How the heck does he switch styles like that? But one of my favorite videos is "Derek Takes Requests!" It's just so incredible to see how he switches to different styles and songs so quickly. He's just absolutely incredible.
This should have more views... I saw a video of guy playing piano at the airport and doing easy shit like he was improvising wich was really bad and got like milions of views
It really is hard to play favorites with music. I haven't played piano in a while, but even when I was doing it all the time, I couldn't tell you what the best one to play was. They're all so wonderful!
That would actually be in the style of Bach if anyone reading this actually cares enough to know. Mozart's music was primarily homophonic and this was polyphonic: "Polyphony - In music, polyphony is a texture consisting of two or more simultaneous lines of independent melody, as opposed to music with just one voice, (monophony). Music with one dominant melodic voice accompanied by chords is called (homophony)."
Loved when he Jazzed it up! It would be great to see the Ragtime version of "Ain't no sunshine" that was on 60 minutes. It sounded great, but we only got to see a small portion of it. Just a thought.
@@zenolord2242 I wouldn't say it's mistakes or correcting the original is his arrangement. A peice of music doesn't have to be played exactly the same way, I wouldn't say the original being changed is correcting it either.
He's way better than a computer. We're just starting to get computers to be able to beat the first level of Mario. There's no way a computer could generate anything this precise and this moving. So awesome.
Hey Derek, would you play your amazing version of Paganini´s Caprice 24? It is featured on the Extraordinary People - The Musical Genius episode, I just love it but everybody start talking... You always make my day when I see you play!
Great job! Have you ever heard any video game music that you like? I would love to hear you play some Mario or Zelda songs in different styles! Plus it would be pure RUclips magic :)
I don't really have a favourite, I like jazz music and pop music and can't choose one that I like best!
Mozart and Beethoven would be Derek's biggest fans
Absolutely
Beethoven just couldn't hear him👂🏼🚫😅
A true musical genius, bless you Derek

That's a bit harsh, I watched the video and he did well. It's not about how hard it is, It's about how it sounds. But I do agree Derek did do better.
Absolute genius
you're my hero Derek
Derek thank you so much for sharing your music!! I'd love, love, love to hear more classical pieces from you!!!
Like a fine wine, this rendition just kept getting better and better! Love your works Derek! Truly amazing and inspirational.

1:25 how he slowed it down and then sped it up into a dope jazzy sounding piece was sick
It really is hard to play favorites with music.

Nice comment, thanks for making me learn something :) But actually, I dont really care, the job this guy's doing is too incredible :D Thanks again
I agree, He is awesome. I love watching him!
I dont think Mozart's music cared too much for sexual preference.
Absolutely impressive and inspiring!

Very well done Derek!!! I aboslutely love the way you play! Do you compose your own pieces? If so please post them, would be lovely to hear them! :)
Derek needs a prompt of 3 or 4 notes and composes an original piece!

Loved when he Jazzed it up!

Impressive. Can you play Beethoven's Moonlight Sonada? I would LOVE to see that.
I would like that too. But I am especially curious what he makes from the third part of that sonata. Somehow he seems to get the feeling right
Dirk Hoekstra You know what? You have a good point. Creativity is Derek's thing, so I wouldn't be surprised if he comes up with any alterations.
Sonata
So fantastic! Amazing! Thanks so much for this!
Truly great playing
Brilliant. Bravo Derek!!!
It's fascinating how he makes mistakes when plays slow, but absolutely perfect when plays fast.
That's every piano player lol, except beginners and gods.
they are not mistakes.. they are corrections on the original song.
@@fredbsb I think we have a jazz pianist here.
Not that there's anything wrong with that, I love jazz and jazz piano!
@@zenolord2242 I wouldn't say it's mistakes or correcting the original is his arrangement. A peice of music doesn't have to be played exactly the same way, I wouldn't say the original being changed is correcting it either.
I am loving this version.... congrats
It's more than fantastic!
Truly unbelievable. love it.
I love the jazzy part. You're always great!

Requesting La Campanella in the style of Liszt. I also think a ragtime La Campanella would sound awesome.
Breathtaking, that's all I have to say ^_^
He's way better than a computer.
We're just starting to get computers to be able to beat the first level of Mario.
There's no way a computer could generate anything this precise and this moving.
So awesome.
Yet.
No we have developed computers that beat world record gamers on video games and board games :0
WOW
well said!
Hey Derek, would you play your amazing version of Paganini´s Caprice 24? It is featured on the Extraordinary People - The Musical Genius episode, I just love it but everybody start talking... You always make my day when I see you play!
