Also something small that they talk about is that barbatos moves like it's human and Mika can kinda feel or sense the damage on the suit but he can't feel the backpack thrusters because it's not a part of his body

It makes mobile suit and pilot bond more closer
The Gundam frames, and most MS in this series, are not a specific environment type, instead they can have modulated aspects like thrusters or such to help better performance on Gravity or in space. However both can be achieved by their universal configurations and instead the make up of units can lean more to going through Debris or such.
So a unit can go battle in ground, air, space or under water with the same equipment though efficiency in performance may vary between set up or overall quality for the equipment, this is a point of the MS in PD they need to be able to be modular and adapt given their origin.
I think they made another series with the same characters where they lost the war, destroyed the barbatos and the antagonist and one of the protagonist finally came to a conclusion where they made some kinda peace
You are now getting to the good part of the show and also the seed freedom movie is just a endless waltz + chars counter attack + seed gundam story plot but its good i like it but as a fan left me with questions on the lore of the ultimate coordinator and those involve in the project

& on the series I’m talkin about which I can’t think of the name of , The kid who pilots Barbatos earned the name something like the Devil or Demon Gundam.
