    Brutish power those Mustangs had. Love this video. No talking at all, all smokin the meats and strokin the gears. That's what I am talking about.

    Thank you for actually DRIVING it. I hate when people have a "performance" car of any kind and they never break a quarter throttle...

    Saw one same color next to Mustang Country in SoCal getting new decals done on it. I have a 69 Fastback gonna do a frame off restore. Was my dads so it’s special for that, but I’ve always been a mustang guy as me and dad did a few together and I had a 65 coupe for several years before selling it for “reasons”. Now I can finish dads but the 68 CA Special is my dream mustang. Oh and my names RYAN too. Shout out to all Ryan Mustang owners.

    Miss my GT/CS. shouldn’t have sold her but she’s well cared for and the new owner promised to contact me if he wants to sell. Great car and nicely restored! Like that color too. Mine was factory lime gold but I resprayed her royal maroon, another factory 68 color.

    awesome power..check and see if its a r code 2nd digit on vin designates assembly plant it should read 8 for 68 then r for sanjose then the fifth digit will tell you either r for 428 s.for 390 4v or j code 302 4v or x code for 2bbl 390 0r t code straight 6 or c.code 289 2bbl
    they only made gt cs at sanjose from January ..till july at this plant only

    I commend you for making a great visual and auditory video. Too many people make crappy videos with sub-par recording equipment. Which engine do you have on the CS?

    also aftermarket trunk doesn't fit right with endcaps

    • @MrCrankrod
      @MrCrankrod 4 года назад +2

      The deck lid (trunk lid) didnt fit on any of them from the factory. Was a very common problem. I have a bone stock 68 gt500kr. They all look like crap. Lol

    • @SPCLPONY
      @SPCLPONY Год назад

      My 68' GT/CS has a slight bow in the trunk lid. I'm told by Paul Newett, it's due to 50 plus years of the spring tension that helps lift the hand laid fiberglass trunk lid when you unlock it. I also heard that judges actually look for that bow at concourse shows.... because it is correct. The fiberglass lid is so light, mine will 'pop up' and hit my chin unless I keep my hand on the lid when opening it.
      All GT/CS's are coupes, and no Shelby coupes were made. So the GT/CS trunk lids were each hand laid to go on the 4100 cars from the San Jose assembly plant. Original's will have a 'rough' texture on the underside, versus a smooth finish on the aftermarket version that came out years later.
