I found this through Caseys videos. Subbed here, as I didn't know you had a channel. I watched the video on his channel when you had just taken that grader in and started pulling it apart to look things over. I guess it was just pulled in, you ran a bunch of safety things by removing some gears and such. I then saw this video, subbed to here (I like watching old machines like this being restored) and saw that THIS video isn't showing in your Videos list? Tiz unfortunate. Hope it shows up!
Hi Quinten, Your buddie Casey gave me a lift to your workshop with your truck, The Peterbilt 359. I'd love to see you bring this beast back to life, so I've subscribed to your channel to watch the re-build. I'm sure once completed, it will bring you many years of pleasure. 🖖
That's in amazing condition. I can't believe they would think about scrapping that. What's missing in the dash is the Tachograph. It has 1 but I guess needs another. A lot of potential right there and I'm sticking around for it!
In my mind it is sad they consider a 1984 a classic, that is the year I picked up my second college degree and left Ohio for the west coast. Damn I’m getting old and thanks to you and Casey for sharing your videos.
Mongo only pawn in game of life. I just finished 13 yrs of college time myself which included OTR and Alaska bush driving. Good times. I look forward to this series. See retired, Feel retired. Be, be, be retired.
Congratulations on picking up a good project truck. Yep, I'd be curious to know why it was put out of service. At least it's all there well at least 98%.
Here from Casey,s channel watched the road trip to get this truck and save it from being scrapped, since the radiator has mouse droppings in it with what ever else is down in there, you want a good cooling system for it when you do get it started,I would pull it and take it to a radiator shop to have it cleaned out and pressure tested, hopeing the engine isnt stuck!
Those are good trucks, I have worked on them for many years, get the steering box rebuilt is my first suggestions, check all the frame and crossmember bolts.
Looks like a Cummins 350 hp big cam sweet sounding engine. Came over from Casey’s channel. My ideal is coffin sleeper with a flat bed parts truck. Sweet looking truck keep up the good work and stay safe out there.
I'm a Casey fan and a Peterbilt/heavy haul fan. Looking forward to checking out your other vids and to watch this build it will make a great daily workhorse twin stacks
UGH .... Hendrickson Walking Beam suspension. Makes my kidneys hurt just looking at it. Rode those in the early 1970's in northern Nevada mine hauling. Flashing WAY back.
Lovely liking truck, we get nothing like that here in the UK. Was thinking they changed operating process and didn’t have a job for it to move into so became a backup, then scavenged parts from it…. But the radiator cap off doesn’t look good, especially if a rodent has nested in there
Another from casey's channel, noticed a rear brake chamber missing, passenger side for you. Let's hope nothing serious and you get it running and driving. Looking forward to the videos, now subscribed. Regards from UK
My first thought is thinking how almost 40 years ago somebody was assigned that truck and how proud he was to get it and now 38 years later it was in the scrap heap. So sad. Glad to see you are going to give it a new life. Even if it needs a new engine, a Cat swap could be in the works. I'll bet it's not in very bad shape, possibly retired due to age and another new truck being bought. Can hardly wait to see the progress!
Well !! What a find !! 🙃🙂😉 That ""CLOCK "" is an ""OL"" Tach-o-graph "" which is the "OL" version of todays ""E - Logs "" as it has a paper disc inside that had to changed very 24 hrs . to record truck speed , stops , & hrs. of idle time !! Hope ALL is well with the ""MICE""" infestation !! Waiting to see you guys tear into this 1 !! HAHA 😛🤔🤔👍👍👍👍👍
I've seen you with Casey a couple of times and I just finished watching the vid where you went to get the truck. So here I am, I've subscribed and looking forward to this rig getting some love.
Casey sent me! My 7 year old grandson & I love Casey and 406 Garage! Casey has some great friends! My SIL has an older Pete, so Tryten is into anything Semi! Can’t wait to introduce him to your channel! 😊 he comes to my house after school!
I feel like Diesel Creek could lend a solid hand to your channel. Great guy, great idea and I think Matt would enjoy it. He loves the old oily iron like you do. BTW that's a standard reman big cam Cummins.
if it was me(I'm not rich so I get money doesn't grow on trees), but I would put a sleeper on it, put a mechanics bed, air compressor, welder, and every tool you could ever need. paint the frame after sandblasting it. Basically do a full restoration on the truck and use it.
It was a liability for a mine to have it sitting there, really. MSHA could write one fine for more than the value of the truck. No need to make it easy for them. Good find!
Saw the adventure to go get over on caseys channel and was really excited to see you had a channel as well! I drive truck and it always hurts to see these ol' girls rotting away somewhere. LOVED that interior! I was stunned at how clean that engine looked! Even the hoses didnt look too bad. Saw some odd things here and there, but I'm excited to see you dive into her. I look forward to your content
you are a mechanic. take that truck and put a box on the back for tools and so you can work inside. that truck would be perfect for mobile mechanic stuff.
And its a cummins, I can't wait to see you get this old girl up and going again. With the walking beam rear suspension I wonder what it was in its original configuration. This truck is super awsome!!!
I seen Casey's video on this and it was an interesting video I loved the commentary. I have a question what is an EGT gauge? I don't know a lot about semi's is why I am asking
Fix n resale ?? Personal truck ?? Oooh, a custom camper / living quarters.... Like a tiny house or whatever it is that they call those houses that have become so popular that are small people turning shipping containers into little houses that sort of thing except this one would be on Wheels and you can go traveling that'd be cool so when you're at work you just go right out to your house for lunch that would be awesome !!!
I have a friend that has one of these old beautiful 359's has a 3406 cat industrial engine in it. He has driven it for many years. I helped him install a hydraulic kit onto it.
Casey send me here 😅 quick glance at the previous videos tell me I made the right decision 😂
Thanks! I really appreciate it
Same here. Been waiting to see if you were gonna launch a channel Quinton. Glad to see that you did. I smash that subscribe button
Same
Here from Casey, following the truck :) i have hit the notification, nice channel !
I just saw the adventure you and Casey went on and retrieved the Peterbilt. Awesome.
Come on, RUclips, this man needs more subs!
I'm #617

