Cafe: Workforce Development Consultation, UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (Nov 9, 2023)

Hear ideas on the needs & gaps in the workforce to better support professional land restoration and stewardship. The UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration is a global and multi-agency initiative to scale up ecosystem restoration by 2030. The Youth Task Force is comprised of 25 young professionals representing diverse stakeholder groups and institutions to advance the next generation’s role in ecosystem management & nature-based-solutions. As part of the Youth Restoration Challenge, the Task Force is developing a curriculum for Green Jobs training to be launched in 2024. During this Chicago Wilderness Cafe, attendees will participate in our Chicagoland consultation on the Green Jobs Program to identify needs & gaps in training for students and young professionals to enter this exciting field. The outcomes of this consultation will feed into our global curriculum! Sarah Voska, Bluestem Ecologist Services will introduce the topic and facilitate the conversation as we interpret local knowledge to scale globally.
