by hand in the exact same stretch, and yet there is still so much more there.
The highlight of our day started when 3 hardworking @_theclatch students arrived, and even brought their own shovel! They jumped right in and had a huge impact.
Thank you everyone for staying the course on this project. The progress is remarkable! Also, thank you @forensiclean for continuing to partner with us and @elkgrove_anti_trash volunteers for always contributing a team of amazing badgers. What a force we are together! 💪💚