Flippin' AWESOME!!!! I love those Peterbilt tractors!!! It would be so amazing having one built into a motorhome.

Hay yeah, 1984 is not old 🤣.Casey also sent me ✌, looking forward to the rebuild.
More like vintage like a fine wine 🤔yes I thought the same thing, I was just a junior high school in 84'😐
@@wynottgivemore9274 I was 22 , yah 🤣🤣🤣vintage sounds much better.
At my age the peterbuilt would have to be from the thirties to be old. Kids!
Congratulations on picking up a good project truck.

Super cool truck. Looking forward to seeing you build it.
Interesting. Looking forward to seeing it fired up, after a lot of work.

That location of Eagle-Picher makes diatomaceous earth
How bout making these multi part videos into playlist so we can watch the whole project . I want to see the whole project
I almost hope the engine is the issue so you can CAT swap it and stay on brand, ya know?
I can't believe how good shape the hood and such are in, better than mine!
I dont know, but like to see it running again. And who is better to make it real than you.
I'm excited to see the progress on this eagerly waiting for the next video lol
I think the corvette dash was older than this one and had a mirrored hump on the passenger side.
Hendrickson walking beam arse end bushing can be a pain
Casey sent me also !
Hell ya man !! That old truck is amazing. I hope you stick with uploading the awsome stuff you do !!
And its a cummins, I can't wait to see you get this old girl up and going again. With the walking beam rear suspension I wonder what it was in its original configuration. This truck is super awsome!!!

I have a question what is an EGT gauge? I don't know a lot about semi's is why I am asking
It is Exhaust Gas Temperature, very critical to keeping your engine alive. Especially when going up hills or towing heavy loads.
nice pickup i am happy to take it off your hands
That looks like an old Hooker Creek Truck
I thought snowrunner was just a game
Hello from Casey's.
What a bloody rippa deal SWEET AS F

Casey got me here ! Can't wait to see what you do with this classic 359 !!
AH, the elephant in the room ! Just what is that giant engine???
thats a 3508 caterpillar engine out of a 992G!
I am saying it's probably a engine issue and at the time they couldn't justify fixing it.
we will see
Looking forward to the next part.
Casey
R u going to do a pressure wash n buff/polish. ???
