This is absolutely the best debut I've ever seen, it's so well orchestrated. I love how much detail and thought was put into the storylines. Like how in Shhh! when Belle and Natty are picking through Julie's clothes, Belle picks out a ballerina tutu because she does miss her parents, or when they stop at the gas station Natty doesn't actually go in because she's still traumatised by the old man agressing her in the convenience store. Masterclass in storytelling! Bonus fact: the Play Love Games melody is an interpellation of the Take Me Out to the Ball Game song!

To explain Countdown MV a bit more: Belle's character didn't live her own life, she lived her mother's ambition. Look at the dinner table; it's full of delicious food, but Belle only gets half a plate of salad. Her mother happily gives her the letter of acceptance to a ballet school, but that's not what she herself wants. She is used to doing what her mother tells her, so even if she is good at ballet, she is heartbroken that she will have to do it for the next several years as well, and maybe even have to become a professional ballerina, when her heart is actually in pop. She secretly learns k-pop dance from Haneul's character, the influencer, and she secretly eats chocolate that she has put away under her bed. Her mother invades her privacy by unlocking her door using the spare key, and finally sees it all: the candy, when she was trying so hard to control her daughter's weight, the frivolous k-pop dance, when she should be focusing on proper dancing, the ballet... and in profound disappointment, tries to take it all away.
As some people already said, the real Belle is quite different. She grew up in a supporting family, her father a famous Korean singer, and she used to work as a songwriter for SM. He has a phenomenal voice, but as far as I know, she did not have much experience with any kind of dance before becoming an idol trainee at S2. She had to work _very_ hard to catch up to, say, Natty.
"The second scene!" is actually the third one. Originally they were all supposed to have one (with Haneul's "I'm coming" completing the set). Natty was supposed to have her own screaming scene, basically with "I didn't steal anything, I'm not a thief" but apparently is incapable of speaking without being too cute for words, so the scene was modified to just physical acting.
Of course Haneul was never actually an influencer. If she had been one, I'm sure someone would have dug it up by now. Nothing really disappears on Internet.
The only real-ish story, as far as I know, is Natty's: her character being homeless parallels Natty bouncing around the different entertainment agencies in the last twelve or so years. We've seen her on Sixteen when she was too young to be included in Twice even though she was choreographing her own dances, she popped up on Idol School where she failed to secure a spot in fromis_9, she had a solo debut in 2020 under Swing Entertainment that didn't generate longevity, before finally finding her home in S2 and Kiss Of Life.
After the accident, in Shhh, I wouldn't say they "live together" yet, but it seems Julie felt bad about hitting Natty with her car and took her home at least till she can recover. She also seems to have picked up Belle, currently also homeless as of the previous night. Natty even tries to sneak out in the morning while Julie is out for groceries, but Julie would have none of that and shoos her back inside. And Haneul's character is not with them yet; they didn't even know each other before the trio rescued her from her bathroom boy predicament. It may well end up with the four of them actually living together, but it is not really shown.
In Korean, "Shhh" does translate to 쉿 ("swit"). It is also used as a pun, as is a common practice in K-pop, to avoid censors in a fun way. Of course they know it sounds like "shit" :)

Thank you for explaining, Nattys story being real makes sense, bad that they didn’t include the scream, and does that mean that Belle is a nepo baby😂 also I think belles story is so relatable

@@Ahsoka Maybe it opened some doors, maybe not, but who cares, when she can sing the way she does? Seriously, have you heard her voice? All the runs, all the whistle ad-libs? In addition, she writes and composes. She has credits on several songs by Miyeon, a song by Purple Kiss, and Le Sserafim's Unforgiven (a huge song, even if she is just one of many, many people who worked on it). I am not sure someone with actual talent and hard work qualifies as a nepo baby, whoever their parents are.
About Natty's scream, not bad, no :) Seriously, watch some interviews or variety content of KIOF... that girl is physically incapable of not being cute :D I can totally imagine it would have been a disaster if they chose to include it.

Asylka's campaign against white boys continues 😂(and I agree 😉)
Yeah Belle grew up in the USA, so she is a fluent English speaker. Same for Julie. And Natty is Thai, so Haneul is the only native Korean.
And I think in the MV her parents really wanted Belle to be this perfect ballerina daughter, but she wanted to be an idol. I am not sure if Belle was a really a ballerina in real life, I think maybe they made that up for the MV.
And in one of the first shots of Julie's video, you see Belle walking down the stairs while Julie is walking up the stairs to the party!
Also during Natty's video when you said "who is that" it was Haneul walking past Natty while she was looking through the store window. At 15:20 in Haneul's solo you see the same scene from the other side and you can see Natty standing there. And you see the same scene again in "Bye My Neverland".
And you already noticed Belle was also watching Haneul's videos on her phone. And yes you caught the choreo! Belle was copying the choreo from Haneul's video, and later that same choreo was used in the chorus of "Shhh", good catch!
YES Haneul is the maknae 😂 I also love how the song is cute, but yeah it's not _too_ cute. And her voice does SO much in the song. You sort of rap-sings at some points, and at other points you can hear her ad libs in the background, she's a great vocalist. It's probably also my favourites of the solos, along with "Sugarcoat" maybe because that's just such a nice vibey R&B song.
I really love "Shhh" too, but "Bye My Neverland" is such an amazing song as well. Incredible debut album.
I love the entire story! If this were a TV show I would watch it 😅They did it so well, the tiny connections in the solo MVs and then how they come together in the last two videos.
I also think it's great that they debuted when they were all over 18, and they can do a bit more mature concepts, but at the same time I think it's cool they have Haneul be a little cute still 😊

Julie was a Ballerina in Hawaíi, change their dance style when she comes to Korea, but we can see some Ballerina steps in "Nobody Knows" practise dance from her.

@@Ahsoka that is also a "curse", because in every Belle's interview "Your father is Shim Shin", her father always pop up in the conversation.
