Wow, you're quick. Yeah that's a mix, we will have different types of dragons in the game :D This one will be good at using tools (if they are ever in the game). Thanks!
this is only a tiny idea for some extra immersion and feel free to disregard this, but what if the head of the dragon would always remain horizontal regardless of the position of the body in flight, like with real-life birds?
I've actually already thought about this, and you're right, I should add it in the future 😄 Now I sadly have a thesis to write and no time at all for the game project. But in a month I'll go back to it, I already started working on a cool new system. Thanks for the advice, I always appreciate it.
Yeah it took me like 3 years to learn that XD But it's not that hard (like the 3 year journey) if someone already knows Unreal Engine. I've written my own custom CharacterMovementComponent, and basically I researched how gliding actually works in physics, (e.g. the lift equation), and I calculated the necessary lift for moving in the direction the dragon wants to fly (and it is defined by the input), and the maximum lift it can generate at the moment. Then I took the minimum of these values. And that's the core concept. I will be able to help people with such things in the near future, because I'm planning to make a discord server for the game and I will gladly help with what I already learned for my game too, so you can follow me if you wish. For now I can point you to some tutorials if you need help with setting up custom CMC or things like that.
@@katamarang_art Find delgoodie on youtube and join his discord server. He teaches a lot about CMC and I think it is the only place with so much knowledge about it. I don't know how familiar you are with the engine and if you want your game to be multiplayer. It will be much easier without multiplayer but I guess you know that? For the physics just google lift equations and find resources on how to use DeltaTime to make movement framerate independent (that will be useful in the Phys function where you will program the movement for the dragon). And one more thing - keep in mind that Epic is right now working on a new solution which will probably replace CMC soon - Mover. I think knowing CMC will still be useful, but you need to keep in mind how much time you want to spend on that, and maybe it would be better to start with something different than the movement, and then when they release Mover (they are developing it now) you can just use that. It will probably be easier too.
The game isn't out yet, the name will be officially announced in the near future. So you probably are confusing it with some other game, like Wings of Dawn maybe?
Simply amazing, the flight and the movement!
@CraneGuide-kv6bf Thank you! ❤️
I love how it’s a mix of a wyvern and a dragon? Really creative! Great mechanics btw!

@ that’s such an interesting idea! :D
Auuuugh baby
Also mm those sweet sweet maneuvers at 1:15
Damn, not disappointed.
Looks great, especially with the camera panning and when it kind of adjusts itself...
Work of art :)
Omg the animation is incredible
Thank you! :) I did my best.

@@DragondaleDev good luck on your thesis!!
Thank you! ❤️✨
that's so cool, I already vibe with it, kind of reminds me of spyro flight parts
Thanks 😄 Yeah I think it's similar when you just glide from one rock to another rock
Awesome! :D
Awesooooooooooome
This looks great!
How did you make the flight, might I ask? I wanna make my own dragon game and the flight is the part I'm struggling on the most

@@DragondaleDev that would be helpful, thanks!

Game name? I have in mind but I might be confusing it with another dragon game

what game is this?
@@sapphire8606 This is my dream game project, I will announce the name soon :D
